We came out on the other side to a familiar area, the Pyramid, filled with abandoned cars
As we got closer, further ahead we could see a perimeter of cop cars surrounding the Pyramid as special forces trained their guns on the building
Even from all the way outside we could hear the screams of people being terrorized
Sam: Hey, can you guys hear me?
Eddie: Loud and clear Sam, what are we dealing with
Sam: After scanning the area, it looks like there's a total of 38 survivors, in a building full of stage one Thorns
Eddie: Got it
J: Anybody got a game plan
Isaac: I got a plan, take out anything that moves, and don't let anyone get in your way
Mike: Hell yeah, I'm down
Eddie: Hell no, what
You guy's do know we're the good guys right
Mike: Debatable
Eddie: Oh, well this is gonna go well
Sam: uh, Guys, you kinda have people running for their lives in there, but yeah ok, sure, this is more important, take your time
Eddie: Right, how about this, we get everyone to safety first then, you can do whatever you're heart desires, deal?
Isaac: I can live with that
Mike: A little boring but ok
J: Sounds good
Eddie: Hey, What the hell, let's make it a game
Who ever kills the most demons wins but, it only starts after we get everyone to safety
Isaac: Now that's more I like it
Mike: Well, what are we waiting for, let's hurry up and get these people out of my way
Officer 1: WE NEED BACKUP!!
Eddie: Hey, you guys need a hand
Officer 1: YOU GUYS NEED TO STAY BACK, IT'S TOO DANGEROUS
Mike: Oh I think we can manage
Officer 1: NO I'M GONNA NEED ALL OF YOU TO...
Officer 2: LOOK OUT!!
An entire forklift smashed thru the building of one of the top floors and a man was flung out of the machine
Mike: I got him
Mike flew up and caught the man
The forklift hit the ground hard and began bareling towards the perimeter
With everything happening so fast it was too late for everyone to take cover
Eddie: ISAAC!!
Isaac: I'M ON IT!!
Isaac quickly got everyone into one large group around J
I slammed on the ground
The impact was powerful enough to create ripples in the ground, in an attempt to slow down the lift
But it didn't go quite as planned
The machinery slammed into the stone wall creating more incoming debri
J kept everyone safe from with in by creating a force field
I lifted one of the squad cars up and the forklift smashed into it as I held it in place
I gently put the vehicles down and J took down the forcefield
Eddie: You guy's alright
The crowd began cheering and applauding us
Officer 1: Yeah, Yeah, I think so, Thanks to you guys
Mike: You're welcome
Isaac: No problem
Eddie: Sorry about the car
Officer 1: Hey, don't worry about it, we're just grateful to be alive
Eddie: Glad to hear it, we'll take it from here
Officer 1: Of course, is there anything we can do
Mike: Yeah, leave
Eddie: Hold on, not yet
We're gonna be evacuating everyone out of the the building, when we're done we need you and your team to take them somewhere safe until we can finish up here
Eddie: Oh and pass these out to your team, and anyone we save
We gave them the care packages we had
Eddie: It's the salvation the Lord has promised us, but in order for us to be truly saved we have to be willing to listen and obey
Follow the instructions and God will do the rest, he will protect and keep your families safe
Officer 1: Ok understood
Eddie: Good, thank you
Officer 1: No, Thank you, we'll be standing by
Mike begin elevating off the ground and flew towards the building
Mike: You guys coming
Eddie: Right behind you
We went in to see the whole place being overrun with Shadow demons
People ran in every which way to try to escape, but there was no hiding from these things
Eddie: Ok, Isaac, Me and Mike will evaluate everyone from down here, I need you clear the top floors
But I wouldn't trust the elevators so, tell everyone to take the stairs
Isaac: Ok
J, you stay down here with us and guard the exits, keep the Thorns in, while letting the survivors out
J: Sounds good
Eddie: Oh, And guy's, try not too use you're weapons unless you have to, there's way too many people running around and we don't wanna take any chances
Them: Got it
J got into position as we hurriedly escorted any survivors to the exits, while taking down any Thorns that got in the way
Survivor: THANK YOU, THANK YOU SO MUCH
Eddie: NO PROBLEM, NOW GO, WE HAVE OFFICERS OUTSIDE THAT ARE GONNA GET YOU AND YOU'RE FAMILY SOMEWHERE SAFE
Survivor: OK
Isaac: HEY, ALL THE UPPER FLOORS ARE CLEAR
Mike: YEAH, I'M NOT SEEING ANYONE ELSE DOWN HERE EITHER
Eddie: OK GOOD, WHERE WE AT SAM, THAT SHOULD BE EVERYONE, RIGHT
Sam: Yeah I think so, WAIT NO THERE'S STILL ONE MORE SURVIVOR
Eddie: OK, WHERE AT?
Sam: Looks like the 3rd FLOOR
Isaac: WHAT, THERE'S NO WAY, I CHECKED EVERY FLOOR
Eddie: It's fine bro, they probably just got lost in the crowd
Stay down here and help, Michael and J take out these shadow demons
Isaac: What about the bet
Eddie: This is more important, it's fine, think of it as me giving you guys a head start
J: You're gonna regret that
Eddie: Yeah we'll see
Mike: Ok call us if you need us
Eddie: Ok, see you in a bit
I left them downstairs to take care of the demon problem
While I ran up to the 3rd floor to find the last survivor
Eddie: Ok Sam, a little help
Sam: You're on your own, I can't see anything specific over here, only what floor there on
Eddie: Oh great
Sam: Sorry
Eddie: It's fine, just might take a little longer then I thought
I began my search
Unfortunately the power was out in the building, so the only light we really had was from the sun, but as I continued looking for the last civilian, I could see the sun setting
Meaning it was only going to get darker making my search increasingly harder, and not only that but I also had to stay quite
Since this area of the building was still crawling with Thorns I didn't want to draw too much attention to myself
Whispers: Eddie
As I searched one of the rooms, Amber's voice called to me once more
Whispers: This way
I fallowed her to a broken mirror in the bathroom
The pink glow from her emblem was the only thing keeping the room from being in complete darkness
I put my hand on the mirror
Amber: HE'S COMING!!
YOU DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME!!
PLEASE, EDDIE!!
REGROUP WITH YOU'RE FRIEND'S AND LEAVE!!
NOW!!
STATIC!!!
A sudden call from Sam snapped me back to reality
Sam: WAIT...EDDIE...THERE'S...MORE THEN... ONE!!
Eddie: What?
Sam
What are you saying, I can't hear you
Sam: TWO... HEARTBEATS....NOT...YOURS!!
LOUD RIIIINNNNG!!
Eddie: AH!!
My earpiece started ringing
In order to not blown my cover, I took it out, threw it on the ground and stumped on it
Eddie: Shit, sorry Sam
Kid: HELP ME!!
PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP!!
As I checked one of the rooms I could hear a cry for help from somewhere close by
Soon after, I saw someone run past the room I was in
Eddie: HEY, WAIT!!
COME BACK!!
Thorns: RAAAAAR!!
Naturally after shouting for the kid to stop, the Thorns became aware of my presence
(Well, so much for keeping a low profile)
Eddie: Damn it
