Finally unveiling his eyes, Cassiel stares in disbelief at his surroundings, wondering what it was that he even stood on.
"You... what have you done, Falvi..."
Without a word, Falvi leapt forward, grabbing Cassiel by the face to slam him into a wall of indistinguishable light.
"I'm doing what's necessary."
Dragging the back of Cassiel's head up the wall of light, Falvi grips tighter onto Cassiel's face, before jumping back as Cassiel swipes his sword down, just barely managing to graze Falvi's arm.
Looking down at his wounds, Falvi watches for a moment as his blood forms a pool of liquid mana below his feet.
Glancing back up at Cassiel, he slowly readies himself into a fighting stance for the first time after taking this form.
"Let us finish this." Falvi demands, burrowing his eyes onto Cassiel.
"Let us." Cassiel responds as three blood spheres rise above his head.
Charging forward, Cassiel sends all three spheres hurling towards Falvi, only for them to fly past him as Falvi speed blitzes forward, cutting Cassiel's left side open.
This however, did not go one sided, as Falvi's right arm was shredded to pieces.
As he cut Cassiel's side open using his hand, Cassiel took the chances to wrap a string of mana around Falvi's arm, tugging as hard as he could the moment Falvi was far enough away, which now rendered his arm useless.
"Third tier magic, Blood String. Quite useful, isn't it?" Cassiel grins, standing up rigidly as his side slowly leaks blood.
Without a sound, Falvi darts back in, only for Cassiel to weave at the last moment, before sticking two Blood Arrows in Falvi's left lumbar.
Continuing the assault, Cassiel hammers his fist into the arrows, shoving them deeper into Falvi's abdomen, before forming a curved dagger in his hand, uppercutting it straight into Falvi's chin, carving it through the bottom of his mouth, and leaving it dangling as it stuck firmly as it exited through his lips.
In an instant, however, Cassiel would feel a sense of repulsion, dropping him to the ground as all of the mana he left behind on Falvi would disappear.
He was running extremely low on mana.
Falvi, coughing out mana, slowly walked forward, before pulling Cassiel closer to him by his leg.
Slamming his fists down with all his might, Cassiel spurts out blood as a huge red bruise is left on his chest.
Again, Falvi slams down, this time fracturing Cassiel's ribcage.
Going in for a third time, Cassiel barely shifts his body to the side, causing Falvi to slam into his right arm instead, breaking it.
Kicking off the ground, Cassiel slides away from Falvi by just a couple of meters, all so he could stand up and face him on even ground again.
.....
Panting from exhaustion, the two stare at each other in desperation, both wanting to come out on top with the fight, as they both knew it could be their last.
"Falvi... let's end this..." Cassiel coughs out, still breathing heavily.
Nodding his head in agreement, Falvi takes a step forward just as Cassiel does.
Sticking his hand into the sky, a Spear of Calamity slowly begins to form.
'So, he still has enough mana to pool together a sixth tier spell? That just sucks... doesn't it.' Cassiel sighs, thinking to himself as he closes his eyes.
Slowly, a deep silence ensues.
.....
"A world I dream of? Hmm... I suppose one where we'd stop this senseless fighting! Doesn't that sound like it'd be great, Cassiel?" A voice lingers through his mind, forcing his eyes open.
"Forgive me, Falvi, you never deserved this anguish." Cassiel mumbles, as within the next second, he launches a Sanguine Spear straight through Falvi's neck, beheading him instantaneously, bringing about the concept of darkness once more as the sunny sky turns night once again.
.....
.....
Dripping blood, Cassiel slowly stumbles his way back into the castle, only to look to the side to see Barakiel standing over Albus' body.
His eyes slowly focus in, and his pupils dilate.
Looking on to see his one and only friend was left knelt down as his head drooped low with a spear running through his chest, Cassiel's throat began to close.
It had been so long since he had felt a pain course through him like this, a pain that hurt where blood wasn't drawn.
He began breaking slowly inside.
The anguish that washed over him felt like a wave of despair in the face of a helpless animal.
He screamed.
It was a pure scream of agony and wrath he never experienced before, a pain mixed so strong, it allowed his voice to pierce the heavens above.
.....
Moments would pass as Cassiel had fallen to the floor on his knees, yelling and screaming in a deep pain at the sight of his beloved friend's death.
The piercing sound of his pain would soon be quenched however, by the steps of the very man that brought it about.
"I hope you can understand my pain now, Cassiel. The pain I had to go through after watching my family, no... my entire village get torn apart by you... you animals..." Barakiel shudders in hatred, limping towards Cassiel slowly.
"Although... I suppose you won't be understanding for long, after I behead y-"
Suddenly, Barakiel takes a step back.
The aura emanating off Cassiel was so great, it shook the very realm itself.
Despite being void of almost all of his mana, Cassiel's anger was enough to fill it.
Slowly, Cassiel stood up, shaking like a brittle leaf.
"You'll die... I'm going to fucking kill you... you bastard." Cassiel glares, his eyes filled with tears of hatred.
"Damn, what a fool I've been." Barakiel mumbles, a cold sweat dripping from his face as he tightens his fists.
As the two limp towards each other, they begin going blow for blow with just their fists left.
Although they both had a broken arm, they still used them.
They had no choice, they had to give this final fight their very all.
Each strike carried the weight of over ten men.
The blows shook their bodies with every impact, yet even still they kept on, never giving the other ground as they'd force their bodies to swing again, and again.
.....
Minutes would pass, until finally, with one final punch, Cassiel would knock Barakiel onto the floor.
Exhausted, Cassiel would fall to his knees, his eyelids barely staying open.
Barakiel, on the other hand, was struggling to even stay awake, as both of his eyes were closed, while having a hard time just breathing.
However, as it was the final stretch, Cassiel would make the first move.
Getting on all fours, Cassiel crawled his way on top of Barakiel, before pushing up off of him.
"Just... die..." Barakiel mumbles under his waves of heavy breathing.
Without a word, Cassiel sinks his teeth into Barakiel's neck, ripping out his flesh before going in for another bite.
It would go on until Cassiel would collapse, rolling off to the side and falling unconscious, leaving Barakiel's neck half eaten, spurting out clots of blood.
