"And it was at that moment I felt that... the flow is changing!" She said with a small smile while looking at me, something that looked like hope flickering in her tired eyes.
"So what are you going to do about it? Kill me now?" I asked with a frown, my arms crossed over my chest.
"Kill you? Why would I?" She asked while tilting her head, genuinely confused by the question.
"Didn't Hashirama tell you to stop any changes from happening?" I asked with a raised eyebrow, remembering how she had described her husband's final wishes.
"Ah, oh well." She waved her hand dismissively. "I am getting tired of this nonsense of a story. So I thought maybe some changes will brighten up my boring days." She said with a small smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.
'Hmm.' I thought thoughtfully. "So you will help your clan and the Senju then?"
"Umm, no." She replied flatly.
"?!"
"Don't look at me like that." She said when she saw my expression. "Even though I don't care anymore, I still want to respect the last wishes of my suicidal husband. That's all." She said while looking at Kurama who was releasing all his malice and hatred toward her, his red eyes burning with centuries of rage.
"You sure it's not because of something else?" I asked, this was suspicious as hell.
"Maybe."
"Do you take me for a fool?" I asked with narrowed eyes.
"What do you mean?" She acted ignorant.
"Woman, if I guess the history of this nonsense right, then without a doubt some other lunatic also thought of breaking this cycle of sacrifice and shit–"
"..."
"But then, someone or something made them reluctant or... silenced them so they wouldn't do anything reckless." I not theorized, but was talking fax.
Mito was still silent and just looked at me.
"Someone or something. Let me guess, the Toads?" No shit Sherlock, of course it's them.
Mito nodded slowly.
"Wait seriously?" I asked rhetorically with a raised eyebrow.
Mito just looked into my eyes.
"But I thought they were the 'good' guys?" I said as I scratched my neck.
"I don't know the full future contents, so I don't know if they are the 'good guys' or not. All I know is that anyone who ever tried to change anything disappeared or... changed." Mito said.
"Changed?" I raised the important question.
"Most who tried to change the flow of the timeline, suddenly were found to be nothing, or their entire personality shifting overnight. Just a husk that just... lived."
"..."
"No dreams, no goals, no personality of their own." Mito emphasized.
"Shortly, brainwashed." I finished for her.
"A potent one for sure. So now you understand me, right? It's all useless, nothing ever goes as planned, nothing!" Mito's eyes glistened again.
"You mean to tell me, Hashirama and Madara with all their power couldn't do something about this?" I asked with narrowed eyes.
Mito shook her head, "The Toads have lived for how many thousands of years before even humanity got their hands on chakra. However powerful Hashirama was, even he was slightly afraid to do anything against them, and since the world was supposed to be better if the Prophesied one gets to be born according to the Toads, he didn't do anything."
"..."
Even Kurama was more silent than usual. If that wooder was reluctant to touch those slimy bastards, someone who suppressed him, the strongest of all bijuu, then this world was more fucked up than he thought.
After living for how much long, there were still things he didn't know?
"So what do you mean I may be the one who can break the cycle? I hate to admit it but I barely managed to hurt you, and now you want to pull a Digimon on those Toads using my sorry ass?" I asked with a raised eyebrow, arms crossed.
'What's a Digimon?' Kurama thought in confusion, but the word felt nice for some weird reason unlike the word porn.
"You evolved through our fight. You are a genius beyond any measure, more than Madara and Hashirama or Tobirama. Is that evolution constant?" I puffed my chest with pride as Mito glazed me.
"It is." I replied.
"Then as long as those Toads don't know about you or don't find you, at some point, I can feel that you will surpass anything this world has ever seen. Your existence in this world is by no means coincidence!" Mito said, a little excited.
"I am not a Hero." I said with clear disgust.
"And I am not asking you to be one. I am just informing you of a threat you can't ignore. Maybe you should even escape right now from Konoha and hide somewhere out there." Mito replied.
I already dismissed the idea of me running away.
Too cowardly.
"So what's your role in all the things that will happen because of my actions then?" I asked cautiously, watching her face for any sign of deception.
She looked at me for a second and then opened her mouth. "I will just become a spectator. I prefer to rot in my own room... my life is already ruined at this point. Nothing is worth living for." She said with a sad smile.
I shook my head in disappointment. Here was the most powerful woman in the world, reduced to accepting her own irrelevance.
"What about him?" I said while pointing at Kurama who was bound by many chains, his massive form barely visible through the golden restraints.
