After a long journey, the airship finally reached the Middle Territory.
Li Shenrong departed for the Shen family alongside Shen Shou. Before leaving, Gu Zhen personally handed him a pendant, saying, "If you ever face trouble, come find me at the Gu family."
The Shen family was located within the Jade Sky Kingdom, so it took them some time to reach its borders.
"Young master, this must be your first time here, let me tell you about the general situation." Shen Shou started speaking, spitting his saliva everywhere. Li Shenrong silently distanced himself from this nasty fatty.
"As you know the Jade Sky Kingdom is a first rate kingdom but lower tier. And our Shen family is under the rule of the Sky Swallowing king. There are five major power that holds up the pillar of the Jade Sky kingdom, The Green Bamboo mountain, the Tie family, the Liu family, the Yang radiance sect. The five of us keeps each other in check but recently the situation changed." With that said a trace of worry flash in his eyes.
"Because our family head's cultivation has declined, the balance of power shifted. The Green Bamboo Mountain allied with the Tie family, while the Yang Radiance Sect and Liu family have joined forces to suppress us."
Li Shenrong nodded slightly. "When two sides fight, they naturally don't want a third to benefit. Suppressing the weakest first is only expected."
"Yes, if not for the Sky Swallowing King intervening, we would've already been driven out from the kingdom." Shen Shou said solemnly.
Li Shenrong smiled, "The Sky swallowing king wants balance within his kingdom. Once the balance is broken, his authority will be undermined."
"Recently, the Yang Radiance Sect and the Tie family have been constantly finding trouble with us. They haven't crossed the line, but the pressure is immense." Shen Shou glanced around cautiously before lowering his voice. "To tell the truth, young master, this time I didn't travel to the Middle Territory merely for business. My real goal was to search for the previous family head."
He sighed heavily. "But alas, the family head went missing during the Great Demon Calamity. His whereabouts remain unknown. If he were still here, how could our family fall to such a state? How would the Yang Radiance Sect and Tie family dare to act so arrogantly?"
"Now that the previous family had hadn't appeared even after we suffering such set back, they are getting suspicious." Shen Shou calmed down as he continued.
"But, young master Li, this time you could be our saviour. If you are able to win in the martial arena, get a spot to enter the Ancient Blazing Heaven star dynasty, don't forget to lend us a hand." At this point Shen Shou rubbed his palm, his face full of flattering smile.
Li Shenrong chuckled, "It's not up to me. It depends on the sincerity of your Shen family."
"Of course, of course." Shen Shou replied quickly, realizing the deeper meaning behind his words.
Before long, the grand estate of the Shen family appeared on the horizon. A group of guards greeted them respectfully, Shen Shou was, after all, an important figure within the family.
After settling Li Shenrong in a guest room, Shen Shou and Shen Lin left to report to the family head.
"It seems the fatty truly worries about the family a lot." Li Shenrong thought.
He sat down in meditative position and closed his eyes. Fragments of chaos energy slowly enveloped his body, intertwining, clashing, and fusing endlessly. The mysteries of the Style of Genesis was being derived by him.
At times, the chaos fragments took the form of dragons, other times, they resembled misty water vapor or the silhouettes of unknown life forms. A small vacuum of distorted time and space formed around him, as if his physical body didn't exist within this time and space.
Though the effect was faint and far from perfect, achieving such a phenomenon at his current realm was nothing short of miraculous.
Gradually, the derivation slowed down, and the chaos fragments dissipated. Li Shenrong's body returned to normal, drenched in sweat.
"Cultivating the Style of Genesis is really arduous. This could be considered the hardest of the all to understand its profundities. If not for my vast accumulation, there was no way i would've been able to cultivate it with my current strength." Li Shenrong thought inwardly, "Even though the progress is slow but my gains are bountiful."
"Looks like i need to advance my cultivation realm." With that said he closed his eyes again, wanting to breakthrough and become a Heavenly King.
Li Shenrong's cultivation realm long since entered perfection and his foundation was also solid. His nirvanic arts also couldn't be pushed further through derivation and comprehension. The only way was to increase his cultivation or in actual battle.
Few hours later, the sky above the Shen mansion turned dark. Terrifying dark clouds gathered above as golden thunder flickered unceasingly. Within a radius of a hundred miles, all spiritual energy was drawn toward one point and it was Li Shenrong's room. The phenomenon caused a great stir throughout the city.
The entire Shen family became alarmed.
"What's happening?" An elder exclaimed fearfully.
"The Qi concentration has multiplied severalfold! Find the source quickly! If this vortex persists, it might trigger an Icyflame Qi Disaster!" Someone shouted.
"If it was before the calamity then the increase in Qi would've been a joyous news but after the calamity the rules of heaven and earth has changed." The Chief guard of the Shen family sighed.
"It doesn't look like man made. Could it be…!?" A middle aged man gazed above, trace of confusion and shock appeared in his eyes. He was the second brother of the Shen family head, having the highest authority below him as well as elder brother of Shen Shou.
"Humm? Wha is it?" Another elder asked, sensing his hesitation.
"If i remember correctly, when a Godking undergoes cultivation progression, the heaven and earth would react accordingly, blessing him with the truth of the great dao. But this is happening right above us, and our family doesn't even have a single Demigod, let alone a Godking." Shen Yu spoke, his voice was solemn.
"Then doesn't that mean someone here has invoked heaven and earth's reaction?" The elder asked with a frown.
"That's what I intend to find out." Shen Yu closed his eyes and extended his spiritual sense, quietly sensing the flow of Qi. A moment later, his eyes snapped open, gazing at a certain direction. "The guest hall!"
Without hesitation, he and the elder shot into the sky, flying straight where Li Shenrong was.
