My name is Selvi.
I am a thirty-two year old Indian-American woman. I work as a pediatrician in Pearland, Texas. My parents came from Madurai, and I grew up in a home filled with the smells of dosa (South Indian batter bread) and sambar, the sound of Tamil film songs, and weekend trips to the Sri Meenakshi Devasthanam temple. I work at a busy clinic where I see little ones every day, and my salary is higher than my husband's--something we've always been proud of rather than competitive about. My husband, Karthik, is thirty-five, and works as a software engineer at a big energy company here in the Houston suburbs. He's 5'10" and skinny, with that lean, unathletic build and gentle face I fell in love with back in college.
We have two wonderful elementary-school boys: My firstborn Arjun, who is eight and in second grade, and Thiruvalluvar--we call him Vallu--who is six and in first grade. The boys are the light of our lives. They are both a spitting image of their father, they have Karthik's sharp features and his rich dark skin. Arjun is quick with numbers and loves soccer, while Vallu is more artistic and always draws colorful pictures of temples and our Gods. We go to the temple together almost every weekend. The rituals, the community, the prasadam (religious offering), it all keeps our Tamil roots strong even here in Texas.
Physically, I'm the opposite of my slender husband. I'm only 5'1", but curvy in all the right places. My skin tone although not at the opposite spectrum of my husband is more so of a dusky complexion. My breasts are large and heavy, full and round, my full D-cups strain against the blouses I wear. In addition I have been blessed with a big, round ass that sways when I walk in a saree, thick thighs that rub together after long days on my feet, a round feminine face with plump cheeks, full lips, and those big beautiful brown eyes that people always notice. Even after two pregnancies, I stay in shape with walks around the neighborhood and Bharatanatyam (Classical dance from Tamil Nadu) practice. Karthik used to adore every inch of me. Lately, though, things have felt... somewhat distant.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today is a typical Thursday evening. The house smelled of the vegetable kurma (Type of South Asian curry) I had cooked earlier. Vallu was already in bed, tired but Arjun was at the kitchen table with his math homework spread out. I sat beside him in my comfortable cotton salwar kameez that hugged my curves gently--the top stretched across my heavy breasts, the pants loose but showing the thickness of my thighs when I crossed my legs.
"Amma (Tamil for mother), this one is so hard," Arjun said, frowning at the worksheet. "It's multiplication with carrying over. I keep messing up."
I smiled and leaned closer, wrapping one arm around his small shoulders. His head came up to my chest. "Let's look at it together, kanna ( Tamil for darling). You're smarter than you think. Show me what you did for the first problem."
He pointed to the numbers. "See? 47 times 8. I did 7 times 8 is 56, write 6 carry 5... but then I forgot the carry sometimes."
"That's okay. Let's do it step by step. First, multiply the ones place: 7 × 8 = 56. Write 6, carry 5. Now the tens: 4 × 8 = 32, plus the 5 you carried is 37. So the answer is 376. You were almost there!"
Arjun's eyes widened. "Wow, Amma! You did that so fast. You're really smart. How do you know all this? You help kids every day and still remember math?"
"You're a genius Amma!"
I laughed softly and pulled him into a warm snuggle. He relaxed against me, smelling of sandal soap and the temple sandalwood from earlier.
"Of course I remember, kanna. I studied very hard in school and college."
"But you know what? You're a genius too."
You figured out most of it by yourself. Since you're my son, when you grow up you're going to be even smarter than Appa (Tamil for Father) and me."
"Maybe you'll be a famous engineer like Appa, or a doctor, or even something bigger. I believe in you, Arjun."
He beamed up at me, his big eyes shining just like mine.
"Really, Amma? Even smarter than you? You know everything about bodies and medicines and math."
"Absolutely," I said, kissing the top of his head and hugging him tighter.
My round face rested against his hair for a moment.
"You have my brains and your father's determination. Now let's finish the next one together. 29 times 6."
We worked through the rest of the worksheet slowly, our voices filling the kitchen with patient explanations and encouragement.
