Chapter 47 - Monster 2

Monster?

Does this man really understand what he's saying? He has no idea what kind of monster he's facing now.

If he knew how many have gone to hell by this hand...

He would call me the Harbinger of Hell.

He would wet his clothes in fear and might leave the institute and run away because I would be inside.

I am more than a monster; I am the direct and explicit definition of destruction and chaos.

I am the one who always enters the final party and leaves first.

But if you look closely at my clothes, you'll find them stained with blood, not for any reason but for fun. We go to parties for fun.

Killing is easier for me than breathing, and you would realize that the loud music has completely disappeared, and there is no more laughter.

Instead, there is the sound of crying and screaming because death has become a guest at the place.

I used to kill children without mercy, rape women, and burn houses. I was the supreme ruler of my world and the strongest criminal. My name was the law, and my actions were the constitution.

I didn't care about anyone's feelings. All I wanted was to destroy this miserable world.

I remember one of the beautiful times.

I was feeling very bored. Boredom is the ugliest feeling one can experience.

So, I decided to visit a noble police officer in his beautiful, quiet home.

I entered with my men while he was having intercourse with his wife, that bastard. His wife was truly beautiful.

So, I wanted him to see how it's done properly. It was merely an educational lesson.

I ordered my men to tie up that stupid officer.

After I did what I wanted and gave him one of the best lessons, his wife started screaming, so their baby woke up when I heard his voice.

I thought of something and approached the officer's ear and whispered:

"Do you love your child?"

He looked at me with great astonishment.

I ordered my men to take his wife and bring her outside. I went to their baby.

He was truly a beautiful baby, so cute.

"Stay away from my child," he said, screaming.

But my men held him down strongly.

I looked at him and placed his child on the table in front of him. I went into the kitchen and came back with a knife.

I started stabbing the table strongly and quickly, moving the knife towards the child.

That stupid officer was looking and screaming.

Screaming.

Trying to break free from my men's grip, but that man was truly stupid. Because of his movements and screams, I couldn't control my hand and mistakenly killed his child with one strike.

But it didn't end there.

The next day, the police came and found:

A child killed on the table with three knife wounds, his intestines spilling out.

A woman hanging on the wall, naked and disfigured.

And the officer hanging in the air by his head with a long rope.

He had committed suicide.

There was something written in blood on the walls. After examination and investigations, they discovered it was written by the officer with his child's blood.

Joker is a monster.

That's what was written on the walls of the entire apartment.

In the end, the case was closed against an unknown assailant.

I am that unknown who does all these heinous things.

So, I don't know how to answer this stupid man's question in front of me.

(Are you a monster?)

I looked at him and laughed loudly. I believe everyone heard the sound of my laughter.

"Do you want to see if I am a monster or not?" I said, looking at him with my damned smile.

(I don't need to see anything; I've seen everything already. I think the curse has fallen on the Star Institute,) he said, on the verge of crying from fear. I didn't understand what was happening, why a strong man at level 100 would fear a child.

So, I looked at him, trying to decipher something from his facial features, but all I saw was fear.

What did this man see when he placed his hand on... but his trembling voice interrupted my thoughts, saying:

(Inside.)

I moved towards the door, and my body withdrew inside.

When I came out, I found myself in another city, but it was a bit smaller than Sky City.

There were many statues, some holding swords, others holding magic wands.

The statues lined the path in front of me, and when I finished the path, I found many people.

A hideous-looking man stood beside me, resembling a dirty pig. He looked at me strangely and spoke quickly:

(Why are you here?)

Before I could answer, he continued:

(I killed my wife last night. I used a tooth drill to pierce her skull. I waited to see a dove come out of her head, but instead, a big black crow came out, so I fled and came here.)

I left this man without looking at him. This man had gone mad because of his wife.

I remember one day, early in my criminal life, I was at the wedding of an important criminal.

An older man with a long beard with some white hair sat next to me. He was immobile and one-eyed, smoking some cigarettes.

He said to me after he ran out of tobacco:

The fool marries a beautiful woman, he said, laughing.

And the normal man marries an average woman.

I looked at him and said:

And what does the wise man do?

He looked around, then looked at me and said:

Let this old man's secret stay with you, to protect him from his wife's wrath.

If I die, report me.

The wise do not marry.

I believe this man hit the heart of the truth with this statement.

And I am reporting him now because I was the one who sent him to hell a few years later at his wife's request.

Before he died, he told me that killing takes away the soul.

And his head hung above my bed so I would never forget what he said.

I moved among the standing people; the lowest level among them was 40.

There were beautiful girls, strong men, strange tools, and swords. Many of them had a deathly look on their faces.

All these people had faced death one day. I know that because I have faced it more than anyone else.

Everyone was talking while I stood silently.

Suddenly, I heard a loud voice coming from behind.

(Jooooookeerrr!)

I looked and saw Shard approaching. I don't know why, but I was happy to see him. This man is truly good and strong.

He approached me with a big, happy smile on his face.

(You really entered the institute,) he said, smiling broadly.

"Yes, I did. But what's the benefit of the man outside? What does he do?" I asked, puzzled.

(I didn't know either, but after asking some people, they told me he can see the ugliest battles you've been in and the most horrible ways you've killed your opponents.)

So that's why there was all this terror inside him. I don't know what he saw, but I'm sure the product he saw was high-quality. It was a top-notch horror movie, so I understood his facial expression.

As I was thinking, a loud voice echoed, clearly heard even from afar:

It fell silent for a while, then said:

Fear dominated the place, silence its faithful follower. But I laughed.

I couldn't contain myself. I laughed so hard my body shook with ecstasy.

Everyone looked at me in amazement.

Shard looked at me and said:

I tried to control myself, looked at Shard, and said:

"This fool doesn't know that I am..."

"Death," I said, with that damned smile on my face.
