After Yan Luoxi waited for Xiaolian to fall asleep, she left the guest room with a book and returned to the study. She turned on the computer and called Xiaolin to arrange a video conference.
Running the hotel involved many trivial matters. Every morning there was a routine meeting. After finishing the meeting, Yan Luoxi checked the time in the bottom right corner of the computer; it was already eleven-thirty.
She shut down the computer, stretched, and walked out. Returning to the guest room, Xiaolian was still asleep. She stayed in the room for a while before turning and leaving.
When Xiaolian woke up again, the room was very quiet. She pushed herself up, noticing the IV had finished and the needle had been removed. She rubbed her forehead, picked up a thin coat, draped it over her shoulders, and headed downstairs.
Downstairs was empty; Aunt Tong wasn't there, and Yan Luoxi wasn't there either.