"See? You carried the number perfectly this time," I praised after the fourth problem.
"Because you showed me, Amma. You make it easy. I wish I could be as good as you right now."
"You will be better, kanna. Much better. I'm so proud of how hard you're trying."
"After this, we can read one chapter of that Tamil storybook before bed if you want."
Arjun nodded eagerly. "Yes! The one about the clever crow. But first, this last row. 63 times 7... I think I got it now."
He worked it out with me guiding lightly. When he wrote the correct answer--441--he pumped his little fist.
"Yes! I did it, Amma!"
I pulled him into another big snuggle, my thick thighs shifting as I turned toward him.
"See? You're going to do great things. Appa and I love you so much."
We high-fived and put the worksheet away neatly in his folder. I glanced at the clock--Karthik would be home soon from work.
Just as Arjun and I were closing his backpack, the front door opened. Karthik walked in, looking tired but with an odd nervousness in his eyes. He set his laptop bag down and forced a smile.
"Appa!" Arjun ran to him. "Amma helped me with math. She's the smartest ever!"
Karthik ruffled his hair. "That's good, pa. Go wash up and get ready for bed. I need to talk to Amma for a bit."
Arjun gave me one last hug. "Goodnight, Amma. Love you."
"Love you more, singakutty ( Tamil for lion cub)," I called after him as he headed upstairs.
The house grew quiet once Vallu and Arjun were settled. I was still in the kitchen, wiping the table, when Karthik came up behind me. His hands rested lightly on my wide hips, but the touch felt tense.
"Selvi... we need to talk."
We moved to the kitchen table. I sat across from him, my curvy figure settling into the chair, my heavy breasts resting on the edge of the table as I folded my arms.
"What is it? You look serious."
Karthik took a deep breath, as his skinny fingers drummed on the wood.
"I've been thinking about this for months. I... I want an open marriage."
I stared at him, my eyes widening in shock. In all my years of marriage, I never once thought my husband would even propose anything remotely close to this.
"What did you just say?"
He leaned forward, voice low and pleading. "Just hear me out, Selvi. There's this white coworker... her name is Emily..... "
"She's been flirting with me a lot lately--touching my arm in meetings, texting me jokes, complimenting me, and overall I think she's down to have sex with me."
My face instantly contorted into a scowl, he had some nerve to be telling me this so brazenly. Whoever this Emily is, I want him to cut her off immediately, does she know he's married?
"She does all this knowing you're married?" I asked with a stern tone.
"Yes, she knows about you, she saw our family photo on our desk."
I had to put up with entitled white women all my life, and it seems like there's no end. Now one has crawled into my marriage. But most of all, my husband let her. As much as it irked me, the fault is not on her, instead it falls on my husband who promised to be faithful in our marriage.
He continued, his desperate attempt to make this sound normal.
"I never slept with a white girl in college. I was a virgin when we got married."
"This feels like my only real chance, Selvi."
"I love you. I love our boys."
"And I don't want to trade that for her, ever."
"But this curiosity is killing me inside."
"Once..."
"Just once, Selvi."
"We can set rules. It doesn't have to change us."
"I know we can still be a happy family after the end of it, please Selvi I'm begging you. Just one night, and that's it, I'll never ask it again."
The anger that sparked within me when he mentioned the idea of an open marriage now turned into a roaring blaze. My round face flushed. Men.. fucking...men.
"Are you serious right now, Karthik?!"
"You come home after I just helped our son with homework and you want permission to sleep with your white coworker?!!!" I hissed as I tried not to raise my voice.
"All because of some college fantasy you missed out on?"
"Please, Selvi," he begged pathetically.
"I was a virgin before you. I never got to experience that fantasy I had in college, and she even looks like one of those sorority blondes I was crushing on before I met you."
"For the first time, a white girl is interested in me and it might be the last."
"I just want to know what it feels like. One time. I promise I'll be safe. No emotions."
"Then we'll be back to normal like if it never happened at all. You know I've always been loyal."
"That's why I wanted to tell you instead of sneaking behind your back."
