When Long Linger returned to the bedroom, she found Sunny's tiny figure leaning against the window, gazing outside, a gesture that truly surprised her.
She hurried over and picked Sunny up, "Babe, why aren't you asleep?"
"Mommy, Daddy, I saw Daddy!" Sunny said in his childish voice.
"Oh, alright, I saw him too. Let's go to sleep now!"
Long Linger picked up the mischievous little one again and placed him on the bed, and he immediately sat up again.
"Mommy, does Daddy not want us anymore?"
"No, of course not. For now, we aren't going home because there are some issues Mommy and Daddy need to resolve. Once those issues are resolved, we will go back, okay?"
Sunny gazed at Long Linger with big eyes for a long time before slowly crawling to one side and hugging a teddy bear.
The little one looked downcast, thinking he was upset, Long Linger reached out and poked his little nose, "What's wrong, not happy?"
