Chapter 8 - The Dragon Cave

Manolo enters his portal, which is transported to the living room of his house. Yuleika is cooking, as it is morning. He appears in the place; she steps out of the kitchen a bit to see Manolo standing there.

—Oh, darling, you're already here. —Yuleika Said.

—Yes, I already finished working. —Manolo Answered, who sits in the living room to watch television.

—That's great, how did it go? —Yuleika asked.

—It went well for me, struggling to survive in that filthy world. —Manolo Answered.

—Don't let that world and the beings that live there intimidate you. —Yuleika replied, massaging his shoulders.

—I try not to do it, but in that world, things aren't easy; I have to survive like a true warrior. This is a thousand times worse than the job I had before. —Manolo Answered.

—Well, that was your choice; I hope it doesn't backfire on you. —Yuleika replied.

—Are you comforting me or not? —Manolo Answered a bit annoyed, removing Yuleika's hands from him.

—Don't get like that with me, darling. —Yuleika replied.

—I'm going out to get some fresh air. —Manolo Responded, who goes to the room, changes into more comfortable clothes, and takes some money with him.

—Don't buy empanadas. —Yuleika replied.

—Yes, as you wish. —Manolo Answered as he left the house.

Manolo walks toward the D'Wilkins Empanatonga Ontol empanada stand.

—Oh, but look who we have here, it's Manolo Restituyo, it's been a long time since you came here. —Wilkins Said, the owner of the business.

—Yes, I know, it's just that my wife has been keeping a close eye on me, but don't worry, I'm back, I want a full two-layer empanada. —Manolo Answered.

—I have a lot of people, but since you are my preferred client, I'll do it for you now. —Wilkins Responded.

Wilkins begins to make the empanada, takes a dough, places it on the table, takes ingredients from each container (ham and cheese, egg, four cheeses, pepperoni, vegetables, etc.), rolls out the second dough to cover the mound of ingredients and presses with a fork on the edge of the dough so it doesn't separate when thrown into the hot oil. Once it's finished, he places it in the hot oil. After a few minutes, the pastry is ready; he leaves it for a few seconds to drain the oil in the strainer. He puts it in a paper sleeve, adds ketchup, mayonnaise, garlic sauce, and BBQ sauce.

—Here you go, minister, all of me. —Wilkins said to pass him the pie.

—Thank you, minister. —Manolo Answered, who pays him two hundred pesos for the empanada. He goes and buys a soda at the corner store and sits on a stone bench while he eats his empanada and drinks his soda.

—Well, well, well, look who we have here, it's Manolo Restituyo stuffing his face with his empanada. —Said a voice next to him.

—Miguel, my brother, how are you? —Manolo answered, who sees a neighbor from the neighborhood where he lives.

—Good, my brother, and how's the family, Manolo? —Miguel replied, who sits next to him.

—All good. —Manolo Answered as he took a bite of his empanada.

—You know, I heard you got a new job. —Miguel Answered.

—How did you know, Miguel? —Manolo replied, taking another bite and sipping some soda.

—You don't know that you're famous, haven't they told you? —Miguel Answered.

—Well, in the time I've been in this job, people treat me with a certain fear and even respect. —Manolo replied as he took a bite and sipped his soda.

Miguel takes out his phone, shows him a streaming channel from the company Rare, and shows him a program called Yesterday and Today's Crashes, where he shares his adventures as a Rare technician.

—But what the heck, don't tell me everyone here watches that show. —Manolo Responded, who finishes the rest of the empanada and drinks the remaining soda.

—It's the second most-watched program on the Rare TV channel, after Rotten Metal. —Miguel Answered.

—Damn, no wonder people look at me weird, what a hassle, damn it." How am I supposed to walk down the street now? —Manolo replied.

—I don't know, but you are famous, it's just that here the operating system is outdated, but they'll tell you sooner or later. —Miguel Answered.

—Thank you for telling me, neighbor. —Manolo replied.

—At your service, and you give me an autograph for my son. He's your number one fan. —Miguel Answered, handing him a sheet with the program cover and a pen.

—Okay, I feel like a superstar. —Manolo replied until several neighbors came to greet him and tell him he is famous; it was a sea of people to see him, and they also want an autograph.

While Manolo is approached by many people, we focus on Isidro, who is in his apartment and gets up at ten in the morning.

—Dang, it's ten in the morning and I'm really hungry; I'd better buy an empanada and work it off with some exercise. —Isidro said to himself as he looked at his cell phone clock.

Isidro makes the bed, takes some money, and goes to eat a well-stuffed empanada at the empanada stand that is close to him.

—Hey, I haven't seen him anywhere. —Said the man with the empanadas.

—No, since I don't know him, give me a two-layered pizza sauce, cheese, corn, and pepperoni empanada, loaded, because I'm hungry. —Isidro replied rudely, as he was hungry.

—Don't get like that, he woke up hungry. —Answered the man with the empanadas while making the empanada.

—Yes, sorry, it's just that I'm very hungry; I haven't been here in a long time. —Isidro replied very embarrassed.

At that moment, Isidro notices a child watching a show called Yesterday and Today's Crashes, where the host, a living skeleton dressed in formal attire, is named Ains Mongol.

»Welcome to Crashes of Yesterday and Today, I am your host Ains Mongol, and I come to present today's vehicular battles. The condemned of the day are the famous trending technicians, Manolo Restituyo and Isidro Montero, who are facing off against the group of the Violentors, the Demolishers.

At that moment, he presents the entire fight.