I stood up, my thick thighs pressing together, my big butt shifting as I paced. My heavy breasts rose and fell with rapid breaths, trying to keep my anger down before I woke up my sons.
"Loyal? You call this loyal? I was a virgin too, did you forget!"
"Unlike you, the blood stained bed sheets of our wedding night proved it!"
"Here's the difference Karthik, you were a virgin in college because you failed to lose it, I was a virgin because I wanted to be pure for my husband."
He looked hurt from the obvious truth I stated, I knew he was not preserving his virginity for marriage, it was just his inability to get laid in college.
" You didn't think I had desires as well? White guys--tall, athletic ones--hit on me constantly."
" I had a desire to have sex with white guys in college, but I refrained from doing it because of my future husband, because of you, because I wanted my marriage to be without comparison."
"And also because I hated white men, I never wanted one to touch me after I learned what they did to our people, even though it was tempting with all the cute tall white boys on campus."
"And now you want me to just say yes so you can fuck your coworker?!"
He reached for my hand but I pulled away.
"Selvi, please. I'm begging you. This might be my only chance."
"It seems like you Tamil men never learn, always wanting to worship white skin no matter the cost."
"Selvi, I don't want to regret not taking this chance, just this once and never again!"
"We can make rules--no overnights, no raw sex, I'll be honest about everything."
"How about this rule, no fucking other women but your wife!"
"Selvi, It'll be quick, I swear, you won't even know it happened."
"Quick?" I laughed bitterly, my eyes narrowing.
"You think that makes it okay? What about our sons? Our Tamil values? You want to risk all of that for one white woman?"
"I know it sounds crazy," he continued desperately, voice cracking. "But I feel stuck. Every day at work she smiles at me and I wonder... what if?
"I love your body, Selvi."
"Your big breasts."
"Your thick thighs."
"Your big round ass"
"I worship them."
"But this is different. It's a fantasy I never fulfilled. Please. Just this once, for me."
I sat back down, trying not to lose it.
The conversation went back and forth for nearly an hour. He pleaded, listed all the reasons, described how Emily flirted without crossing lines yet. I countered with my hurt feelings, my sacrifices, the unfairness. Tears welled in my eyes at times, but I stayed strong.
"I can't believe you're still trying to convince me, Karthik, even after you see how it affects me?" I said as tears started falling down my cheek.
He didn't respond to me and just hung his head in shame, no apology, just saddened that I wouldn't give him the green light to go fulfill his desire. He slowly managed to bring his eyes to my own.
Finally I wiped my tears and looked him straight in the face, calm but resolute.
"If we do this open marriage, it has to be open on my side too. Completely fair. No double standards."
Karthik froze, shocked. His skinny body went rigid.
"What? You... you want to sleep with someone else?"
"I don't have anyone in mind as of now, but I'll see if I can find somebody while you're having fun with Emily."
"Why Selvi? You're happy with me, aren't you? You never said anything before."
"Why not?" I replied steadily.
"You want a white woman to fulfill your fantasy. I should get the same freedom to sleep with someone else."
"I've wondered what it would be like with a tall, strong white man. Someone broad-shouldered who could lift me easily, handle my curves properly. It's only fair, Karthik. You opened this door."
"Selvi, no. That's not what I meant at all!"
"I thought you'd agree just for me. You're my wife. The mother of my sons. It's different, I don't want you with another man."
"But you want to be with another woman?" I shot back. "That's hypocritical. Either both of us get this freedom, or neither does. Decide."
The back-and-forth continued. He paced, begged, to guilt me. I held firm.
Eventually, after long minutes of silence and more pleading, his shoulders slumped.
"Fine," he muttered, defeated but with a flicker of desperate hope.
"Open on both sides, Selvi, just to make it fair." He said begrudgingly.
He was already thinking he could sleep with Emily fast before I acted. I could see it in his eyes.
I nodded slowly. "Then it's settled."
The agreement hung heavy in the kitchen air. Our once-traditional Tamil marriage had cracked open. I felt rage, sadness, despair, and most of all fear that my marriage may be coming to an end. There was also a small feeling of thrill that refused to be drowned out by the negative emotions, as if it was like a light in the darkness.
