Gu Qian's body froze, she looked up and saw the man standing at the door, covered in dust from travel. She was stunned for a moment, but within a second, her body lost balance and she fell to the ground.
Mo Beichen, who was still in a daze, saw her falling and quickly stepped forward, pulling her into his arms. His heart was pounding so hard it almost leapt out of his mouth. He said in a deep voice, "Why are you so careless?"
Gu Qian fell into his arms, her chin hitting his shoulder, causing tears to spring from the pain. She blinked several times, quickly pulled back, and turned her face away in silence.
Mo Beichen didn't notice anything unusual. He helped her sit on the bed and knelt beside her to check her calf. "Did you hurt yourself? Does it hurt?"
As he spoke, he looked up at her, only to see her turning her head away, avoiding his gaze. He frowned slightly and gently touched her. Gu Qian flinched and drew her leg back, trying to act calm as she said, "I'm okay."