»But not only that, we have another match from these gentlemen. And it is about the match they had against Mark Speedracer, a driver from Rotten Metal, just like the Swat Tigers, the Revenger brothers Duncan and Curtis Revenger, both promoted by Magical Communications Inc.

At that moment, he presents the entire fight.

—Those bastards are making money at our expense. —Isidro Said.

—Hey, but you're the one from the show. —The boy replied, causing a commotion.

—Here is your empanada, will you give me your autograph? —Responded the man with the empanada.

Isidro signs everything he wants and he goes back to the apartment. He goes to buy a juice at the corner store and they still won't leave him alone, so he uses magic and teleports home. He sits in a chair in the dining room, eats his pastry, and drinks his juice. He takes the opportunity to call Manolo, but he doesn't answer the call.

—Damn, there's a sea of people who love me; I'm going to have to go to the gym with a mask and glasses. —Isidro said to himself, but then the light bulb went off and he added. —But I have magic, I'm going to cast a spell so that no one recognizes me.

That's exactly what he does: he goes to the gym, does cardio and other exercises on various machines until, after two hours of working out, he goes to eat a salad at a healthy food restaurant, eats the salad and a healthy drink, then goes back home, plays video games until Manolo calls him and he answers the call.

—Manolo, how are you? —Isidro said.

—With a sea of people in my house, this looks like Duarte. —Manolo Answered.

—Apparently, we are famous, thanks to yesterday's and today's crash program. —Isidro replied.

—Yes, that's true, those people are making money at our expense. —Manolo Answered.

—Yes, I would like to sue them or something, because this is not fair. —Isidro replied.

—Is it possible? —Manolo Answered.

—Let me see, I'll check with Sonya to see if it's possible. —Isidro replied.

—Alright, I'll wait for the call, bye. —Manolo Answered.

—Ok, bye. —Isidro replied, ending the call.

Isidro searches his backpack for a cell phone from the dark dimension to call Sonya; he imbues it with magic so he can dial the number. She is working in the warehouse, sitting at the computer, typing until she answers the call and the caller ID says it's Isidro.

—Hello, darling, what do you want? —Sonya said.

—It's just that I want to sue the shocks of yesterday and today because they are making money at our expense. —Isidro replied.

—This world is a free world; we can record anyone we want, especially if it doesn't harm anyone. Moreover, you are not citizens in this world to sue it, so you will have to resign yourselves to being recorded, unless you upload it to Scream Tube first, but the profits will not be yours, but the channel owner's. —Sonya Answered.

—A Scream Tube channel would be interesting, I'll think about it, thanks for helping me, darling (he sends a kiss over the line). —Isidro replied.

—So ask your supervisor before doing it; I would be more than happy to help you. One question and they've already been paid. —Sonya Answered.

—Let me check my banking app. —Isidro replied as he looked at the money he had collected.

—Ah, yes, I got paid, I'll take you to an Eastern country when you're free. —Isidro Answered.

—Alright, kisses (blows kisses through the phone). Bye. —Sonya replied.

Isidro calls Manolo.

—What did you find out? — Manolo asked.

—What can we do? A Scream Tube channel where we can record, we use Sonya's account and make some easy money, what do you think? —Isidro replied.

—Hey, that sounds cool, but you don't have to ask for permission for that. —Manolo Answered.

—Yes, we need to ask for permission, we'll talk to Camilion. Changing the subject, they have already been paid. —Isidro replied.

—What, let me see! —Manolo exclaimed, who looks at his account on his cell phone, faints, and is having a stroke from seeing so much money."

—Honey, are you okay? "But what was that...? —Yuleika replied, looking at her phone and also fainting.

—Manolo, Manolooo! —Isidro shouted, who takes his wand and teleports to his house.

—Manolo, are you with me, Manolo? —Isidro said, shaking him violently.

—I stink in a moment, how can you live like this? —Manolo Answered, who is recovering a bit.

—Ah, I can buy the Dominican Republic if I set my mind to it. —Isidro replied.

—With that money, I will make my dream come true. And how did you get here? —Manolo answered.

—With magic. Magic works here. —Isidro replied.

—Isidro, what are you doing here? —Yuleika Answered, recovering.

—With magic. —Isidro replied.

—And does magic exist? —Yuleika Answered.

—Yes, magic exists. Well, yes, I recommend not withdrawing that money all at once; do it little by little, as there is a law that prohibits using large amounts of money. Use the credit card, checks, or whatever, but don't use your money directly. —Isidro replied.

—With this, I can resign peacefully. —Manolo Answered.

—Remember that your contract specifies a certain number of orders, so you can't resign; in my contract, it works that way, I don't know how yours works. —Isidro replied.

—Wait, we can't resign or ask to be fired. —Manolo Answered.

—Likewise, they can deduct from your money; if you misbehave, that money has imbued magic, so you could lose everything. If you misbehave with the company, you could have a hard time; they can easily do without you, so I recommend not doing something you might regret with that company, and even so, your soul will still belong to them until you complete what they ordered in the contract. —Isidro Warned.

—Alright, I'll be careful, I'll only use the money to improve my lifestyle, I'm not going to move for now, since I don't know what's strange about that money and, by the way, I'll save a bit to achieve my dream. —Manolo replied.

—Perfect, I'm off now, see you in a month. —Isidro Answered, who teleports.

—Likewise. —Manolo Responded.

—What are we going to do with that money, darling? That money could be cursed. Did you hear what Isidro said? —Yuleika replied.

—We'll do what I said earlier, so it doesn't affect us as much; we have to live off something. —Manolo Answered.

—Alright, if you say so. —Yuleika replied.

