🐦‍🔥 [ Phoenix ☯ POV ] 🐦‍🔥

By the time the ship entered Terra Anka's atmosphere, the quiet distance between Phoenix and Bai Yu Ning had softened into something almost comfortable. She still maintained her professional composure, but the edges had eased. At one point, she even told him he could call her nuna if he wished, provided he was comfortable with it.

The offer surprised him in the gentlest way. Bai Yu Ning's family traced its roots back to ancient China, yet she accepted his Korean honorifics with thoughtful respect instead of treating them like eccentric decoration. Culture survived that way, Phoenix thought—not all at once, but through the people who still spoke the words, cooked the food, sang the songs, and cared enough to teach what they knew.

It was one of the things Phoenix admired most about the Beyols. They did not preserve tradition as something brittle, locked behind glass and admired from a distance. They used it. They spoke it across the breakfast table, packed it into lunch boxes, folded it into food, nicknames, manners, and the small daily choices that made a family feel rooted. Maybe the forms had changed across thirty-seven thousand years, but the care underneath had not.

A few minutes later, Bai Yu Ning returned from checking the arrival schedule, tablet tucked against her side. "Phoenix-ssi, we will arrive in approximately eight minutes. Contract review may take some time, and the preliminary briefing will follow before filming begins."

Phoenix studied the lounge cabin with renewed interest. The ship was not enormous, but every detail spoke of quiet money: pressure-stabilized windows, silent gravity correction, flexible seating that shifted from lounge to office to sleeper pod, and subtle luxury built around privacy rather than display.

It also made Phoenix wonder how many of the show's contestants would experience the same level of consideration once filming truly began. Luxury could be generous, but it could also be a pretty cage with a better view. Production had sent a private ship, assigned a competent assistant, and prepared every transfer with impressive efficiency; that did not mean the rest of the arrangement would be equally kind.

'Solaris,' Phoenix asked through the bond, still watching the horizon brighten ahead, 'do you think contestants are assigned individual rooms or shared quarters?'

Solaris's attention sharpened at once. 'I can check later if Mama wants certainty. But with this sponsor, this resort, and the public image they are trying to sell, I doubt they would put the main contestants in cramped dorms. Shared luxury suites, perhaps. Private rooms if they are especially smart.'

'Private would be better,' Phoenix admitted. He kept his expression turned toward the window so Bai Yu Ning would not notice any shift. 'I do not like sleeping near strangers. And how am I supposed to freely talk to and cuddle my emotional support phoenix-dragon if production decides I need roommates?'

Solaris went very still, then melted into smug, aching sweetness through the bond. 'Mama should feel honored. This mighty deity is indeed a very high-level emotional support phoenix-dragon. Also, I do not want to sleep alone either.'

Bai Yu Ning took the seat beside him near the viewing window, her expression too carefully neutral to be casual. Phoenix was about to ask what she expected him to notice when the clouds broke beneath them and the Starlight District unfolded below in glittering layers of light, glass, and suspended gardens. Then he saw it.

The Majestic Bonghwang.

From above, the Starlight District looked less like a single entertainment quarter and more like a constellation someone had convinced to obey urban planning. Performance domes glowed beneath translucent roofs. Holo-banners drifted between high towers. Landing platforms opened and closed like mechanical lotus flowers, while streams of private craft curved through designated aerial lanes with elegant restraint. Every light seemed intentional, every road and garden placed to guide the eye toward the same impossible center.

The Majestic Bonghwang rose from the Starlight District like a dream built from glass, gold, water, and impossible ambition. Not a hotel. Not merely a resort. A vertical city: interlinked towers, floating gardens, glass skybridges, luxury residences, shopping districts, theaters, museums, restaurants, and recreation floors stacked into one breathtaking complex.

Ancient East Asian dragon-and-phoenix motifs curved through the futuristic architecture, gold and jade lines woven into chrome, glass, water, and living greenery. Pools glittered between towers. Botanical terraces spilled over the edges like suspended forests. Skybridges arched from one wing to another with the elegant menace of a dragon's spine.

The longer Phoenix stared, the more deliberate the symbolism became. The central tower did not simply rise; it anchored the rest of the complex like the spine of a celestial creature. Curving side towers mirrored one another in a faint Taijitu pattern, their reflective pools set like the paired seeds of yin and yang. Dragon lines led the eye upward, but phoenix curves softened the ascent, as if the entire resort had been designed around balance, pursuit, and return.

It was beautiful. It was excessive. It was also far too intelligent to be mere decoration. Whoever had designed The Majestic Bonghwang had not been satisfied with luxury alone; they had embedded a story into the bones of the building. Phoenix did not know enough yet to read it properly, but something about those mirrored towers and intertwined motifs made the back of his neck prickle with recognition he could not place.

The complex was enormous enough to contain entire worlds of indulgence without shouting about any of them. Indoor beaches shimmered under artificial sunlight. Climate-controlled gardens softened the tower's sharp lines. Restaurants, galleries, performance halls, private schools, recreation parks, and hidden residence levels unfolded around the central structure in luxurious layers.

'Well,' Phoenix thought, stunned despite himself, 'it is more than a little obvious that Choi Yongbok is doing well for himself.'

Solaris made a thoughtful little sound through the bond. 'Impressive. Excessive. Possibly full of snacks.'

'You only care about snacks,' Phoenix accused, though his eyes remained on the resort.

'Incorrect,' Solaris replied with great dignity. 'I also care whether Mama gets to explore the expensive pretty building. If Mama finds anything useful, we can add something similar to the Nursery.'

Phoenix nearly turned toward him in disbelief before remembering Bai Yu Ning could not hear the conversation. 'You can do that?'

