"Miroku-sama, did you see something?" she asked quietly, turning to the kunoichi as soon as the door closed behind Jonin Konoha.
"Oh yes, this young man is much stronger than he showed us," the priestess replied distantly, staring at the door with bright eyes, "and he will be our trump card in the confrontation with Morieu.
Closing her eyes, Miroku cut off the stream of visions that had flooded her after activating her prophetic gift to its full power. The clear feeling that had previously suggested that an unexpected ally could influence not only the Demon Country but also her personally had been confirmed.
Even though she could only see events related to her own destiny, it was enough to make an instant decision as soon as Morieu's henchmen were destroyed by a tall figure. The vague images that appeared during the rescue of the merchant and his guards made sense, and the conversation with Jonin put everything in place.
With a quick movement, the high priestess of the Demon Country sent her servants away, remaining alone with her most trusted comrade, whose loyalty was unquestionable.
"Miroku?
"Military assistance is far from the most important thing I can get if everything goes right," the priestess whispered quietly, clutching the hand of her old friend, which had fallen on her shoulder. "Perhaps I and the next generations of high priestesses will no longer have to sacrifice ourselves to seal the strongest demons."
The visions showed different possibilities, including one where her power burned the defeated demon, entangled in gold in the middle of a huge fuin, filling her with hope she had never felt before.
"Shion-chan won't be left an orphan," the girl nodded understandingly, well aware of the seer's nightmarish visions.
"I will do everything to make this option a reality," the woman replied firmly.
"But that's not all, is it?" Kana narrowed her eyes, sensing a slight hesitation in her friend.
"Shion might have a little sister with scarlet hair," Miroku muttered, recalling some rather 'fiery' moments.
The mere images of intertwined naked bodies made her blush to the roots of her hair, and the fact that in some versions there were clearly not two, but three people, threw the priestess into a slight panic.
Despite having a daughter, the young woman was not at all experienced in matters of the bedchamber, acting more under the influence of the prophecy than her own preferences the first time, and afterwards, her need for Shion-chan's care and her status reliably prevented her from taking a lover from among her acquaintances. It would not have ended well.
