Nalan Jingwei, the Great Lord, and Executioner Scholar raced over two mountain summits. Eventually, Executioner Scholar was caught up by the Great Lord. After all, the Great Lord is known for his speed, especially since he was carrying someone with each hand. Managing to cross over two mountain summits was a result of his previous use of a forbidden move which left aftereffects. Had he not used that forbidden move, he might have been caught by the Great Lord before even crossing the first summit.
Of course, because the Great Lord used the forbidden move, his speed was somewhat slower, allowing them to cross two summits. Because they crossed over those summits, the two people from the Sword Saint Sect did not see Nalan Jingwei and Executioner Scholar, thus mistakenly thought it was the Great Lord who killed the Sword Saint Sect members, leading to the misunderstanding.