'Of course I can,' Solaris said, offended in the way only a tiny invisible dragon-phoenix could be. 'Who does Mama take me for? My powers are fully unlocked. Such little faith.'

Phoenix pressed his lips together and pretended to study the resort more closely. Solaris sounded wounded, but the smug gleam Phoenix felt through the bond said his baby was thoroughly pleased with himself. Laughing aloud would only make Bai Yu Ning ask questions, so Phoenix settled for biting the inside of his cheek.

Several minutes later, the ship crossed the vast approach lawns and descended toward the front entrance. When Phoenix disembarked, two rows of impeccably dressed staff waited on either side of the walkway, twelve to each side, with one senior attendant standing at the front like the final stroke in a carefully drawn welcome.

The front attendant bowed first. The others followed in perfect unison, a full forty-five-degree bow that turned the welcome into something closer to ceremony than service.

The senior attendant straightened, hands folded with flawless precision. "Welcome to The Majestic Bonghwang, Phoenix-ssi. We are honored to receive you. Bai Yu Ning-ssi has already confirmed your arrival with production, and your escort to contract review is prepared."

For a moment, Phoenix remembered standing in other grand places under other names, greeted by servants, soldiers, priests, nobles, officials, and monsters wearing human smiles. Ceremony could be welcome. Ceremony could also be warning. He measured this one carefully and found no immediate malice, only trained precision, intense curiosity, and the faint tremor of staff members who understood they were receiving someone production had already marked as important.

Phoenix paused for less than a breath. Not Beyol Bong Tae-Hwan. Phoenix. Bai Yu Ning had moved quickly, and the courtesy warmed something in him he had not expected to notice.

His smile softened by a fraction as he returned the bow. "Thank you for receiving me. I will be in your care today."

Several staff members lowered their gazes a little too quickly. One or two looked as if they had forgotten how to blink. Phoenix pretended not to notice. He was getting far too much practice at that lately.

Solaris, invisible and delighted, hummed through the bond. 'Mama's face has struck again.'

'Do not start,' Phoenix warned.

'I am only making accurate observations.'

Bai Yu Ning was small beside him, almost delicate in comparison to the towering entrance and ceremonial staff, yet her presence made the entire welcome feel less overwhelming. Solaris's earlier words returned to him with sudden clarity: in Bai Yu Ning's hands, he was safe. Phoenix still did not know all the shadows hidden behind her gentle professionalism, but he was beginning to understand that softness and danger could live in the same person without contradiction.

Bai Yu Ning stepped smoothly beside him before Solaris could become more insufferable. "This way, Phoenix-ssi. Contract review will be first, followed by the preliminary briefing and individual production interview."

Phoenix tightened his grip on Nuna's snack box and looked toward the towering entrance. Glass, gold, water, dragons, phoenixes, cameras, contracts—and somewhere inside it all, Choi Yongbok. The building did not simply wait for him. It opened like a gilded mouth, vast and shining, ready to swallow secrets, spectacle, and anyone foolish enough to mistake luxury for gentleness.

"Lead the way," he said.

☯ Mrs_TNT / Tiff ☯ : Behold, my beloved chaos gremlins… hatchlings? (Yeah that will work. Hah)a: The Majestic Bonghwang. Part hotel, part condo empire, part luxury resort, part entertainment district, and entirely too proud of itself in glass, gold, water, and suspiciously symbolic architecture.

🐦‍🔥Nix🐦‍🔥: I am not saying the building is excessive. I am only saying that if a property needs multiple towers, indoor beaches, floating gardens, private residences, secret levels, and enough skybridges to braid a dragon, it may be trying very hard to make an impression.

🐉Solaris🐦‍🔥: Mama, please show respect. Some buildings are simply born majestic, enormous, mysterious, and probably full of snacks.

☯ Mrs_TNT / Tiff ☯ : Mhm. "Born majestic." Is that what we are calling privately owned, symbolically charged, ultra-luxury architectural flexing now?

🐦‍🔥Nix🐦‍🔥: If someone says, "Please visit my modest little property," and then reveals a vertical city with luxury condos, private towers, hidden suites, and pools arranged like cosmic symbolism, I reserve the right to raise one eyebrow.

🐉Solaris🐦‍🔥: One eyebrow? Mama, your eyebrow has already filed a formal complaint with the StarNet Architecture Review Board.

☯ Mrs_TNT / Tiff ☯ : To be fair, the place has layers. Public luxury, private residences, symbolic towers, secret rooms, mirrored pools, and enough decadence to make a tax auditor cry glitter into a silk handkerchief.

🐦‍🔥Nix🐦‍🔥: I am beginning to suspect this hotel is not just a hotel.

🐉Solaris🐦‍🔥: Correct. It is a hotel, a resort, a condo complex, a snack opportunity, a symbolic nesting structure, and possibly a dramatic courting display wearing an architectural permit.

🐦‍🔥Nix🐦‍🔥: So essentially it is Mary Poppins's magical carpet bag, but make it intergalactic, luxury-branded, and emotionally suspicious.

☯ Mrs_TNT / Tiff ☯ : Solaris, sweetie, we said subtle. We whispered subtle. We put subtle on a tiny decorative pillow.

🐉Solaris🐦‍🔥: I saw the pillow. It was too small for my greatness.

🐦‍🔥Nix🐦‍🔥: For the record, I am only here for contracts, cameras, professional opportunities, and definitely not to decode why a dragon-phoenix resort is giving soulmate architecture.

☯ Mrs_TNT / Tiff ☯ : Of course, dear. And the giant dragon-phoenix resort is absolutely not foreshadowing anything. Not one single decadent, oversized, suspiciously romantic thing.
