And so, after a very long conversation, Akira, Kai, and Hina decided to go to sleep to finally get some rest.
They talked about a lot of things, from the future festival to the structure of the Kobayashi Dragons.
Akira even told Kai a small glimpse of her past as a soldier in the army.
The young man listened carefully to her words, looking intrigued by her story.
"So, you're basically telling me that you were the best sniper in the army?" Kai asked, with a glimpse of enthusiasm and curiosity.
Akira nodded her head proudly and sadly at the same time.
"Yeah… I was, exactly." She said with a sigh, leaning her back against the wall.
"Then, the perfect Akira that had the dream of defeating the evil became a totally different person. She literally joined the dark side." She said while remembering the old times.
Then, she moved her gaze towards Hina, who was still listening despite already knowing the story.
She was holding her boyfriend's arm tightly.
Akira was not used to seeing such a sweet side of Hina.
Despite their close but unknown bond, Akira had never seen sweet things like these coming from her "sister".
"But I'm lucky, in a certain way," Akira said while smiling at Hina.
That was a very sweet thing to say.
The fact that Akira even "betrayed" her own clan could also be considered proof of her love towards Hina.
Word after word, the day's tiredness set in, and they eventually needed a rest.
Luckily, Kai had a guest room upstairs, close to his.
It was the only place where Akira could sleep.
More than that, she would've been close to him, just in case of an emergency.
Hina, on the other hand, decided to sleep with her beloved boyfriend, in the same bed.
It wasn't an easy situation, but it was the most logical.
"I'm going to take a shower," Akira said while looking Kai in the eyes with a mischievous tone. "Don't come peeking at your big sis, okay?~" she said while blinking her eyes at him.
"I'm pretty sure that he won't. Kai is very respectful." Hina said with a smile, while tightening the grip on his arm.
She literally said, "he cares about his life, and wouldn't want to go against certain death."
Kai couldn't do anything but silently accept his fate.
Akira laughed mischievously after hearing her sister's reaction.
"Who knows~ he's still a young boy." Akira whispered in an almost "sensual" voice, with her eyes becoming sharper.
Hina's grip on Kai's arm became even tighter, and she smiled maliciously at her sister.
Her expression was literally telling her, "I'll kill you."
"Didn't you say that you're tired? Go now." Hina said with a sharp tone of voice.
Kai couldn't help but sigh at the cliched situation.
Akira then let out a small giggle and said: "I didn't say I was tired, but I'll go. Good night!" She said before giving another glance at Kai and leaving the room.
Well, Hina already said that Akira was into younger boys and that she always liked to tease them.
And that's probably the reason why she didn't assault her for teasing Kai right in front of her.
Deep down, despite her jealous and possessive side, Hina knew that Akira didn't have any bad intentions.
Then, only the two lovers remained in the kitchen.
Alone with each other's company.
Hina released her grip on her arm before looking at him with a small pout on her face.
She then leaned closer to him and stopped when her face was one inch from his, like she was expecting something.
Her eyes were locked on his.
So many things happened that Kai didn't even realize what his girlfriend wanted from him.
He was too tired to think.
"What is it, Hina?" Kai asked in a calm, almost confused tone.
Hina's pout intensified before sighing.
"Nothing," Hina said with a disappointed sigh before taking some distance from him and standing up.
She was clearly expecting some affection from him.
"Let's go to sleep… we have a lot of things to do tomorrow," Hina said while offering her hand to Kai.
Kai smiled and grabbed her hand after standing up from the chair.
"I think we should," Kai said before stretching his arms and yawning.
Then, they both walked into his room, his refuge from the world he was living in.
The only sounds in the house were their footsteps and the shower in the bathroom.
When they entered, Kai switched the light on and took a few steps inside.
He then took a look at everything and noticed that everything was perfectly in order.
Everything was in the right place.
More than that, he also started to wonder where Hiro's journal was.
It was probably in a hidden place in his room.
But there was no need to read it.
He had all the answers he needed for the moment.
But… he didn't notice a specific piece of information on it.
"Shall we sleep now, darling? Or would you like to… do something else?" Hina whispered in his ear with a very "lustful voice".
Kai shivered as a sudden wave of heat rapidly embraced his heart.
He clearly didn't expect such a turn of events, because Akira was sleeping in the room next to theirs.
