✨🌌 [Author's POV] 🌌✨
A handsome young man alighted elegantly from a black hover cab, exuding the kind of poise and sophistication usually reserved for the empire's highest circles. After bowing to the driver, he straightened and walked toward the library and the College of Culinary Arts building with his back straight and his head held high. An aloof little smile curved his lips, deepening the single dimple in his left cheek, while his amethyst eyes sparkled as if his thoughts had wandered somewhere far sweeter than campus stone and morning light.
He never once noticed the eyes that turned his way. His aura was beautiful and complex, like a setting sun caught between fire and twilight—red, orange, gold, blue, violet, and indigo shifting around him in a way that complemented his midnight blue-black hair and ethereal amethyst gaze.
His outfit was simple: a white button-down shirt with rolled sleeves and black pants marked by clean white pinstripes. Yet somehow, the simplicity made him look as if he were walking a catwalk rather than crossing a university campus. He commanded attention without seeming to seek it, and that made the curious and heated gazes around him even more obvious to everyone except himself.
The owner of that gaze stood half-hidden beneath the shadow of a sleek black privacy mask, its smooth surface blurring the lower half of his face without looking theatrical. To most passersby, he was only another important visitor avoiding attention. Only those unfortunate enough to meet his eyes would have known better.
Among the many curious, jealous, startled, and openly admiring stares, one gaze stood apart. It held the same awe and curiosity as the others, but beneath that lay confusion, disbelief, restrained longing, and a possessive instinct its owner was clearly fighting to master.
The desire burning in those light turquoise eyes was as haunting as it was carefully restrained. They were not simply beautiful; they were darkly complex, almost beastly in their intensity, with faint silver and deep gray streaks like lightning threading through clear daylight. Anyone unfortunate enough to meet them for too long would have felt the weight behind that gaze. If the handsome young man were to see those eyes fixed on him with such layered emotion, he would instinctively raise every wall he possessed and put as much distance as possible between himself and their owner.
The turquoise eyes never left the handsome young man until he entered the building and the doors closed fully behind him. Only then did those eyes close on a deep inhale as their owner fought to center himself and reclaim the composure that had nearly slipped.
His gaze remained fixed on the closed university doors for one breath too long. His assistant noticed, of course. She always noticed. "Sir?" she asked quietly.
The man did not answer at once. His fingers flexed once at his side before going still again. "Find out who he is."
The assistant's eyes flicked toward the building, then back to him. She did not ask which student he meant. There had only been one person capable of making him forget the world around him. "Discreetly?" she asked.
"Completely."
Her thumb moved across her tablet, opening a private search window tied to the university's visitor and student-access registry. She worked quickly, filtering by recent arrivals, hover-cab drop-off timestamps, department proximity, and public campus feed captures.
Within seconds, a student profile appeared. "Beyol Bong Tae-Hwan," she said softly. "Culinary Arts College. Final-year doctoral candidate. Preferred professional name registered as Phoenix."
The man's breath almost changed. Almost. His assistant saw that too. "Would you like the full file, sir?"
"Send it to my secure channel."
"Yes, sir."
He looked once more toward the doors Phoenix had vanished through. Beyol Bong Tae-Hwan. Phoenix. Neither name explained the recognition pressing beneath his ribs.
'Now is not the right time. Patience is key. You cannot mess it up...' The thought trembled through him with more force than he liked. The young man was already gone, hidden beyond campus doors and layers of polished glass, yet the afterimage of amethyst eyes and a careless, heart-stopping smile remained fixed behind his ribs like a blade warmed by sunlight.
He knew him. Not clearly. Not in any way that would survive explanation. But the recognition was there all the same, quiet and unsettling, brushing beneath his ribs before he could name it. One glimpse of those amethyst eyes had been enough to disturb something he had long ago learned to keep still. Perhaps it was instinct. Perhaps it was simply the strange pull of a fated bond forming before either side understood it. Whatever it was, he knew better than to approach too soon.
The certainty bothered him more than the longing did. Longing could be disciplined. Desire could be buried. But certainty—quiet, unreasonable certainty—had a way of making even the most careful man reckless.
"He is here," he said softly.
His assistant froze. "Sir?"
The man opened his eyes, and whatever had slipped through them vanished behind flawless control. "Nothing," he said. "Forget you heard that."
