"So that's your decision."
"Are you afraid?"
"..."
"I don't want to leave so soon."
"Neither do I, but there's no other choice."
"Mom! Dad!" Evan woke up with a startled shout, finding it hard to feel his body. Exhaustion took full control over him, a reminder of what occur a couple hours ago.
'That was mom and dad right? There's no way I would forget their voices." He thought while trying to move his hands but they wouldn't budge.
'Deep breaths.' He told himself, controlling his breathing so he won't panick.
Since his hands won't move he took smaller steps by trying to feel his fingers.
With a twitch of his nerves, his fingers began moving. However, just this simply task took a toil on him. He nearly faint on the spot.
'To think using all my spirit qi could have such a huge strain on my body.' Evan thought to himself before stopping. Even mere thoughts were difficult to put together.
"Your awake." Someone entered the room. Unable to lift his head, he couldn't tell who it was. When they got closer their figure became clearer.
It was Alexandra Warren.
"Drink this. It will replenish some of your spirit qi." She raised Evan gently to sit up on the bed before letting him drink a blue liquid.
Evan quickly felt the changes in his body. He no longer felt as exhausted as before.
"Thanks." He responded, feeling grateful.
"What happened? You were out cold for ten hours. I had to tell everyone you were sick." Alexandra asked while examining his body.
"I-" Evan was about to explain when he soon realize what Alexandra said.
"Ten hours?! That means I am super late for school!" With a shout he rise up out of the bed and head to the bathroom.
However, before reaching the bathroom he fell.
"Ouch." He whimpers in pain. The pain did not occur from the fall but came from his body, more specifically his heart.
"Careful, do you want to die?" Alexandra quickly lifted him up from the ground back onto the bed.
"Why do I feel a squeezing pressure around my heart?" Back in the comfort of his bed he asked. The pressure was not easing, instead it felt as if it was getting worse.
"You used up all your spirit qi. Doing so is equal to not being able to breathe in oxygen for you humans, killing yourself in the process." The resounding voice explained.
"Its a surprise you are still alive." Alexandra sighed, feeling a bit of regret for making Evan become a Spirit Wielder.
"If I knew you would awaken two spirits I wouldn't even allow you to become a Spirit Wielder." She told with a bit of pain I'm her eyes.
"Its not your fault." Evan soon began explaining what happened in his mind seeing that Alexandra was feeling guilty.
"A spirit covered in numerous chains..." The resounding voice muttered before going silent. Pondering on what Evan told them.
"You... are you stupid?" As for Alexandra she stare at Evan with a dumbfounded expression. She thought it was her fault not the other way around!
"The spirit said I needed to break three chains in order to use a bit of it's power..." Evan whispered, startled by Alexandra question.
"You could have waited until your spirit qi was replenished to continue again." Facepalmed Alexandra.
"..."
Evan grew silent before changing subject, "Anyways, I need to go to school." He said as he got back out of bed once more.
This time he didn't feel like he would collapse. It seems like what Alexandra gave him was highly effective.
"Do you have anymore of those liquid? I might need them again in the future..." Evan asked in which the girl gave him a cold stare.
"Are you thinking of breaking more of those chains?"
"Well..."
"Don't think of it. From what I can guess those chains aren't something a white spirit wielder like yourself can break everytime." The resounding voice interrupted Evan.
"Hm? You seem to know a thing or two about the spirit inside me." With a raise of his eyebrow Evan said before entering the bathroom to take a cold shower.
The shower head turn on, all could be heard was the water dripping down.
Unfazed, Alexandra let the voice continue: "That spirit is likely a primordial spirit. They are known as the oldest ones, being older than all four spirits."
"A primordial!" Alexandra exclaimed in shock.
"Yes, however I have never heard of a primordial spirit being limited by the world."
"Then again this is the second time I am seeing a human awaken a primordial spirit so I lack further information on this part." The voice finished.
"How strong is a primordial compared to the four known spirits?" Evan came outside of the bathroom with his uniform on.
"They are far more powerful." Before the voice could respond, Alexandra answered in its stead.
"A primordial spirit isn't just the oldest but also the most strongest spirits. They have full control over the laws the universe gave to them."
"However, that depends on the laws they were entitled to. For instance the human primordial is the creator of all humans but he isn't even stronger than a white spirit. That's because the laws he was given have no combat usage." The voice corrected Alexandra.
"I see." Nodding his head, Evan took a peek outside his room.
From just a glimpse Evan could tell no one was home. He could even feel that there was no presence of anyone in the house.
'Is this the benefits of becoming a Spirit Wielder?' He thought to himself.
"But although there are weak primordials I don't believe the spirit chained in your fiancé is weak." The voice addressed.
Alexandra nodded. "I agree. For the laws of this world to restrict it it must have had the ability to destroy this world with just a flick of its finger."
'Maybe it's the Red Primordial.' She muttered to herself as Evan stepped outside with his bag over his back.
"We will find out in the future. For now I am really late for school!" Evan rushed outside with Alexandra, making sure to lock the house before leaving.
"You don't seem as excited as you were when we did the ritual." Alexandra pouted. They stopped at a bud stop, waiting for a ride.
"Truth is I'm not. That spirit nearly killed me and even said it won't be of much use to me until I become a black spirit wielder."
Even then said with a pleased smile, "I am much satisfied with just having gramps." He said, addressing to his ancestor, Scyther Belmont.
"Wow, do you know many spirit wielders would wish to have a primordial spirit? Yet here you are acting like it's not a big deal." Alexandra commented with a smile.
At first she was envious of Evan but soon her envy turn into being happy for him. He was her fiancée and she felt at ease that his spirits are strong enough to ease the dangers he will be facing in the future.
She also thought it would be cool to show him off to her peers when she got back.
'Look! My fiancée awaken two spirits and one is a primordial!' The mere thought of seeing her peers eyes filled with jealousy made her giggle.
"Heh." Scyther snickered before saying, "Who cares whether or not that ball of garbage is a Primordial or what not? All a Belmont need is a weapon to face all challenges."
He said with a scoff. Since Primordials are entitled to laws he thought of them the same he thinks of the gods- disgusting.
"Huh? I can hear gramps." Evan looked around but didn't see Belmont.
"He is in your mind." Alexandra answered.
"If that's the case how can you heat him?"
"He allows us to hear him." She replied to Evan enquiry.
"Oh."
"I guess he doesn't view all gods as bad people." The voice joined in.
Evan envisioned a cold face smirking at Belmont.
"Shut up you disgusting rag!" Belmont barked. It seems like they had the same imagination.
"Hey Alexandra how comes I am not hungry." Evan touched his belly. He always make sure to eat his breakfast since he don't eat lunch but because he was in a rush to get to school he skipped breakfast.
But he wasn't hungry. He didn't even feel the slightest bit of hunger biting at him.
"If you awaken spirit that was immortal or close to immortality at their peak before becoming a Spirit then you gain some their abilities. One of them is the ability to go days without getting hungry."
"Wouldn't that mean I also gain their immortality?" Evan exclaimed in wonder. The world of spirit wielders was truly amazing
"Nah, but if you manage to become a red spirit wielder your lifespan will increase a bit. Fifty years that is."
"So much information. I guess things are gonna start getting fun around here." An excited glint appear in Evan eyes.
"Fun?" Alexandra stared at Evan with a bewildered look. "Do remember our mission. To investigate the school."
"I remember." Evan told. At that moment a bus arrived and they hop on.
