Chapter 5 - An End and a Start

Darkness, hands tied and the ground cold, he hears the sound of footsteps and shouting. A man was tired but he tries to remember anything he can, his favorite food, his favorite drink, his friends, at least the ones that might still be alive… what he hates and what kind of shoes he used to wear.

'Why?'

That voice again, whenever it gets quiet, whenever he's alone, it speaks. First, it started out with one voice but as he continued to do what he did best, it grew. Sometimes it was calm, most of the time it was loud.

'Why?'

And now, it's all he could hear.

This man is... was a mercenary, and one that did what others couldn't do for the right price. He reveled in war, and was paid good for it, earning him riches that only normal people can dream of.

'Why?'

'Because it paid…'

From one battle to the next he moved like a beast or ghost. Every shot hitting their mark, every move done with speed and precision, once a job was taken, none could stand in his way.

'Why?'

'Because I was good at it…'

Sometimes, he would be sent in to take care of some bastards, real scum of the earth, from slave traders to turn coats. None could escape from him. Cleaning the world one job at a time.

'Why?'

'Because they deserved it…"

Then there was thi-

'Why?'

'Why…?' 'Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?'Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?''Why?'

All this man can do is shut his eyes, the voice deafening, he wants to cover his ears but his hands are tied, he tries to shout but his throat is torn from all the times before, he looks down, scared to see the face attached to the voice. So he waits, for the moment that the voices stop asking him, that this darkness, this cowardness, to be the last thing he feels…

A coldness hits his face, the sound of trees swaying in the winds. This was different, he couldn't move. He tries to stretch out his arms and legs but finds them bound by something, not only that, he also feel weak, like really weak. But the one thing that stands out, that the voice was gone, the voice that haunted him, murmured whenever he sleeps, screamed whenever it gets dark, it's finally gone.

Slowly, he opens his eyes and sees something strange. Gone were the concrete walls and dim lights, he sees a expansive night sky, red and green weaves in-between the many stars. The moon shines a bright blue as it illuminates the dense and huge forest around him. The trees themselves has a purple hue on the barks, the leaves with red edges.

'Where am I?' He tries to speak but couldn't make out the words.

"Gah!" Was the sound he makes. "GAAAHH!" He repeats, trying to make any words.

'What the-' His thought was cut off as he heard something coming towards him. Sounds of branches breaking, rustling of leaves. As if on instinct, he prepares himself, eyes towards the noise and body relaxing, at least the best he can do with his bindings. He focuses his hearing on the footsteps, trying to guess the source of the steps.

'Four, an animal, no, two, men… no…' As they close in, he can't help but feel that those steps are different, something close to humans but not quite… The steps grow louder, closer and when they finally emerge from the forest, his eyes go wide. Out came the most beautiful and stunning woman he had ever seen. Her hands move her long black hair to reveal her bright red eyes gleam from the shadows, the night sky makes her pale skin glow. A thing he notices was that she's huge, towering over him.

"It is a baby." The pale woman speaks, even her voice was seductive. From behind her, another figure comes forward, causing the man to struggle even more at focusing. She's just as breathtaking as the first but her skin was more tan, with a more toned body, her hair's brown, short and messy, giving her this almost wild and strong look. Similarly, her eyes are also red as she stared at him.

"Huh? Was he left by the caravan?" The tan woman speaks. She steps closer before sniffing the air. "And it's a male…"

"A male? This close to the village?" The two scan their surroundings, as if watching out for some ambush, which was strange to the man, or baby, even though they don't have any weapons, there's this air of readiness around them. They stand still for what seemed like minutes before the pale woman relaxes and look at the baby.

"See that?" She finally spoke, pointing at the ground around the baby. "Teleportation markings…" She steps closer to the marking on the ground, studying them. "One-way, Looks like someone wanted to get rid of this baby and didn't care where he would end up…" The tan woman grabs the pale woman on the shoulder and pulls her back.

"Sia! What are you doing?!" Her voice's sharp and harsh, "That's a MALE! You know the rule we have!" The pale woman, Sia, brushes her off and smiles.

"It's fine Verra, he smells like one but…" She turns back and waves her hand over the baby. "He doesn't feel like one. Even you can feel that." The tan woman, Verra, looks down at the baby and sighs.

"You're right, maybe that's the reason why he was sent away, there's a strange air about him… maybe we should leave him…" Verra say, looking sad, but the man can't blame her, being careful is a key point in surviving and a strange baby in the middle of nowhere can cause anyone to be cautious. "And look, he's been staring at us for a while now." She points out. The man/baby couldn't help but stare at them, they are crazy sexy. He coughs, embarrassed for being called out.

"Aww, he's embarrassed!" Sia squeals, reaching down and lifting the baby. Holding him in her bosom. "It's okay to stare little one, we're known to be alluring." She's warm as her hand pats him, this strange sensation causes him to relax instantly. It's only now until he notice how much his body hurts, as if he was laying on his back for hours. Normally, this amount of pain would barely affect him, but he feels his eyes start to water. Aware of what he's going to do, he tries to hold it back, letting out squeaks and groans. Sia pats his back and moving him up and down. "There there, you're safe now." For some reason her touch makes him weak, the voice he's desperately holding back raise from his throat.

"WAAAHHH!" The man cries, wailing in his baby form. Even though he knows he's a baby now, he can't help but feel embarrassed to be crying like one. His wailing continues, tears seemingly endless, as if he's crying for more than one reason as pain fades and relief sets in.
