Chapter 276 Searching The Perimeter
Before them stood an iron gate connecting a hedge surrounding the property. Peeking through the gaps in the gate, Aleshia caught a glimpse of the yard, which featured a vibrant garden filled with cascading rows of colorful flowers, creating a stunning sight. Aleshia looked around before asking, "Should we knock on the gate, or should we start searching for clues about the cat around the property?"
Brian took the initiative to speak up. "Typically, regular adventurers would knock on the gate and ask for more details, but we come from the slums..." He paused for a moment. "Even though we have a good reputation, I doubt we would be allowed in. However, that won't matter as long as we find the cat. We can still collect our reward, regardless of who we are," he reassured.
During Brian's explanation, Liam had activated a scout skill that helped him detect traces based on faint scents and altered vision. He started walking around the perimeter and soon discovered a clump of fur on top of a bush. With this piece of fur, he was able to use additional scout abilities to get a better sense of the animal.
While Liam searched for tracks to trace the cat, the rest of the group dispersed and examined the perimeter of the house.
As the party was busy investigating, Aleshia thought it would be advantageous to let Lucia search from the sky, since she could float and move in the air. "Lucia," Aleshia said, "I'm planning to launch you into the air. Will you be able to float down safely?"
"I'm not so sure being that high up will really help with the search, but you can give it a shot," Lucia replied.
At Lucia's signal to proceed, Aleshia removed her hat and prepared to throw Lucia into the sky. Moments later, Lucia was airborne, buoyed by the wind and her own flying abilities. From above, she could see into the courtyard, which had been hidden from view by the tall shrubs surrounding the property.
After adjusting her position in the sky, Lucia began her search. She saw several maids and helpers around the property, busy with their tasks and unaware of her presence as well as the party outside. From her vantage point, she noticed something unusual: a section of one of the hedges was missing. It was in an area that was likely to go unnoticed, but thanks to her high vantage point, she could see it clearly. Recognizing that something was unusual, she continued searching that part of the property, hoping it would help the others find the lost cat.
