Down her throat. Kissing. Licking. Nipping at the sensitive skin until she was squirming beneath him, little sounds escaping her with every touch.
His eyes darkened further when he reached the curve where her neck met her shoulder, the spot he knew drove her crazy.
He bit down harder this time.
She screamed, a sharp, breathless sound that was pain and pleasure tangled together so tightly they could not be separated.
He soothed her immediately, his tongue tracing over the mark, soft and slow and almost apologetic.
Then he looked up at her.
Her face was flushed red, lips parted, breathing ragged. Tears clung to her lashes, not from pain alone, but from the overwhelming intensity of it all. A few escaped, tracing silver paths down her temples.

He lowered his head and kissed the tears away, one by one, feather-light and tender.