I moved to the stove. Without a word, I warmed the vegetable kurma and rice I had made earlier, spooned a generous portion onto a plate, and set it in front of him with a quiet clink.
Karthik looked up at me hopefully. "Selvi, this smells amazing as always. You know your kurma is the best--better than my mother's. The spices are perfect tonight."
I didn't reply. I turned away, busying myself with wiping the already-clean counter, my breasts shifting under the top as I moved. The cold shoulder was deliberate. Let him feel the chill.
He tried again, voice softer. "Ma, please. I know this is a lot. But thank you for agreeing. I love you. This doesn't change how much I love our family you, Arjun, Vallu.."
Still nothing from me. I rinsed a glass and placed it on the drying rack. My eyes stayed fixed on the sink. Karthik ate quietly for a few minutes, the scrape of the spoon the only sound.
"Selvi... talk to me. Yell at me if you want. Just don't shut me out."
I finally glanced over my shoulder.
"Eat your dinner, Karthik. The boys have school tomorrow. I'm going to bed."
I left him there at the table and walked upstairs. I checked on Arjun and Vallu--both fast asleep, innocent and peaceful--before slipping into our bedroom. I changed into a simple nightie that clung to my figure, the fabric stretching across my large breasts and ending high on my soft thighs. Then I climbed into bed, turned my back to his side, and pulled the covers up.
A few minutes later, I heard him finish, wash his plate, and climb the stairs. The bedroom door clicked shut. The mattress dipped as Karthik got in behind me. His skinny arm reached around my waist, hand sliding up toward my heavy breast in that familiar way.
"Selvi..." he whispered, voice husky with a mix of guilt and need. "Let me hold you. We can still be close tonight."
I shrugged his hand away sharply, scooting further to the edge of the bed.
"Not tonight. I need space."
He tried once more, fingers brushing my thick thigh. "Please, ma. I'm sorry I hurt you. I just--"
"Goodnight, Karthik." My tone left no room for argument.
He sighed heavily and rolled over. Soon his breathing evened out into sleep, but I lay awake for a long time, staring at the dark wall.
Open marriage. The words echoed in my head. He already had Emily waiting--a tall, blonde white coworker ready to dance into his bed. And me? I had no one specific in mind. No secret crush, no lingering glances that stood out. I was the loyal Tamil wife, the dedicated doctor, the loving mother who helped Arjun with multiplication tables and snuggled him close. Yet here I was, agreeing to this. Part of me still burned with anger. Another part felt a strange, nervous excitement. If he could chase his fantasy, why couldn't I chase mine?
I imagined what kind of man I might want. Definitely someone white first and foremost to make it even with Karthik--someone tall, at least 6'2" or more, with an attractive face and a good, muscular physique. Broad shoulders, strong arms that could lift my 5'1" curvy body without effort, a hard chest I could press my big soft breasts against. Someone confident, experienced, who would know how to handle a woman with thick thighs, a big round ass, and full D-cup breasts. I wanted to feel desired, overpowered in the best way, taken care of physically in ways my husband never quite managed.
By early morning, the plan crystallized. I would set up a dating profile. But carefully--Karthik was already insecure enough. I slipped out of bed before dawn, around 5:15 AM, while he and the boys were still asleep. In the bathroom, I locked the door softly, turned on the light, and sat on the closed toilet with my phone. The mirror reflected my round face, big brown eyes still a little puffy from lack of sleep, my curvy figure in the nightie.
I downloaded a popular dating app, created a fresh profile under a slightly altered name--"SelviDeviTX"--and chose photos carefully: one modest headshot from a hospital event showing my beautiful eyes and smile, another in a saree that hinted at my deep cleavage and wide hips without being too revealing, and one from a family temple visit cropped to focus on me.
Now, the bio and preferences. I made them super blunt and rude on purpose. I wanted to filter out the hundreds of horny messages from every guy in the Houston area. No games, no wasting time.