One day like any other, Manolo and his family go to visit his grandmother in Neiba, although he doesn't want to because of the reputation he has earned upon arriving at the house. Manolo is about to knock on the door, but she opens it before he can.

—Juan Manuel Antonio De los Santos Restituyo, it's good that you're here, I need to talk to you about something serious. —His mother said threateningly, which made him shit himself with fear.

—Grandma! —Manuelito shouted, who is going to hug her, and Jeison too.

—How are you, mother-in-law?! —Yuleika shouted, also hugging her.

—Kids, go play video games in my room, I want to talk to your father. —the grandmother Said.

—Alright, Dad, we'll leave you alone. —Manuelito Answered as they went up to his room.

—She doesn't want us to accompany you, mother-in-law. —Yuleika replied.

—Go pray because your faith is very weak! —the grandmother shouted.

—What do you mean my faith is very weak! I pray the regular rosary and the Divine Mercy rosary every day, I do the Liturgy of the Hours every day, I go to Mass in the morning and in the evening. —Yuleika shouted.

—You're still weak, go pray, NOW!!!! —Grandma shouted as she went crying to the yard to pray.

Once they are alone, she sits in the rocking chair in the living room.

—Sit down, my son, I want to talk to you. —Grandma Said as he sat down on a wooden chair.

—And now, what did I do, Mommy? —Manolo answered.

—The neighbors who have those devil channels told me: They saw you fighting on a satanic mountain, against some devil's herbs, then facing off with vehicles against other devil's things, then wrestling with some devil's stuffed animals. What do you have to say in your defense? —His mother replied.

—I accepted to be a technician of the dark dimension, to earn money for my family and... —Answered Manolo.

—And what about Manolo? So you sold your soul to those bastards, didn't you hear the stories from my ancestors about the invasion of those cows? Those bastards did whatever they wanted to everyone; those scoundrels deserve to be exterminated. You are a disgrace to the family. What do you have to say in your defense? What happens when you lose and die on that mountain? Don't you think about your family and above all...? about me! —His mother scolded him while tears streamed down her face.

—Don't worry, mother, I have God by my side; look at this cross that Ludovico gave me, it gives me powers to defend myself from the wicked, and I made moves to survive. —Manolo Said in a desperate and agitated tone, trying to console her. He removes the cross and, when she takes it, she sees the planet of the dark dimension in ruins while a legion of angels with monsters impaled on their spears, being led by a black and fat angel.

—This will be the revenge the world has been waiting for; everything I have prayed for will come true." —Her mother thought as she found peace in her soul, and then added aloud. "I forgive you, son, God has a mission for you, you must listen to Him and follow Him." Let me prepare a snack for them; go and buy a bottle of cola soda, with two packs of saltine crackers for them to eat.

She gives him the money to go buy it at the corner store. He leaves and does what his mother says. Upon arriving home, he has Manolo serve the soda in aluminum cups with ice from the fridge to place them on a tray with a stack of cookies beside it. The grandmother calls them, and they come right away, enjoy the snack, and she starts praying the rosary, spending the day with her.

Once it gets late, they go back home.

After a month dealing with fame, Manolo and Isidro are ready to return to their respective jobs.

—Goodbye, darling, take care. —Yuleika Said, then kissed him on the lips and said goodbye to him.

In Isidro's case. He changes and sees the havoc that the magic of the dark dimension has left on him.

—Damn, if I keep this up, I'll become a monster. —Isidro said to himself, but remember what Sonya said:

—Even if you become a monster, I will always love you.—Sonya Said as she kissed him on the lips.

Back to reality.

—At least I have people who appreciate me, so if I'm going to change, so be it. —Isidro said to himself. He finishes getting dressed, gathers his confidence, and heads to the doorway that opens before him. Manolo does the same.

They arrive at the branch door.

—Well, buddy, welcome to hell. —Isidro Said as he greeted Manolo.

—Same here. —Manolo Answered. They enter and everyone looks at them, but Manolo and Isidro watch them as they walk.

—Let's go greet the geralcas. —Manolo Said.

—It's fine. —Isidro replied.

They head to their supervisor's office to greet him.

—Oh, guys, how did it go in your free time? —Camilion said.

—We did well, doing things. —Isidro Said.

—It's great that you're here, I wanted to talk to you about something that's happening with you. —Camilion Answered.

—Yes, we heard him. —Manolo replied.

—It's about the fame you have acquired in this world. —Camilion Answered.

—We were also going to tell you that, we found out that a show on the Rare TV+ streaming channel is using our vehicular battles on the road to gain ratings. —Isidro replied.

—Yes, I know, they talk about clashes from yesterday and today. —Camilion Answered.

—Exactly, minister. —Manolo replied.

—We want to know if something can be done about it. —Isidro Answered.

—I understand, Sonya has talked to me about it, but... unfortunately, we can't do anything. The laws of this world protect free expression, especially since vehicular fights happen all the time here, whether orchestrated or street fights, so we have no control over that. —Camilion replied.

—I understand, Camilion. —Manolo responded.

—But we can't take advantage of this. I mean trying to take advantage of this... Right? —Isidro replied.

—You talk about showing the world the vehicular battles you guys do. —Camilion Said.

—Yes, Camilion, this way we can create a program to call more people to request our services. —Isidro answered.

—You talk about recording the vehicular battles that happen to them on the road. —Camilion responded.

—It would be fine, but Malcolm disagrees with that, as there might be customers who could be affected during a fight. We're on thin ice with this, so if something goes wrong... —Camilion answered.

—I understand. —Manolo responded.

