My fist smashed hard on Kaden's torso, jerking him awake, while the contraction drew a loud cry from me and tensed every nerve in my body.
"Kaden," I gasped, breathing too fast. "Kaden, the baby is coming."
His eyes flew open. "What?"
I couldn't answer properly. Another wave was already rolling through me, stealing the words from my mouth. I bent forward with one hand pressed to my stomach, the other fisting the sheets while I tried to breathe through it and failed.
He was up in a second, one arm around me, his face tight as he looked me over.
Then warmth rushed between my thighs.
I froze.
Oh God.
My breath caught, then came back too fast.
"My water just broke."
He took one look at the bed and cursed.
"Shit."
