In the morning, Ryuko and Tomoko anxiously watched the stairs while the other girls looked at them with amused smiles as they drank tea that Mrs. Yoshiko was serving them. Though the girls couldn't help but look at them with curiosity because, although they were beautifully dressed and made up, the two were wearing the same outfit, as if they had coordinated uniforms. At that moment, Kai calmly came down the stairs, which caused Tomoko and Ryuko to jump from their places to take him by the hands.

Tomoko gave a leap as she happily announced, landing right next to Ryuko, at which point she spun around, making her white dress and purse—the same model as Ryuko's—flutter in the air. Once she finished spinning, Tomoko looked at Kai and announced in a cheerful, love-struck tone.
"We wanted to do something special for you, and after a lot of thinking, we came up with this!"