—But that's inevitable; yesterday's and today's clashes record us regardless of that. —Isidro Answered.

—I know that; the marketing department reviews the videos so they don't get affected. —Camilion replied that he let that slip unintentionally.

—So, you're allied with them. —Isidro answered indignantly.

—Since this whole vehicular combat thing started in our company. —Camilion replied.

—But what a betrayal. —Isidro Answered.

—Betrayal, no; business. You have to understand that you are employees of this company, so don't try to take advantage of your fame for your own benefit. —Camilion replied.

—Alright, Camilion, if you say so, but are these vehicular combats the work of you or external agents? —Isidro Answered.

—External agents, no matter how skilled you are on the road, we would not try to harm you. I also agree with Malcolm, but that's the entertainment world in this world. —Camilion replied.

—I understand, well, let's go visit Malcolm, he's in the office. —Manolo Answered.

—Alright, you can go in, since I think he's there, I think, but don't take too long, he has work to do. —Camilion replied.

—Yes, don't worry, we know. —Isidro Answered as they left his office and whispered. —Scoundrel.

—Calm down, Isidro, it was obvious; you know these people are tough, but at least we tried." —Manolo replied.

—I wanted to make some easy money with our adventures, but no, we have to work like slaves in this lousy company. —Isidro replied.

They go to Malcolm's place, knock on the door, and he tells them to come in; they come in and sit down while he finishes the call.

—Sorry, I had an urgent call. What do you want, my boys? —Malcolm said.

—We only came to visit him, just that. —Manolo Answered.

—Oh, how nice of you to visit me within your tight schedule. —Malcolm replied.

—Yes, really. —Isidro Answered.

—One question, do you agree that we are being used as a reality show for the entertainment of the masses of this world? —Manolo replied.

—Let me see, you know about yesterday's and today's crashes, which I tell you since the tremendous disaster you caused in my house; the audience was ecstatic about you, and now, combined with the vehicular battles, the world is on the lookout for you. —Malcolm Responded.

—Sorry about the house. —Manolo Said, his head down.

—Don't worry, everything can be fixed with magic. —Malcolm Answered.

—Yes, I know it in advance. —Isidro replied, who laughs nervously.

—Mr. Manolo, could you leave us alone with Isidro? I need to talk to him about something. —Malcolm Answered.

—Alright, I'll leave them alone. I will go visit Meredith and Ludovico. —Manolo replied as he left the office.

Meanwhile, Malcolm and Isidro are talking:

—Tell me, how's it going with Meredith's contract? —Malcolm said.

—I have parts of my body that have become inhuman, but I remain conscious. — Isidro Answered.

—Try to use magic as little as possible, so you don't lose your humanity. —Malcolm replied.

—At this moment, what does my humanity matter? After all, I lost it a long time ago. —Isidro Answered.

—Don't say that, Isidro, I know the routine of this job isn't easy, but you mustn't lose what makes you who you are, a human being; no matter what you say about humanity, all civilizations are the same, so go ahead, kid. —Malcolm Responded.

—Thank you, Mr. Malcolm, I really appreciate the gesture. —Isidro replied.

—At your service, Isidro. —Malcolm Responded as they shook hands.

—Well, I'm leaving to go to work. —Isidro Answered.

—You know, if you happen to lose your humanity, you are welcome in this world; talk to Sonya to see if she lets you live in this world. —Malcolm replied.

—I've already talked to her about it; she told me that when I lose her, I'll take care of the paperwork. —Isidro Answered.

—That's great, Isidro, well then, go to work. —Malcolm Responded as he left the office.

A few minutes before Manolo leaves Malcolm's office, he heads to Meredith's office to ask her a few things, but she is not there.

—Oh, apparently she's not here. —Manolo Said, but someone covered his eyes and added. —It has to be Meredith.

—Bing bong. You got it right. How are you, my sugar lump? —Meredith responded.

—I'm fine, I wanted to talk to you about something. —Manolo Answered.

—I'll guess, it's about the orders that haven't been assigned to you. —Meredith replied.

—Yes, I wanted to know how that was going. —Manolo Answered.

—They are working on it, don't worry, darling, you still have to finish Isidro's orders so that new orders can come out. —Meredith replied.

—I have already installed more than a hundred orders since I've been here, Meredith. —Manolo Answered desperately.

—Don't worry, my love, we're working on it; just keep doing your job. —Meredith Responded, giving him a little kiss on the mouth.

—Meredith, how dare you? I am a married man. —Manolo replied surprised by what she did, but he realizes that she covers her mouth.

—I felt like I kissed boiling water; I love that. —Meredith Whispers, who laughs devilishly, causing Manolo to get scared.

—Eh, well, I'm leaving, I'll go to Ludovico and Hope. —Manolo Responded as he left the office.

—Alright, my love, I'll see you again soon. —Meredith Answered.

—How strange that my conscience didn't attack me when she kissed me. Maybe it's on vacation. — Manolo said to himself.

He goes to Ludovico and Hope's office; they are working until Manolo knocks on the door.

—Come in. —Hope Said.

Manolo opens the door.

—Oh, but it's Manolo. —Hope Said.

—Manolo, my brother, how are we doing? —Ludovico replied, as they shook hands and then hugged.

—How is the best worker in this company? —Manolo Answered.

—All good, and more so now that I see you, how was your month off? —Ludovico replied.

—It went well, very well. —Manolo Answered.

—It's my turn in a few days, do you need anything? —Ludovico replied.

—Yes, Ludo, it's about something important; we can talk privately. —Manolo Answered.