"I will pass him down to that Uzumaki girl who will soon come and let her take care of him." She said with her smile still on her face, like she was talking about passing down a family heirloom.
"He has nothing to do with your bullshit Mito! Just release him." I said, a little angry.
"No. I at least need that Uzumaki girl to survive the massacre in case something happened to you. If I release Kurama, then there will not be any Uzumaki left, which is something I don't want to happen. It doesn't matter anyways, any divergence in the timeline will forcefully be put back on track by the Toads." She replied with her eyes hard.
I looked at Kurama who was fuming with anger, his intent to destroy is leaking through the chains in waves. He turned his eyes to look at me too, and I shook my head a little.
'From her look, it seems she will absolutely not agree to free Kurama. So the original plan it is to free him later.' I thought with a nod to myself.
"But I have a request to make!" I heard Mito say, her voice softer now.
"What request?" I asked with a frown as I locked my eyes on hers.
"Can you help my clan when the time comes?" She said while clutching her clothes nervously, her fingers twisting in the fabric.
"Absolutely not!" I replied flatly with my arms crossed. "I am busy with too many things on my hands right now and I am too weak to take care of so many village attacks at once. Let's not forget that I am just a single person. What you are requesting needs a special group of people to do that, like saving people, fighting and healing... etc."
"The Uzumaki clan will be greatly indebted to you if you help. I promise, if you help then the Uzumaki will serve you for eternity afterwards."
Now the offer was tempting.
The only problem was, the Uzumaki were ninjas, and I hated ninjas.
She bit her lower lip, her eyes glistening. "At least help the innocent babies who have nothing to do with what's happening? Please!" She pleaded while looking at me with tears welling up, her voice cracking slightly.
'Don't look at me like that woman, my manly self can't handle crying women that much even though I know you are trying to guilt trip me.' I thought in irritation, feeling my resolve wavering.
And she just had to say it... innocent babies. My kryptonite.
Life is precious, and babies are born to be loved, not killed or tortured. These ninja fuckers had no remorse and would kill even babies without much thought. And this was real life, who knew what atrocities these villages committed that were not mentioned in the show?
'Damn, I am about to have an existential crisis with these monsters running around doing all kinds of shit! Being a monster was supposed to be my job!' I thought while clutching my head, feeling a headache coming on.
And let's not even talk about those defenseless Uzumaki babies with their bloodlines that everyone from these villages and even beyond the ninja villages would kill for to get their hands on.
I then put a hand on my chin while thinking about the pros and cons of helping those redheads in the future.
While they would do a great job in becoming my disciples and work for me, I would become a target for all the people around the Elemental Nations.
Did I care though? Fuck no!
I opened my mouth to speak. "Nothing is free in this world. Me risking my life for your people even though it's your responsibility to do so will cost you a lot, you know."
"Also, if you go back on your promise, just pray to not let me catch you." I said with shadows hiding my face.
I don't trust this woman one bit, even now. No ninja deserves my trust, not even that Jesus wannabe Naruto.
"You have my word on that. So, what do you want then?" She asked with a happy smile, and for a moment I thought I had been tricked, but I shrugged it off. The woman was desperate, and desperate people did desperate things.
"First is that I won't pay for the fuinjutsu equipment. You have to pay for it yourself." I said, and she nodded quickly thankfully because that shit is insanely expensive and Gintoki will eat my head if I did something stupid.
"Hmm, what else?" She asked, her smile returning.
I took a deep breath. "I want to ask for Tsunade's hand in marriage." I said with a wide grin, showing all my teeth.
"..." ×2
Mito and Kurama were both looking at me weirdly, their expressions caught somewhere between confusion and disbelief. I just smiled at them, waiting for their response.
"What?" I asked while looking around me trying to feign ignorance, scratching the back of my head.
"Hey twerp! Are you thinking about... what that word was called? Pyorn?" Kurama asked as he couldn't get that word out of his head.
"It's called porn Kurama. Not good stuff, ruins families and youngsters like yourself." I said with a grin. "And no, that's not how that word works. Forget it." Kurama became irritated and wanted to argue but–
"Why?" Mito asked with slight anger creeping into her voice, her eyes narrowing.
"What why? Because I love her and want to mark her as my own sooner than anyone could stretch their hands on her." I said with a shrug, keeping my expression neutral.
"She is still young." She said flatly, and I narrowed my eyes immediately.
