Chapter 330 - Raising Questions

Chapter 330 Raising Questions

It took Aleshia a moment, but she said, "Oh, hi! I've been doing well. I got done with completing some quests that Daniel assigned to us a while ago; they have been both exciting and fulfilling." She waved back at Rey and asked, "How have you two been?"

Tristan and Rey nodded in agreement. Rey took the lead in responding. "We've both been doing well. We just returned from completing a few quests ourselves and feel the same way about them."

Tristan then added his own experiences, saying, "They definitely take some time to finish. But hey, at least we get paid well for completing them, although it is different in other camps," he offhandedly remarked.

Aleshia was curious about the other camps, so she inquired. "What's happening in the other camps? This camp is the only one I've been in, so I haven't had much chance to learn about what's going on outside of here." Aleshia was clearly interested in the information Tristan had to share.

Tristan began to speak, "To give some background, I've been moving from one camp to another and have taken several quests at each camp. In my experience, I have found that the rewards from the quests are less than what we receive here, at least in my experience. While I can't speak for the rewards others higher up in the order received, judging by their expressions when we got paid, I would guess they received about the same amount as I did."

"You must have been in a very precarious situation to need to move from camp to camp," Aleshia said, expressing concern. "But never mind that, wouldn't it suggest corruption at the top?" she suggested.

Tristan shared some of Aleshia's concerns, "I agree that corruption might be an issue in the other camps. Not at this camp, though. I'm more worried that this camp director is not keeping enough money to operate the camp. Regardless, that's just my perspective on the situation; I'm not entirely sure what the reality actually is, but it's something to consider."

Aleshia listened carefully to the information he shared, which sparked her curiosity about what other camps might have been like if she had come across them first. Leaving her with several more questions. "It sounds like there are many camps like these, yet I have hardly seen any during my time out. Where might I find them? I'd also like to ask, are you originally from this area, or are you an adventurer? Someone traveling from town to town completing quests?" Aleshia asked him.
