"Sis-in-law, please, I'm begging you, don't tell my brother."
Xu Nianhua motioned for her to look behind.
Too late.
Just as Pei Yining was speaking, Pei Yicheng walked in. She barely had time to warn him.
"Bro?"
Pei Yining was startled, her first instinct was to hurry up and hide.
"Stop right there." Pei Yicheng said in a deep voice.
Pei Yining couldn't move her feet anymore. She forced a smile and said, "Bro, you're back so early today! I—I was just going back to my room to get some rest, didn't want to bother you guys as a family."
She prayed inwardly that her brother wouldn't overhear.
"Come back. Sit down." Pei Yicheng kept a stern face, intentionally lowering his voice so as not to wake the baby in the crib.
"Bro." Pei Yining shot a pleading look at Xu Nianhua.
