In a bedroom apartment on earth, three girls surround and read a light novel on a desktop computer and upon reaching the end of the chapter close the page with a sigh and just as suddenly begin to tear up and rage.
"No no no. this can't be happening, I refuse to believe this"
"Why will the author kill him and so pathetically at that… if I meet that damn author, I will definitely stick a knife through his heart"
"How dare he fool us this way"
These otaku girls were angry because the week before, the author had done a survey on who was the fan favorite with Asura coming out on top with 22 votes more than the protagonist himself, Xu wei. This though wouldn't have caused much of a stir if it wasn't for the fact that almost 10 chapter later, Asura had a devastating end due to his love interest and mate, Yu ling, meeting the protagonist and falling in love with him. They then proceeded to poison Asura and then surround him with the protagonist and his heroines. It was the most pathetic and unfitting end to their favorite in their eyes
They were soon diverted by a notification on their phones. Glancing at the message notification popup showed a limited edition sale happening in a supermarket near them for an Asura figure named "the last stand". Declaring it as a must have, two of them (one with bangs covering her eyes and the other with a glasses and a braided hair) left the room. The last one still left in the room picked her coat and scarf from the wardrobe beside the bed and dashed out meeting her friend already waiting for her.
"Come on… let's go"
The one with the bangs covering her hetero-chromic eyes donned an ear muffler and a scarf over a thick coat urged out towards her friend as they impatiently left the house. Unlocking their door, they were met with the chilly air, slippery floor and blankets of snow. This though does not deter them as they lock their door and begin to dash towards the supermarket.
"We may not make it in time… call a taxi"
The second one with the glasses and braided hair while wearing a bonnie cap and a jacket sweater called out. Realizing the blunder, they hailed a taxi and continued on their destination.
On the way, due to boredom, the third one with the scarf and coat with her hair in a twin tail fashion and freckles on her face and unlocked her phone and was greeted with reviews and comments notification popups about the authors abrupt decision to kill Asura. As expected, many of the reviews and comments were negative with many threatening to drop the book if such a stunt is pulled again.
"Serves you right" she says as she smirks. This catches the attention of the rest of them
"What happened, sienna?" the girl wearing the glasses questioned
"Oh nothing, alia" sienna replied
"Then why were you just smirking to yourself?" she asked once again.
"Oh that… check the book's reviews and you'll understand why" sienna replied back.
"Hey is it just me or does the car feel more slippery than usual?" the girl with bangs asked.
"I thought it was just me" the girl with glasses answered
Confused and intrigued, sienna dropped her phone and tried to feel and understand what is going on only for the car to try to make an abrupt stop with which the road absolutely negated.
Crashing through a traffic light pole on the sidewalk, they miraculously survived. With the girl in glasses, alia, passing through the windshield, the girl in bangs, Katherine, hitting the left window and sienna hitting the right one. Despite their lethal injuries, they were still alive albeit barely.
As if that wasn't enough, a truck came over and ran over them giving them absolutely no chance to survive and an instantaneous death.