—Hope, may I? —Ludovico responded.

—Yes, you can go out for a moment. —Hope replied.

They go out and walk through the hallways until they reach the courtyard to talk.

—Ready, Manolo, what do you want? —Ludovico responded.

—I asked Meredith about the orders, and she came back with the same thing: do you have any information about it? —Manolo replied.

—I'm on it, but the information is very well hidden; it seems they don't want me to know something, but I'm still investigating. —Ludovico responded.

— I understand, nothing, we just have to wait. —Manolo replied, but at that moment he was attacked by his conscience in the form of Yuleika, but Ludovico indirectly told him no.

They enter the branch again, and Manolo leaves Ludovico with Hope, and Ludovico signals Manolo's conscience to hit him really hard. He writhes on the floor while being whipped by Manolo's conscience.

—Hope, let's take him to Cleoferti to see what's wrong with him. —Ludovico Said while Hope carried him to the infirmary.

—Oh, what's wrong with Manolo that he's writhing in pain? —Cleoferti said.

—Let's say it's a mental mechanism he has to avoid cheating on his wife. —Ludovico replied.

—And what do you want me to take it off? —Cleoferti Asked.

—No, leave him, he needs it, just let him rest until he gets better. —Ludovico replied.

—Alright, leave it on the bed. I'll take care of it. — Cleoferti responded as Hope laid him on the bed.

—Why did you let Hope carry it alone? —Cleoferti replied.

—Because she offered and is stronger than me. It's three hundred pounds that Manolo has. —Ludovico answered.

—Don't worry about me, carrying it was like lifting paper, so it's nothing for me. —Hope replied.

Isidro arrives at the infirmary.

—Manolo, where have you been? I've been looking for you; it's time to work. —Isidro Said, and at that moment Manolo stands up as if nothing happened.

—Let's do it. —Manolo Responded, who says goodbye to those present.

—Anything, just call me, Manolo. —Ludovico said while Manolo gives him an okay sign with his hand.

—Let's get back to work, Ludo. —Hope Said as they held hands to go to their office.

Manolo and Isidro go to the designated parking lot for their vehicle, but it isn't there. They ask one of their fellow technicians, and he tells them to go to the workshop, so they head to the workshop to pick up their vehicle.

—Hello. —Said Manolo.

—Oh, but look who we have here, it's the dynamic duo. —Darius replied.

—I liked the reference; we came to pick up our vehicle since we didn't see it in its designated parking. —Manolo Answered.

—Yes, I'm done with him, you can take him. —Darius replied.

—Perfect, thank you very much, Mr. Darius. —Answered Manolo.

They get into the vehicle and head to the warehouse. Isidro opens the back doors, takes a long rope that is hanging on a rope holder, drives a stake into the floor with the rope tied to it, so he steps into the vehicle's space to bring the farthest and closest equipment closer. Once finished, Isidro leaves. Sonya comes out in her werewolf form to see them.

—Do you need materials, guys? —Sonya asked.

—Yes, let me look for them. —Manolo and Isidro answered, who enter the warehouse to restock and get everything ready to leave.

—You know, you look beautiful in any form, darling. —Isidro replied, throwing a compliment at Sonya.

—Thank you, darling, now go to work. —Sonya replied as they got in and set off toward the street. They park on the road to plan their route. Once they know the route they have to take, they embark on their journey to make the installations. First, they went to a town where they installed some satellites, then they went to a city where they installed various services. Everything was going well, no chases, everything calm until they reached their last order of the day.

—What a calm day, everything has gone smoothly, I hope they give me orders to get out of this already. —Manolo Said.

—Yes, so much peace and tranquility; let me see what the last order is. —Manolo Answered.

—Yes, to take a nap. —Isidro replied.

—The bone, this is really far. —Manolo Responded, seeing that the last item on the agenda is very far away.

—Well, we have to do it, right? We've had a lot of quiet time; a little action won't hurt anyone. —Isidro Answered.

—Yes, you're right, because why not, here it says that to reach the customer we have to do it via the train tracks, so we have to transform the vehicle into a locomotive to go on the train tracks. —Manolo Said.

—Well, what are we waiting for? Let's transform this vehicle into a locomotive. —Isidro replied as Manolo placed the vehicle on the train tracks. Manolo, with the touch control panel, presses the button to turn it into a locomotive.

Once transformed into a locomotive, they embark on their journeys along the train tracks.

—How fun, I'm going to blow the whistle for a moment to feel like a conductor. —Isidro Said while blowing the air horn.

—You look like a five-year-old. —Manolo replied, but he noticed that a train was about to enter the tracks and saw a flash of light.

—Hey, Isidro. —Manolo Answered, who is trying to get him to stop blowing the whistle, but he is enchanted by the whistle. So the locomotive suddenly stops and the train fires a cannon shot that they dodge. Isidro comes to his senses.

—What the hell! —Isidro said.

—Our day of peace went down the drain; get ready to fight. —Manolo replied as Isidro took his position in the rear turret." The train keeps firing cannon shots and machine guns at their locomotive until it connects to the tracks next to them. They shoot at the cannons and turrets; they try to dodge what they can until they manage to destroy the weapons and the cars, reaching the locomotive, which connects to the track where they are to shoot at them with a minigun, but with armor-piercing bullets, they take out the locomotive.

—That was easy. —Manolo Said, but other trains are coming, from the left and right, full of zombies.

—You and your big mouth. —Isidro replied.

—Yes, I know, let's go get those bastards! —Manolo exclaimed.

A zombie very similar to Ayame Yomogawa from Kōtetsujō no Kabaneri watches them fight through thin binoculars.