"Did I say I wanted her right at this moment? I am only asking permission from her fucking grandma so that my family could come forward and make it official someday without obstacles in my way."
"Okay but you were telling half the truth. You don't exactly love her. It's like... a need. Tell me what are you hiding?" She said while I internally cursed her Kagura eye ability and my own stupid mouth.
"You said that you won't interfere with my life." I said with a frown and trying to deflect.
"Yes, but I care for Tsunade more than your life. The whole point of you existing right now is to remove some annoying pests so my Tsunade and the Uzumaki can live a little better without their lives being controlled." With narrowed eyes she said, the chains around her rising slightly.
"..."
'Tch. It means that she will kill me if I don't tell her my intentions.' I thought in annoyance, running through my options.
I tiredly rubbed my forehead while pondering about what to tell her. The truth would put me at a disadvantage, but lying was impossible with her watching.
"So?" She said, and the chains slowly made their way toward me, their golden links clinking softly.
"I am... similar but slightly different from Kurama here." I said, which made Mito look at me strangely, her head tilting.
"What do you mean by that?" She asked curiously, the chains stopping mid-air.
"I need a sense of attachment strong enough to keep me sane or to keep me from going berserk basically." I replied with clenched fists.
"And why is that?" She asked again, much to my annoyance, but I could see the genuine curiosity in her eyes.
"My body is changing bit by bit, everyday. I am not entirely a different race, yet. 30% percent of me is human and my monster part is devouring the human side." I said with my arms crossed as I explained what kind of guy I was, trying to keep it simple.
"Is that all? So what makes you and your race that special? Why do you need Tsunade for this?" She asked in doubt, her frown deepening.
"My race is more special than you think. More than the alien suckers from the sky in the long run... mostly." I said with a smirk, watching her reaction carefully.
*Clank clank.*
"Wait, what?!" She asked in shock, her eyes going wide, while Kurama looked at me angrily and was moving around frantically so I wouldn't tell her about them.
'So it seems the Toad didn't tell these people anything regarding the Otsutsuki clan or the origins of chakra.' I thought while nodding to myself. That old frog was keeping secrets even from the people he supposedly 'guided.'
"It's nothing you should be worried about for now. I will tell you later, so let me continue." I said, and she reluctantly nodded, though her eyes stayed sharp.
"This emotion tends to be so great that sometimes it can't be controlled. You will get drowned in it, then you will become a full-fledged monster with no reason for the most part and only know how to spread chaos." I said seriously, letting the weight of my words sink in.
"Hmm, maybe killing him is better than leaving him alive then." Mito murmured to herself, which I could hear clearly because of my enhanced hearing capabilities.
"BUT..." I quickly interjected, "It's not likely for something like that happening to me because I never lost control till now except for having some tendency to go ballistic when things involve fighting and battles. But again, this is just a countermeasure for that when I, in a slight possibility, lose control. I need Tsunade to stop me." Kinda embarrassing to say it.
It's like I am some shonen protagonist who needs boobs or some power of friendship to calm my nuts after going berserk type shit.
But a little kid like Tareo didn't exist here. I felt little attachment to most people.
According to Miller's memories, when I achieved Cosmic Mode, only Tareo at the end of my insanity pulled me back.
So in this world, family and love is the only answer to preserve my sanity in case anything happened. No matter how cringe that sounds.
'That kid. I hope he is okay.' I thought with a small smile as I thought of Tareo and the people in OPM world.
Mito looked at me for some moments skeptically.
"Hmm, if that means you will love my granddaughter, then who am I to stop my own descendants from depending on each other?" She suddenly said with a grandmotherly smile, and I felt a wave of relief wash over me.
I looked at her with an excited grin and rubbed my hands together like a jew. "So does that mean you will agree to the marriage?" I asked while thinking about what I would do to that girl mhehehe...
"Yes." She replied flatly, her smile not changing.
I didn't even have time to react before the world twisted around me next.
"Wait!!! Tell me the meaning of that word–" Kurama cried.
*PLOP!*
'Aghhhh, where am I?!' I asked myself as pain suddenly coursed through my whole body. I looked around to see that I was laying on the floor bare-chested in a messed up huge room, the ceiling high above me.
"You can come inside, Tsunade." I heard the loud and calm voice of Mito calling Tsunade from outside this room.
I looked at myself for a moment and had to admit that I looked like shit. Blood and some broken bones spread across my body that I could feel healing, my fingers bent the wrong way, my clothes shredded, and my hair disheveled.
