At the place Baka pointed, Capybara-sama was sitting in the fallen-leaf bed… but her condition was different from usual.
"Her breathing is rough. She looks like she's suffering."
"It's true. What's wrong?"
"I don't know… She won't even eat green grass."
Baka brought green grass to her mouth but Capybara-sama didn't try to eat.
Capybaras ferment grass with intestinal bacteria to digest and absorb. If there is no grass the intestinal bacteria will die out. Therefore capybaras need to continuously eat grass without pause.
That's why at zoos besides feed given at fixed times like morning noon evening, dried pasture timothy is always placed so they can eat anytime.
I tried carrying not green grass but dried pasture to her mouth but Capybara-sama didn't eat.
"Is her stomach condition bad? Did she eat properly today?"
"…She hasn't eaten much since lunch."
When Baka stretched her hand Capybara-sama moved her neck as if refusing to be stroked.
"Uuu…"
