"Shoes, I didn't wear shoes." Xu Nian'an had one foot with a shoe, and the other only in a sock on the floor, being dragged along by Pei Yining. He was completely confused and had no idea what was happening.
He didn't even know where Pei Yining had gotten such strength—it hurt his hand as she pulled him.
"Nianhua is waiting for you at the hospital. If you're any later, it'll be too late."
As soon as Pei Yining finished, Xu Nian'an stopped caring about his shoes altogether. He didn't have time to ask what was going on, and instead grabbed Pei Yining's hand and ran downstairs himself—much faster than Pei Yining pulling him.
Downstairs, Lou Fan was explaining things to the dorm manager. He wanted to go upstairs to find Xu Nian'an, but didn't recognize him or know which dorm he was in, which would waste time, so he let Pei Yining go up instead.
"Auntie, this is a matter of life and death, please help us!" Lou Fan pleaded urgently, knowing every second counted now.
