She sat on the sofa for half an hour and Bo Jingnian still hadn't come back. She couldn't help starting to worry about him. He'd drunk that much, then stormed out after being provoked—what if something happened to him?
In that instant, her sluggish brain finally sensed something was wrong. She shot to her feet; she got up too fast and her knee slammed into the coffee table. A sharp pain seared through her, but she couldn't be bothered with it. She slipped on her slippers and ran out.
It was very quiet outside the villa, even the sound of the waves had become less noisy. She looked around but didn't see any sign of Bo Jingnian. The car was still parked beside the villa though, which meant he hadn't driven off.
She let out a small breath of relief and walked toward the beach.
As she walked, she called softly, "Bo Jingnian, Bo Jingnian, where are you? Come out, don't scare me!"