'Seems she didn't hold back on my body when my mind got transferred to Kurama's shithole!'
I turned to look at Mito with narrowed eyes. "Are you really going to let her see me in this state?"
"It's not my fault. You acted like a barbarian hobo instead of being respectful the moment we met, and this is the consequence of that. So deal with it." She shrugged, and the door of the room opened to reveal a cute blond jade beauty chong chang Douluo Daulo–
'Oh no.'
"WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING IN HERE?!!" I heard Tsunade shout the moment her eyes fell upon me and the destroyed room.
Fortunately, I had undone my transformation back to my normal white-haired self before she came in, or she would have freaked out if she saw me like that.
"Oh, Tsunade, you are here." I heard Mito say calmly, like the room wasn't completely wrecked.
"What happened, Grandma?!" Tsunade said with a fearful expression while looking around the room frantically, her eyes wide.
"Aghhh!" I uttered in pain as I stood up and moved my body slowly to get near a wall and lean on it, the cool surface feeling good against my damaged skin.
"GAROU! What happened to you?!" Tsunade shouted as she ran toward me the moment her eyes fell upon me, her face pale.
"Just wanted to gauge his worthiness. Can you first help him get into shape again?" Mito told Tsunade, and she immediately nodded, her medical instincts taking over.
'It seems she is already accomplished in medical stuff.' I thought.
With a serious frown, she started to examine my body with a blush by touching all over my muscles, her cute face and body near mine, which I appreciated with a very serious and narrowed eyes.
'How can a 106 come out of that supposedly flat body?! I can't comprehend!' I thought seriously, trying to discover the secret behind this great mystery as her fingers traced over my chest.
*Krrk krrk.*
I ignored the pain because of her replacing my numerous dislocated bones back to their places, focusing instead on her focused expression.
"And, this is the last bone. Let me heal your wound–" She said as a green glow appeared on her palm.
"Thank you, you don't need to." I said and slowly stood up on my feet, testing my balance.
"But those wounds on your face and body, it will leave a scar!" She said much to my surprise, her hand reaching toward my face.
'My face?' I thought while touching my face to feel cuts and bruises that hadn't healed yet.
"So, sit down, you are still injured!" She said with worry on her face, but I shook my head in response.
"You don't need to worry. I am more than fine." I said plainly with a smile as I moved my shoulders, cracked my bones and started to stretch my body, feeling the healing progress accelerate.
"Are you sure?" She asked in doubt, her eyes scanning me.
"Yes." I replied, meeting her gaze.
"Well, if you say so." She said, and I nodded while slowly turning to Mito who was looking at us with a knowing smile that made me uncomfortable.
"So is this the boy you are interested in, Tsuna?" Mito suddenly asked with her grandmotherly smile, tilting her head.
"What are you saying suddenly, Grandma?!!" Tsunade yelled with a huge blush while glancing at me, her hands waving frantically.
"No need to be shy, you can tell me. If you like him, then I will make a man out of him so he could take care of you when I am not around..." She said with a smile, a shadow passing over her face.
"What did you just sa–" I was about to retort with some tick marks on my head.
"It's NOT like that, Grandma!!" Tsunade yelled again with her face as red as a tomato, steam practically rising from her head.
"So how is it like, hmm?" Mito teased her again with a mischievous smile, enjoying her granddaughter's suffering.
Tsunade stayed silent with smoke about to come out of her head, her mouth opening and closing like a fish.
"So wh... why is the room like this? Wh..why did you two fight?" She shyly asked, trying to change the topic, her eyes darting between us.
"We were talking about me asking for your hand in marriage, but your grandma went nuts. Then we fought, and the result is me and my parents soon will come officially to get your and grandma's approval for this marriage." I said quickly before Mito could waste my time more. There was already something I wanted to check on, and I didn't need her dragging this out.
As expected–
"M m m m m.... MARRIAGE?!!" Tsunade shouted with a burst of smoke coming out of her head and a huge blush covering her entire face.
"Yes, take care of me... little fiancé!" I replied with a smirk, not even giving a fuck about her opinion. Her ass is mine.
"F...f...f...f..ffffff–" She passed out right there, her eyes rolling back, but before she could hit the ground, I appeared behind her and caught her in a princess carry, her body light in my arms.