His assistant did not look convinced, but she bowed her head anyway. "As you wish, sir. We have the meeting with the dean in five minutes. The office confirmed twice, and the security wing has been notified of your arrival."
"Good," he replied. "No public announcement."
"Of course. Your visit remains private."
"Then let us keep it that way. We will proceed to the dean's office. No delays. No announcements. No unnecessary eyes."
The command was cool, clipped, and perfectly controlled. Only the assistant, who had spent years learning the difference between his public indifference and his private restraint, heard the fracture hidden beneath it.
The man turned toward the dean's office with measured steps, but his fingers curled once at his side before relaxing again. Not longing. Not hunger. Not exactly. Something older than both had stirred, and he had nearly let it show.

The dean was already waiting when the office doors opened. She rose at once, spine straight, hands folded with careful discipline in front of her. Her expression was professional, but her gaze flicked once to the sleek black privacy mask before dropping respectfully. "Sir," she greeted, bowing just deep enough to acknowledge rank without making a spectacle of it. "Ozarka Tech University is honored by your visit."
His assistant stepped in first, tablet tucked against her side like a shield made of schedules and legal authority. "This is a private appointment. No internal announcement. No staff-wide notice. No student-facing record."
The dean's mouth tightened almost imperceptibly before she replied, "Of course. Your privacy will be protected."
The masked man inclined his head and strode to the plush wingback chair set before the visitor's couch. He sat without asking permission. Only then did one elegant hand rise to the edge of his privacy mask.
His fingers were long and beautifully shaped, pale beneath the office light, with the quiet strength of a man used to power that did not need to announce itself.
He removed the mask with unhurried precision.
The dean's breath caught before she could stop it. For one exposed second, recognition shattered her professional calm.
She lowered her gaze immediately, not out of fear alone, but out of the instinctive caution of someone who knew exactly how many titles belonged to the man sitting across from her and how dangerous it would be to choose the wrong one.
Without the mask, there was no mistaking him: Choi Yongbok, the empire's beloved Movie Emperor.
He set the privacy mask neatly beside him.
"Dean," he said at last, voice smooth, low, and impeccably controlled, "thank you for receiving me on such short notice."
The courtesy in his tone did nothing to soften the pressure in the room. If anything, it made it worse.
His long-fingered hand settled on the arm of the chair.
"Now, let us get down to business. I have a full schedule this morning, and I do not intend to waste either your time or mine."
The dean bowed at once, deeper this time. When she spoke, her voice was steady through sheer discipline.
"Yes, Director Choi. Ozarka Tech is at your disposal."
Choi Yongbok inclined his head. "Good."
The single word made the room colder.
The dean gestured toward the seating area. "Please, have a seat. I have prepared the updated reports regarding campus security, the Culinary Arts College, and the media-access restrictions for the upcoming filming schedule."
His assistant's eyes sharpened. "Were there concerns before our arrival?"
"Minor ones," the dean replied carefully. "Ozarka Tech has a lively student body. The Culinary Arts College in particular has drawn more attention since the program's partnership with The Chef and The Celebrity became known."
The assistant made a note. "And student conduct?"
The dean drew a measured breath. "There was an unusual spike in campus forum activity this morning. Images. Speculation. Mostly harmless student chatter for now."
"For now," Yongbok repeated.
His voice was calm, but calm from him somehow felt more dangerous than anger.
The assistant glanced at him briefly, then back to the dean. "Send those reports to my secure channel. Full file, not the summarized version."
"Of course," the dean said at once.
A beat passed.
Then Yongbok asked, "Were any students targeted?"
The question was mild. Too mild.
"Not officially," the dean answered. "But one student drew particular attention upon arrival."
His assistant's gaze flicked to him. His expression did not change. "Name?" the assistant asked.
The dean looked between them, sensing the tension but not understanding its shape. "Beyol Bong Tae-Hwan. Culinary Arts College. Final-year doctoral candidate. Preferred professional name registered as Phoenix."
Yongbok's hand, resting against the arm of the chair, went perfectly still. His assistant noticed. The dean did not.
"Monitor the forum," he said at last. "If admiration becomes harassment, act before it reaches him."
The dean's eyes widened slightly at the specificity of the instruction, but she bowed her head. "Understood."
His assistant's tone remained smooth. "No disciplinary overreach. Quiet corrections only. We are not drawing attention to him by attempting to protect him too visibly."
