The ringing of his phone disturbed Noah's peaceful sleep. When he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was his wife, Natasha, curled up comfortably in his arms.
Noah really didn't want to get up, but the phone kept ringing relentlessly, leaving him with no choice but to move.
Trying not to disturb Natasha, he reached for the phone on the bedside table with one hand while keeping his other arm wrapped around her.
"Why did you take so long to answer? You must still be asleep. I've been calling you for a while now," his mother, Citra, said without even saying hello.
"Good morning to you too, Mom," Noah replied in his usual raspy, just-woken-up voice.
"Fine, good morning, then. I'm not calling to bother you. I just want to know when you two are coming back. Most of the guests have already left, and Irene and I are about to head home, too. I need to check the preparations for the next reception," Citra explained.
"I'll ask Natasha first, Mom," Noah replied.