—So those are the legendary technicians who faced the Rotten Metal runners; it's incredible how they work, they are worthy to face my Mitsuri Sakamoto, the empress of the rails. —Mitsuri Said.

—My lady, let me kill them so you don't have to stoop to fighting those barbarians. —Responded a zombie very similar to Mumei from Kōtetsujō no Kabaneri.

—No, Kirara, we will face them. —Mitsuri responded.

—What a waste of ammunition. —Answered a zombie very similar to Kurusu from Kōtetsujō no Kabaneri.

—Yes, maybe it is, but defeating them will be beneficial for us, Kenzo. —Mitsuri replied.

—Destroy humans. —Said a giant zombie with metal parts in its body like Ikoma from Kōtetsujō no Kabaneri; it is with them.

—That's right, Iori. Prepare the weapons, we are going to engage in combat against them. —Mitsuri Answered.

After they finished defeating the two trains.

—That's all. —Manolo said, who is tired.

—I don't think so. —Isidro replied as they saw an armored train armed to the teeth.

—You have to be relaxing!. —Manolo Exclaimed.

—The final boss looks like that train! —Isidro Exclaimed as the mortars fired at them.

—Well, how are we doing on ammunition? —Manolo Answered.

—We have enough to defeat those bastards. —Isidro replied.

—Well, let's go. —Manolo Answered, who accelerates to arrive while dodging the projectiles." The train couples to the middle track. The rear cannon fires at them while they dodge the shots, jumping from track to track. They shoot at them to disable the cannon until they succeed, but the mortars are very bothersome.

A sniper aims at the vehicle's engine, fires a shot that disables the vehicle.

—The weapons don't work. —Isidro Said.

—It was that sniper, we must stop him. —Manolo Answered.

—We don't have firearms. —Manolo replied.

—They are incapacitated because of the sniper. — Isidro Answered.

—Well, then we have to do it like the god of war, go straight to the locomotive, passing through the cars and destroy the locomotive. —Manolo replied.

They get out of the vehicle and crash it into the cannon wagon, embedding it in it. From the wagons, many zombies rush toward them, but Manolo embeds his hands into the bellies of two zombies to pull out their small intestines along with their stomachs to fight like Kratos. Isidro covers him from behind with magic.

While they take care of the zombies. One of the zombies informs Mitsuri that they are approaching a living city, and she says to keep going, that it will make things more entertaining.

They arrive in the city, and it doesn't take the train's visit very well, so the tracks start to change, causing them to detach from the ground and the city to rise. They pass through the left hand, which turns into a monster that attacks them, but Manolo, like the god of war, constantly attacks it, and Isidro uses magic until its entrails break. However, it takes other entrails from other zombies until it slams them against a wall several times to knock them out, the same with the right hand, the left foot, and the right foot, until they pass through the entire city until they reach a tunnel that leads them to the interior of the city, where the internal defenses attack them, but Manolo and Isidro defend themselves until Mitsuri's minions appear to confront them.

—Well, well, well, look who we have here, it's the human technicians the media has been talking about. —Kirara Said.

—You, who are you? —Manolo responded.

—Does it even matter? —Kirara replied.

—Of course, if we're going to kick your asses, at least introduce yourselves, or are you just like the other zombies, more run-of-the-mill lackeys? —Manolo Answered, which makes them angry.

—My name is Kirara Ishida. —Kirara Said.

—My name is Kenzo Oshima. —Kenzo Said.

—My name is Iori Kanno. —Iori Said.

—Perfect, now come all of you to me alone. —Manolo answered as he grabbed two zombies; they lunged at each other and held a brutal fight while battling against the city's defenses until the city expelled them." The city transforms into a giant; as the train passes through parts of its body, giants and enemies of the city itself appear, so they join forces to defeat the city.

The train travels down to the feet; Kirara and the zombie team attack the knees to make it fall to its knees, then they move up to the torso, but they are caught by the left hand. However, Manolo, like the god of war, climbs up the hand and breaks the ligaments of the hand with brute force thanks to the powers of the cross being activated. The train falls, but they activate a mechanism that creates tracks out of nowhere to head toward the head. Isidro stuns her with a light spell, the train charges with all its artillery mercilessly. Manolo jumps from the train toward the head to knock him out with a single blow. The giant falls, and they get out of there.

— Good teamwork.—Manolo said they high-five the zombies that are there, except for the zombie team that refuses.

—I remind you that we are enemies. —Kirara replied.

—Oh yes, but we joined forces to defeat that thing; I hope there aren't any customers around, because otherwise I'm going to get into trouble. —Manolo Answered.

—That's the least of your worries, now they are ready to face your fate! —Kirara Exclaimed as all the zombies took up a combat position.

—If you say so, come on! —Manolo replied as they lunged at the zombies to attack them until, at one point in the fight, the sniper was in a perfect position to shoot; he fired, but Manolo caught the bullet in his mouth and spat it back at the sniper, knocking him out.

At one point, Manolo and Isidro can no longer go on, but they notice that the vehicle has recovered, so they pretend to be defeated and unhook the car where the vehicle is embedded. The train shoots at them until it explodes into a thousand pieces.

—Your Majesty, we have won. —Kirara Said.

—Perfect, now everyone will know about the might of the Empress of the Rails, Mitsuri Sakamoto. —Mitsuri replied, who laughs devilishly."

They enter a tunnel and suddenly vehicle lights appear.