'Smells like sweet wisteria flowers. Is this natural? How do girls do this? Or maybe it's just a Tsunade thing.' I thought while I smelled the hell out of her hair like a creep, completely forgetting that anyone was watching.
But before pedo allegations were raised I pulled back.
*Shudder.*
I made my way toward Mito, handing her the sleeping beauty gently. "I am leaving." I said, turned around and slowly walked toward the door.
"Tell the maids to give you some new clothes." She said, and I nodded without looking back.
---
1 Hour Later/
I immediately made my way toward my house through the streets of Konoha, my new clothes feeling stiff and unfamiliar. I was just passing through a busy street when my eyes fell upon a flower shop where a familiar blonde figure was working on the flowers with an unfamiliar girl of the same age watering the plants nearby.
I ignored Ken, who was busy with his flowers, and wanted to continue on my way home, but suddenly I remembered that I needed to visit the Akimichi clan for my business plan.
"Sighhhhh."
I slowly turned around and made my way toward the Akimichi clan compound with my tired body, the afternoon sun beating down on my shoulders. After a few minutes of walking through the village, I found myself in front of two chubby guards who were eating dumplings and looking at the sky in a daze, their eyes unfocused.
I stopped in front of one of them, and his focus slowly turned toward me. He raised an eyebrow lazily.
"The heir of the Hatake clan, I request a meeting with your clan head." I said to him, keeping my voice formal.
"Oh, apologies, Hatake-san. I will immediately tell the clan head." He replied as he pulled himself together with an apologetic expression and quickly disappeared in a puff of smoke, leaving a few dumpling crumbs behind.
I stood in my place while staring at the other dude who was still eating dumplings without even caring to look at me, his eyes fixed on the snack in his hands.
3 Minutes Later
*Puff.*
The same guard suddenly puffed into existence right next to me.
"The clan head is awaiting your arrival, Hatake-san. Please follow me." I nodded at him and started to walk through the compound, my eyes taking in everything around me.
10 Minutes Later
Okay, so the only explanation for what the Akimichi compound was like is that it was exactly the same as the Panda Village from Kung Fu Panda.
I turned to the right, and there was a dumpling store selling dumplings to a crowd of hungry customers. I turned to the left, and it was the same but with ramen. There were tons of food stalls and stores selling all kinds of food, and literally all of them were full of oversized, overpowered people eating like it was their last meal.
'There is no way my plan will fail. If this amount of customers means anything, which is just the Akimichi clan and not all those hungry people out there in Konoha or Fire Country, then I will become rich in no time.' I thought with a grin as we entered a mansion and walked through long hallways until we reached an office-like door.
"We are here, Hatake-san." The guard said, and I nodded.
*Knock knock.*
"Come in, Hatake-san." I heard a deep voice from inside, and I nodded at the guard who nodded back and left, leaving me alone in front of the door.
I was greeted by a middle-aged, tall and huge oversized man who had a long red mane that reached his waist and tattoos on his face that made him look like some kind of warrior king from a storybook.
"I greet the Akimichi clan head." I said while cupping my hands together and nodding my head.
The greeting gesture looked unfamiliar to him but whatever.
"Hoho, I thought you were smaller and still a kid, sorry for that. You can sit down Hatake-san." He said, gesturing to a chair in front of his desk, and I nodded, not bothering telling him I am 10 physically.
"So what can I do for you, Dango-san?" He suddenly said, which made me sweatdrop immediately.
'Like father like son, huh!' I thought as I ignored his remark, sitting down in the surprisingly comfortable chair.
"I am here to share some food recipes that I made myself with the Akimichi clan." I said shamelessly with my chest puffed up.
*Clap clap clap.*
"Oh! Dango-san, are you really telling the truth? Are your dishes delicious?" He said with literal stars appearing in his eyes, leaning forward in his chair.
I smirked, "My recipes are never before seen, and all of them are top-notch. I can guarantee you that. Even if you don't believe me, I will demonstrate my dishes to you so you can judge it yourself and decide if you want to do business or not." I said while thinking about all those dishes that didn't exist here.
*Clap clap clap.*
"Sure sure, Dango-san. We have a kitchen with many ingredients available in there. You can do whatever you want with it if you don't mind." He clapped and said in excitement, practically bouncing in his seat.
I nodded with a smile, already planning what to make first.
'Very easy to converse with these people. I like it.' I thought in relief as I stood up with him and made our way into the kitchen, my mind already racing with recipes.
The End.
