The huge amount of chakra invested in the ninjutsu cleared the area around me, but the next thing I knew I had to dash to the side - a shinobi in dark clothes, with his hands bare to the forearm and his face covered by a mask, was quickly next to me and slashed downward with his clawed hand, managing to catch me and draw four bloody streaks across my chest, tearing my shirt. Had I reacted a little slower, he would have gutted me like a kok fish.
One look at the bone blades sticking out of my attacker's fingers was enough to identify the enemy shinobi - Kaguya! How did those bastards manage to get past the barrier surrounding the village!? And why?
But I didn't have time for wonder and questions - unable to reach his target, Kaguya pointed his fingers at me and fired his bone blades.
Unfortunately for him, when I realized who I was facing, I didn't yawn and with a single effort of will I formed a shield of golden chakra on my left arm, which successfully repelled almost all of the projectiles, the scratch on my right leg not counting.
- Stand still!" he roared, leaping toward me, new bones beginning to grow on his fingertips.
He was fast enough to keep up with me and keep his distance, but his excellent taijutsu and the bones that popped out in unexpected places made me sweat so that I could only take minor damage, wishing I had equipment to soften the blows.
And as if that weren't enough, a glowing blob of lava a third my size came from somewhere off to the side, which I barely managed to get my shield under in time, while spitting the water from the seal right into Kaguya's chest.
The enemy jonin flew back a couple steps, but he was relatively unharmed - the torn clothing and vest revealed a bone carapace beneath the bloody skin at the point of impact, and the next moment I was blown off the roof of the house into the air, and the joints in my left arm crunched painfully, but thanks to the chakra reinforcement, that was all that was left.
With a quick glance in the direction of the attack, I noticed another figure in dark clothes and a mask rushing to the shinobi's aid.
Except it also gave me precious moments of respite as I barely deflected the attack to the side, landed on the wall of the house, and at the same moment drew my sword from the seal on my wrist.
- Chidori Eiso!
The broad beam of lightning that struck from the weapon strung Kaguya, who jumped after me, like a butterfly on a pin and, thanks to the inertia of his body, cut from the middle of his chest to his left shoulder, severing his lungs and spine, but even so, the mortally wounded shinobi managed to shoot several bone blades in my direction, two of which stabbed into his side and left leg, passing the very edge of the shield.
With a hiss of pain, I quickly yanked the bone projectiles out and converted the chakra around them into medical chakra, stopping the bleeding, then jumped down into the street, dodging another lava blob that splashed over the stone wall and splattered me, burning my clothes and leaving burns on my skin, smelling like burnt meat.
I didn't care about that - having shut off my pain receptors a moment before, I put my sword away and folded the seal of concentration.
The chunin that jumped out at the owner of the kekkei genkai, but immediately flew back in a fried state, screaming in pain, gave me a few moments to get my bearings. The kage bunshin appeared next to me, raising the protective wall and reinforcing it with a single touch, while I released several dozen golden chains with pike tips from the tenketsu and sent them at the enemy.
