Chapter 381 - Pursuit Through the Grand Province!

"Known for its thriving streets and royal hotspots, the Grand Province is a beautiful zone serving as Nahata's capital! This is Vani Romanti of Vani's Traveling Reviews, and welcome to this week's episode!" Vani Romanti, former member of the now-fallen Romanti Clan - after her escape from Hamila, she traveled to New Country, a prosperous nation in the West famous for their unorganized government structure. With her past behind her, she now runs one of the best travel shows.

The four runaway cult members roared through the streets, trapping Vani in a large cloud of dust. She glanced at her clothes in silence, releasing a sigh of anger. "Why did this have to happen?" she pouted.

Kevin watched from a higher vantage point, hanging from a large pole supporting the NFEHH flag blowing in the wind. "I can barely sense any power behind those thick robes," he observed, tracking their swift movements through the labyrinth of streets. "Either way, this is just like a giant game of tag - even bigger than the games me and Gerald used to play as kids!" With a grin on his face, Kevin propelled towards the cultists using his gravitational force, pushing into the Common Realm's afternoon skies. "Coordinated attacks are boring! You only get one chance at life, so live it to the fullest!"

The cultists continued down the streets, taking note of Kevin's sudden overhead approach. Overtaken by excitement and happiness, he hopped across the large rooftops with his eyes glued towards the cultists. "Gravitational PUNCH!" he shouted, boldly leaping into the streets with his fist drawn.

In less than a second, the leading member forced both his feet onto the ground, widening his stance and illuminating his white tattoo. "Soul-Body Parting Punch!" the booming voice shouted, colliding with Kevin's gravity-shifting fist. With little to no effort, the ferocious punch broke through Kevin's, leaving his stomach to absorb his opponent's effective hit. For a second the world seemed to halt - then all the pain grouped together, piercing right through Kevin like a mighty sword. "You three go on ahead!" the large cultist insisted, bashing his fists together and smiling at his opponent's pain. "Before you know it, this boy will be dead!"

Lila and Kaelan continued across the rooftops, hopping from street-to-street while closely tracing the cultists' swift movements. "Only three of them?" Kaelan muttered, picturing the four cultists that raced out the Town Square just a few minutes back. "Either way, let's deal with these three while we still can!" Lila responded, scattering her code across their path. The energy within Kaelan's body began to glow, illuminating his fist with a sky-blue color as he pushed back into the air. "I'll be on the attack, you focus on getting an accurate reading of what we're dealing with!"

Lila scoffed, a smile growing across her face. "Since when was I taking orders from you?"

The crowds swarming the cultists' path split in half, constructing an empty path exposing the street's center. Kaelan slid through the path in hot pursuit, listening into the pedestrians' fearful whispers. "What the hell was that?" "Are we going to be okay?" "Why isn't a hunter here to take care of the situation?" With his remaining momentum, Kaelan pushed back into the skies with his glowing fist. "Surging Energy Punch!" he shouted, descending directly towards the three runaway members. His attack was dispersed by an unknown force shielding the cultists, pushing him across the street back to his starting point. "There's an external power preventing me from attacking!" he shouted back towards Lila, whose code began to rapidly flash through the streets like sparkling glitter. "Seems like they're transformation mages, but their base powers are drained out by illegal firepower! Stay on guard, they can still engage in combat!"

The three cultists halted for a moment, overtaken by immense power that ascended into the air. "Their powers are combining!" Lila warned, cautiously lifting her hands in Kaelan's defense. "That much power compressed into one is enough to create a partially developed fire-type entity!"

The glow within Kaelan's body reformed, but his growing attack was intervened by Lila. "You aren't an entity hunter, Kaelan. This is another type of entity developed from Pyron's power, and you were assigned to take just Pyron down! That said, I won't grant you permission to fight for the time being!"

Kaelan scoffed, left speechless by Lila's order. Despite everything that happened, her argument still stood strong - he wasn't a registered entity hunter, just part of the Death Desert Government. Three seconds passed, and his blue glow faded back into his hands. "Very well then," he replied.

Back on the rooftop stood Lila, surrounding herself in a circle of flashing code altering the wind breezing through her hair. Using a single hand, she compressed the code scattered through the street into one large whirring ball. The crowd's confusion and fear rapidly transformed into amazement and excitement. "Lila, one of the best professional hunters in Nahata at the young age of 15!" a journalist amongst the crowd began. "Her performance in the Grand Province's Professional Entity Hunter Exams three years ago instantly landed her with the best of the best, and we all get to witness her power at this very moment!" The malicious entity released a loud roar, creating a layer of fire around its rock-hard skin. "Being a professional hunter in the Grand Province means a ton to me, let alone the Nahatan country! I may not be in the top 10, but that won't stop me from fighting for my country!" The large ball shrunk, now hovering in the palm of her hands. "Spear of Code - Temporary Power Depletion!"

The orb exploded into a large flashing ray that poured into the streets, instantly piercing through the fire-type entity's skin. Kaelan watched in amazement alongside the crowd, quietly admiring Lila's immense power. A short second passed, and the entity's body began to wither into thin air.

Kaelan's body trembled, fazed by the crowd's sudden loud cheering from both performances. "Show them who's boss!" "Give them hell, you two!" "Show them why you're one of the best, Lila!"

Along with the entity's body disappeared the cultists, who Lila was certain about them being alive. "Seems like they used the commotion to their advantage," she muttered, jumping down from the rooftop onto the street. "Now, we'll leave the rest up to Kevin and Gerald."
