Chapter 281 - Graduation Party?

Time flowed like water.

In the blink of an eye, a couple of months had passed, and Oliver had been through many things during that period of time.

First, he continued spending time with Elle, training hard each day to get stronger and improve his fighting skills.

It turned into something enjoyable when he could go head-to-head against Elle, who was more skilled in hand-to-hand combat and gave him tough battles.

She was still superior in skill, but Oliver was getting better with each match as he learned to read her movements, predicting her attacks and reacting accordingly.

Secondly, as part of their agreement, Oliver started to learn about business management from Mia and Anna, gaining more experience on how to handle a company.

This proved to be both tedious and complicated, requiring great concentration on his part.

And sometimes, it wasn't even possible due to Mia and Anna's constant teasing, as they always found opportunities to seduce him and rob him of his focus.

Despite that, they didn't hold anything back. Every lesson taught him more and more about what it takes to lead a company.

It was very insightful, although not something that could be learned overnight.

So, the main purpose of Oliver's education in company management wasn't learning everything itself but making it easier for him to connect and form an understanding of what it actually means to lead a business.

It was like playing an RPG, where you slowly learn about how certain mechanics work while also being able to play the game right away and having fun while you get better at it.

During this time, he was so busy that he couldn't find time to go out of the mansion and enjoy himself, except for the times when he was learning to drive better.

The amount of sex he had also diminished dramatically in comparison to before.

Although he did play around whenever he had the urge due to side effects from the drug, it was mostly just a quickie before he moved on with whatever he had to do next.

Oliver thought that this situation might end up lasting forever, but fortunately, the time for the drug to take effect was over in just the first two weeks, allowing him to focus better and not get too distracted from his activities.

Even his final exams of high school, which he was supposed to attend, were conducted in the mansion thanks to the special donations given to the school.

This all happened without much issue thanks to William's help in the background, but Oliver didn't want to ask how much his grandfather donated for them to agree.

However, it didn't matter that much, considering he got to avoid the boring examinations in school, where everyone was more tense than usual and filled with anxiety over performing well or not.

By the time all these things were finished, Oliver was able to relax, as he got through most of the important things without any problems.

The rest was something he could take his time and learn through experience as he worked within the company.

But during one morning...

"Hello? Oliver?"

A familiar female voice rang in Oliver's ears when he picked up his phone.

"It's been so long, Brenda. How are you doing?" Oliver greeted with a bright smile.

There was a momentary silence as the other person on the line seemed stunned by the fact he picked up at the first ring.

But then, Brenda cleared her throat before she lightly retorted, "Aren't you quite the busy guy... How come you picked it up so fast? Not to mention the fact that you've been ignoring my calls and messages, even."

"Aww. I didn't ignore you, though. I was just busy with all sorts of stuff going on with my life," Oliver explained with a gentle tone that eased Brenda's frustration a little.

Then she heaved a heavy sigh before asking, "Okay. I see. But you could've still messaged me, at least. It's not nice to keep girls hanging like that..."

"I know. I'm sorry. I promise to not do that again." Oliver was sincere as he apologized.

He remembered how Mia took his phone away before, preventing him from spending time chatting and playing with it.

She had given him his new phone just now, so there wasn't any time for him to check anything before Brenda called.

Oliver waited for Brenda to say something. When she didn't reply for a while, he couldn't help but feel awkward, wondering if he offended her and she was mad.

But then, she sighed once more and said, "Fine... I understand... So, are you done with your stuff now? Because at noon, there's going to be a graduation party at our school, and I hope you can make it there."

"Graduation party? Oh wait..." Oliver realized that the exam's results were already out, so it would be the last time when most of them would be seeing each other for a while.

Since their lives would be taking different paths starting from now on, there was no doubt it'd be the occasion where everyone would have a lot to say to each other.

Oliver took a short look at the time and saw it was still ten o'clock in the morning.

He got up from the bed and walked towards his wardrobe.

"I'll definitely be there," Oliver replied confidently. "Where should we meet?"

"Outside the auditorium. See you!" Brenda didn't waste time and ended the call there.

"She seemed rather upset." Oliver thought back to the way Brenda sounded when she talked and frowned.

Oliver didn't linger on these thoughts much, however. He changed out of his clothes into more appropriate ones and headed downstairs.

'I wonder how they'd react upon seeing me today... After all, I did kind of change over the past couple of months,' Oliver mused to himself as he stepped into the garage.