—The milkman has arrived, you scoundrels! —Manolo Exclaimed, who activates the weapons to charge at the train cars until they exit the tunnel. They leave the tracks and park on a strong and firm plain; they activate the vehicle, which turns into an artillery cannon to fire a nuclear projectile that completely eradicates them.

—I love the smell of destruction in the afternoon. —Manolo Responded as they walked along the tracks toward their last order.

They arrive at a cave where there are many dragons. An imposing dragon blocks their way.

—Who are you? —said the dragon.

—Good afternoon, we are the technicians from Rare, we are here to install an internet and phone service for Mrs. Daga Firebreather. —Manolo Answered, who stuck his head out the window.

—Oh, but you are the Rare technicians I saw on the show "Clashes of Yesterday and Today." —Replied the dragon.

—Yes, we are... Can you let us through? —Manolo asked.

—Alright, but first I need you to sign this. It's for my son. —Responded the dragon, who is looking for a version of his toy vehicle to have it signed.

—They have toys from us, but the bone. —They said together.

They sign it, and the dragon lets them pass.

They pass by and see many dragons living in their natural habitat; the young ones play with the toys of the vehicle combat drivers, including them.

The young ones recognize him and bring pens for him to sign autographs; he signs them, and they take the opportunity to ask him for directions to the client's house. They follow the directions given to them by the children until they reach the corresponding cave.

—Good afternoon, we are from Rare for the installation of your phone and internet! —Manolo Shouted that they are at the entrance of the cave.

—I'm coming. —Said a female voice, and a dragoness arrives, nursing her children. —You must be the service technicians I requested; follow me.

—We can stop by the vehicle on our way to your cave. —Isidro Said.

—Yes, they can do it. —Daga replied.

—It's fine, and excuse me, Mrs. Daga. —Isidro responded as they moved through the cave and saw a treasure chest. They remain entranced by so much gold until Daga calls them.

—Yes, ma'am, we're coming. —Manolo answered.

—Well, gentlemen, I would like the service to be set up in the living room and the repeaters in the places you deem appropriate. —Daga Said.

—Does the lady have repeaters? —Manolo whispered.

—Yes, he does. —Isidro whispered.

They go to the terminal to run a cable through the messenger pipe to the cave room. Then they install the modem on a small table that is in the cave. So they have the task of installing ten repeaters throughout the cave. They use the ladders they take out of the vehicle, as well as suction cups to install the repeaters through the communication pipes. This took a long time, but they managed to finish the installation; they called the corresponding department to enable the services. Mrs. Daga was amazed by the service, so she gave both of them a diamond, but they refused, as it is company policy. She understood; they cleaned up all the mess they made and left the cave to stay in a hidden place in the forest with optical camouflage to sleep in the vehicle in a dimension where no one would bother them.

After that break, Manolo and Isidro go to an order where there is a castle in the sky.

—Don't mess with me, we have to install in that place; couldn't it be in a less high place? After the order for that building, I have memories of Vietnam. —Isidro Said.

—Well, we have to work no matter what, so let's get to it; it's time to start our task. —Manolo Answered, who sees the endless staircase.

—Damn it, stairs, my sworn enemy! —Manolo shouted.

—If you want, I'll go ahead since I have my magic broom. —Isidro replied.

—Alright, just shout if you need anything. — Manolo Answered.

He climbs the stairs while Isidro arrives at the castle, but something is prowling the skies.

—My cross tells me that we are not alone. —Manolo Said as the cross made his eyes shine.

Isidro dodges him and reveals himself, who is a five-headed red hydra dragon. Manolo climbs like Flash from DC Comics and jumps through the clouds to meet Isidro.

—You must be the famous Rare technicians; is it true that you are as good as they say? — said the dragon.

—What is your name so we can refer to you? —Manolo asked.

—My name is Redenaite DragonBreather, but you can call me Red. —Isidro Answered.

—Well, the service is under the name Frida DragonBreather, so I imagine you want us to face you to install the service. —Manolo replied.

—Yes, I imagine they know because they have experience; call their center to pass my wife through. —Red said to give them his wife's number and they will call her; when she answers, they introduce themselves and explain what is happening, so she agrees and they have a conference call with the center while Isidro enters the code to proceed with violence so that in the conference the support accepts the code, ending the call.

—Well, Mr. Red, we can start the fight now. —Manolo Said as he put on a glove that looked like the one Cuphead has, and Isidro took out his wand.

—Give me a worthy fight! —Red shouted, who shot several fireballs that turned into fire knights.

—Isidro, take care of the knights; I'll handle the dragon. —Manolo Said.

—Understood. —Isidro responded.

The fire knights sprout dragon wings and shoot fire bolts from their bows. Isidro fights with them, dodging and shooting at the knights.

—Damn it, there are too many of them! —Isidro shouted while fighting against them.

Manolo shoots white lightning from the glove at the dragon while jumping through the clouds as if he were Cuphead against the boss Grim Matchstick.

—You're very agile for a fat guy, Manolo! —Red exclaimed.

—You'll pay dearly for calling me fat, you scoundrel. —Manolo Whispered as they shot at each other, dodging at superhuman speeds.

—What he said offended you! Fatty! —Red exclaimed, provoking him.

Manolo stops playing around, confronts the knights, and shoots at Red until they combine forces to finish off the knights. Although Red continues to summon several knights, their numbers are drastically reduced by their combined attack, leaving him alone. They start shooting at him, but he dodges the shots until Manolo jumps on him to steer him toward Isidro, who launches several magical punches that weaken him. Then, Manolo flies off and falls toward Red to knock him out with a punch to the chin, after which Isidro summons a platform to prevent him from falling into the void.

