"Yicheng, what time did you go to bed last night?" Xu Nianhua got up early, went for her usual walk while reciting vocabulary, and asked Pei Yicheng who was also exercising in the yard.
Pei Yicheng's eyes flickered. "One o'clock."
"One in the morning?" Xu Nianhua's voice went up a pitch, she leaned closer and easily spotted faint dark circles on Pei Yicheng's face. She muttered, "I already told my dad you just got back from a business trip and needed to rest early!"
"It's fine. I wasn't sleepy at all yesterday." Pei Yicheng watched her mumbling to herself and couldn't help laughing, "Alright, playing chess with Uncle actually made me more energized. Didn't feel tired at all."
"So who won more games last night?" Xu Nianhua asked curiously—she'd only watched two rounds before going upstairs to rest.
Pei Yicheng rubbed his nose. "Can't remember, probably Uncle won more."
"You didn't go easy on him, did you?" Xu Nianhua asked quietly.