The dean looked relieved to have something procedural to hold. "Yes. Quiet corrections."
Choi Yongbok rose. The dean rose with him at once, as if the room itself had given the order.
"One more thing," he said.
"Yes, Director Choi?"
"No one is to know I asked."
The dean did not ask what he meant. That, at least, proved she was not foolish.
"Of course," she said. "Ozarka Tech will treat the matter with discretion."
His assistant gave the dean a polite nod, already closing the files on her tablet. "We will expect the reports within the hour."
"Within thirty minutes," the dean corrected quickly.
The assistant's expression softened by a degree. "Efficient."
Choi Yongbok turned toward the door.
Behind him, the dean released the smallest breath only after she thought he could no longer hear it.
He heard it anyway.
So did his assistant.
Neither of them commented.

☯ Mrs_TNT / Tiff ☯: So… someone watched Nix arrive at school.
Nix🐦🔥: "Someone"? That sounds suspiciously vague.
🐉Solaris🐦🔥: Suspiciously vague is a valid narrative seasoning.
Nix🐦🔥: Solaris, why do you sound like you know something?
🐉Solaris🐦🔥: I know many things. For example, snacks taste better when paired with ominous eye contact.
☯ Mrs_TNT / Tiff ☯: That is not an answer.
🐉Solaris🐦🔥: It is a strategically seasoned non-answer.
Choi Yongbok: I was being discreet.
Nix🐦🔥: Wearing a mask and staring like a final boss is not discreet.
Choi Yongbok: I did not stare like a final boss.
🐉Solaris🐦🔥: Correction: elegant final boss. Very high production value.
☯ Mrs_TNT / Tiff ☯: Excellent cheekbones. Terrible stealth.
Choi Yongbok: My stealth is adequate.
Nix🐦🔥: You had your assistant look me up five seconds after seeing me.
Choi Yongbok: Efficient information gathering.
Nix🐦🔥: Stalking with paperwork.
🐉Solaris🐦🔥: Administrative yearning.
☯ Mrs_TNT / Tiff ☯: That sounds like a government department.
🐉Solaris🐦🔥: It has forms. And snacks.
Choi Yongbok: I object.
🐉Solaris🐦🔥: Overruled. I have tiny authority.
Nix🐦🔥: Since when?
🐉Solaris🐦🔥: Since I appointed myself Chief Snack Officer in Chapter 23.
☯ Mrs_TNT / Tiff ☯: Continuity matters.
Nix🐦🔥: I hate that you're right.
Choi Yongbok: For the record, I did not intend to unsettle him.
Nix🐦🔥: You said "He is here" like the universe delivered your long-lost tax refund.
🐉Solaris🐦🔥: A very precious tax refund.
☯ Mrs_TNT / Tiff ☯: With amethyst eyes.
Nix🐦🔥: Why are my eyes being dragged into this?
Choi Yongbok: They are memorable.
☯ Mrs_TNT / Tiff ☯: Memorable as in "pretty eyes," or memorable as in "my soul filed a missing-person report before I was born"?
Choi Yongbok: I plead the Fifth.
Nix🐦🔥: That is definitely suspicious.
🐉Solaris🐦🔥: The Fifth is also suspiciously shaped like a circle.
Nix🐦🔥: What does that even mean?
🐉Solaris🐦🔥: Balance.
Nix🐦🔥: I dislike how meaningful that sounded.
🐉Solaris🐦🔥: Then pretend I meant snacks.
☯ Mrs_TNT / Tiff ☯: Dear readers, no need to overthink anything.
🐉Solaris🐦🔥: Unless you enjoy overthinking.
Choi Yongbok: Some things are easier to recognize than to explain.
Nix🐦🔥: I feel like that was aimed at me.
🐉Solaris🐦🔥: Not everything is about you, Mama.
Nix🐦🔥: I am literally the main character.
☯ Mrs_TNT / Tiff ☯: And yet the plot has excellent peripheral vision.
Nix🐦🔥: That is ominous.
Choi Yongbok: I prefer "carefully structured."
🐉Solaris🐦🔥: I prefer "bring snacks."
☯ Mrs_TNT / Tiff ☯: See you next chapter, my lovely phoenix-dragons.
Nix🐦🔥: Should I be worried?
🐉Solaris🐦🔥: Always bring snacks. Then worry.