—Good fight, set up the installation. —Red Said.

—Perfect, let's go get the materials, Isidro. —Manolo Answered.

They go down, look for the materials to install it, so they get to work. Frida comes back from the supermarket and makes them some human food snacks. They take longer than usual because the place is very large, and it also has repeaters. After a while, he completes the order and shows them how to use the services, as the order includes Internet, phone, and Rare TV +. Once they finish, they go to work on more orders.

Back with Rolkenis, he is getting ready to leave; once finished, he fuels his vehicle to hit the road. After several commands, until he meets Hiro outside his giant robot. Rolkenis takes out some cans of soda to meet with him.

—Hiro! —Rolkenis shouted, who was heading toward him.

—Oh, Rolkenis, I'm glad I spotted you. —Hiro Said, who with his watch controls the giant robot to take it to the robot's head.

—How have you been? —Rolkenis asked as he handed him a can to open, and he did the same. They take a sip and nod affirmatively.

—You know, rescuing inhabitants of this dimension and other things related to them. I fought with several technicians and terrified a few humans. The usual. —Hiro replied, while taking a sip of soda.

—I can imagine. —Rolkenis Responded.

—And how have you been? —Hiro replied as he took a big sip, finishing the entire soda, then grabbed another can, opened it, and took a sip, adding, —What a delicious soda!

—Messing with clients and working like a dog. —Rolkenis answered.

—I imagine, I imagine that because of those technicians, they have made your job more difficult. —Hiro replied while Rolkenis took a big sip, finishing the soda and grabbing another one, opening it and taking a drink. —How good it is!

—This job is really full of changes, so it can be for better or for worse. —Rolkenis Responded, taking a sip.

—Well, you're on our side, so when the rare branch of the dark dimension falls, I'll get you a job with me or with other heroes, I don't know, but I'll get you something for your loyalty. —Hiro replied as he took a sip.

—I have some bad news for you, Hiro, don't take it the wrong way. —Rolkenis Answered very apologetically and took a big sip, then took another can, opened it, and took another sip.

—Don't tell me you won't be on our side anymore. —Hiro responded, taking a sip.

He nods affirmatively.

—Damn it! But how? —Hiro replied.

—After I returned to my body, besides reconciling with Manolo and Isidro, I thought it over and decided to stay on the side of the project; I'm sorry, Hiro. —Rolkenis Answered.

—Well, that means we won't be enemies. —Hiro replied.

—Really, more enemies than friends. —Rolkenis Answered.

—You're right about that. —Hiro replied, almost in tears, and took a big sip, which he added. — Come on, let's enjoy these sodas and I'll give you a day off so you can see that I'm a good guy.

—Thank you, I really appreciate it. —Rolkenis Answered.

—I've been thinking about confronting Manolo, but I think I won't for my safety. —Hiro replied.

—Don't do it, please. —Rolkenis replied as they finished the cans, then said goodbye to each other to continue with their work.

In the bar of the road warriors, Mark and the Swat Tigers hand over the money to Beatrix, who won the bet.

—Thank you for the money. I'll treat you to some drinks. —Beatrix Said.

—Are you really going to buy us a drink? We lost. —Mark Answered.

—I'm a princess, I have more than enough money. —Beatrix Responded, as she added while the bartender prepared the drinks. —Well, let's drink, I'm treating everyone here!

The runners drink from the drinks that are passed to everyone.

—What's wrong, Ruxus? You look deep in thought. —Beatrix said.

—I think we should leave those technicians alone, they are just drawing attention and when they fall defeated, it harms us in the public eye. —Ruxus Commented.

The runners think about it and agree with Ruxus.

—You're right, the princesses were harmed by that defeat. —Beatrix Said.

—It's true, let's not waste time with them, let the anti-project faction deal with them and let's focus on other technicians. —Ruxus Answered.

They listen to him and nod their heads.

In a castle in the mountains, the representatives of the anti-project factions of the dark dimension are gathered around a round table in person.

—Attention, gentlemen, the reason we have gathered once again is because those two bastards are still alive! —Aldrich Albain exclaimed in anger.

—And to make matters worse, they've become famous; everyone wants their services installed, I'm losing a lot of money because of it. —Infernus Blackspawn responded.

—Especially when several runners from Rotten Metal who work for us haven't been able to handle them. —Blackend Titanium Responded.

—May the goddess Alheim save us from this cold war. —Ulgalion Lagoon replied.

—We are doing everything possible to stop them; we have detained several of their technicians, but they come back stronger. —Kulbain Skeleton Responded.

—Besides the fact that the networks are on the side of those technicians, if we don't do something, humans will conquer us with their technology. —Oculan Darius Answered.

—I will send a deadly ray to their branch so they stop bothering us. —Sargoth Atrocitus Responded.

—That's a terrible idea because you would hurt innocent monsters, which would make you a criminal. —Kulbain Skeleton replied.

—You take all the fun out of life. —Sargoth Responded.

—You guys are really a bunch of useless people. We have to stop this advance as much as possible, so let's do whatever it takes to deal with the technicians, especially Manolo and Isidro, who are the most dangerous. Do whatever it takes, regardless of the risk, for I must leave you; my lord needs me. —Aldrich Albain replied, who teleported from the place, and all the others as well.

—Fortunately, we have our informant to tell us the location of the inquisitor and his companion so we can get rid of them once and for all. I will talk to him to see if he has useful information, as it is thanks to him that we have been able to detect them. —Oculan Darius Said.

—Perfect, those technicians won't know who hit them. —Ulgalion Lagoon Answered.
