Genshin Impact: I'm The Envoy of Snezhnaya
Chapter 386: Kaeya and Diluc's Cooperation
"D-Defeated…?"
Adjusting her glasses, even though Jianna had poor eyesight, Dvalin's massive body was impossible to miss—as long as she wasn't blind.
Logically speaking, it shouldn't have been so easy for Bai Luo to defeat Dvalin.
Even the Traveler in the future would have a much harder time dealing with him.
In reality, there were many contributing factors.
First, there was Dvalin himself.
Having just awakened, his strength hadn't fully recovered. On top of that, he was suffering from both poisoned blood and the Abyss's corruption—essentially fighting Bai Luo while burdened with multiple debuffs.
That was also one of the reasons he mistook Bai Luo for Barbatos.
In his current state, the fact that he could still recognize himself as a follower of Barbatos was already impressive.
Furthermore, he believed his own power would have no effect against the Anemo Archon, who held authority over "wind."
Aside from using wind projectiles to confuse his opponent, he relied almost entirely on his physical body, engaging Bai Luo in close-range combat.
If Dvalin had been at full strength, Bai Luo would have had to reveal quite a few trump cards.
At the very least, he would need to use multiple classes to beat Dvalin.
"Huff… huff…"
Dvalin had been completely dazed by Bai Luo's strike.
His head hung limply on the ground, his breath stirring clouds of dust, and some strange liquid seemed to be leaking from the corner of his mouth.
"Have you ever seen Barbatos using something like this?"
Holding the massive greatsword in one hand, Bai Luo approached Dvalin and spoke.
The fallen Dvalin could only respond with faint, indistinct growls, utterly unable to answer.
Looking at Dvalin, who resembled a boss in a weakened state in a game, Bai Luo shifted his gaze to the dark mark on his body.
It was a coagulated mass of corrupted blood—a shackle placed on him by the Abyss, and also his weakness.
It seemed that removing this thing would free Dvalin.
But rather than simply getting rid of it, Bai Luo was more interested in taking a sample for research.
The Traveler appeared capable of purifying it—he wondered if he could do the same.
However, just as his hand was about to touch the coagulated blood, a flaming greatsword struck down with a resounding force.
Although Bai Luo managed to take a small sample, he couldn't completely remove the corruption because of that strike.
"Don't touch him!"
The one who had arrived late was Diluc.
He didn't know what Bai Luo intended to do, but seeing Dvalin in pain, he acted immediately.
What he didn't realize was that Bai Luo's actions might have saved the very Stormterror they were so concerned about.
Not only Diluc—Hilichurls, who had previously stayed away due to the storm, also began gathering nearby.
Under normal circumstances, they wouldn't come close.
Not just because of Dvalin's lingering presence.
After Dvalin used elemental power, the concentration of Anemo energy in the area became abnormally high. In such conditions, the curse carried by the Hilichurls would place a much heavier burden on their bodies, instinctively driving them away.
The fact that they were enduring this pain to gather here meant one thing—the Abyss's influence had reached the area.
The Abyss Order, Mondstadt, and the Fatui.
Three factions had converged around Dvalin, the being known as Stormterror.
Having dealt with the Abyss frequently, Diluc immediately noticed the abnormality in the Hilichurls.
Without bothering to retrieve his greatsword, he glanced at Kaeya, who had just arrived, and stood side by side with him in perfect unspoken coordination.
This wasn't the time for personal grudges.
"Lord Harbinger."
Jianna followed Kaeya to the scene, running up behind Bai Luo. Holding up her lamp like she meant business, she put on what she thought was a fierce expression.
She had practiced that expression for quite a long time.
Unfortunately… with those thick, oversized glasses on her face, what was supposed to look fierce instead came off like a tearful, aggrieved expression.
If he didn't know she was on the same side as Bai Luo, Diluc might have thought the Ausbilder had kidnapped some silly girl and was bullying her.
"That's enough. Drop that dumb look already."
After putting away the coagulated blood sample, Bai Luo reached out and, with a look of disdain, rubbed Jianna's face—which looked more like she was about to cry than trying to act fierce.
Before leaving, however, he subtly moved his fingers.
Click, click, click…
The sound of mechanisms inside a dagger echoed. The greatsword stuck nearby was pulled by a steel wire, flying back toward Diluc.
Before Diluc could say anything, Bai Luo grabbed Jianna by the wrist, and the two of them vanished from everyone's sight.
All that remained was a faint blue glow flickering where he had disappeared.
He hadn't used quantum teleportation—instead, he used his invisibility.
Because his quantum ability couldn't bring teammates along.
But this kind of invisibility, which could completely conceal both himself and his companion, was more than enough for the current situation.
"Barba… tos…"
Looking at the spot where Bai Luo had disappeared, Dvalin struggled to open his mouth and weakly called out that name.
Bai Luo had forgotten something—Venti also had a similar ability.
Although when the latter disappeared, he left behind feathers of a similar color rather than particle effects like Bai Luo.
But to Dvalin, whose mind was already too muddled to distinguish between Anatoly and Barbatos, the two were essentially the same.
"Our strongest support just left like that… really makes things feel a lot more pressured."
A one-handed sword appeared in Kaeya's hand as he seemed to complain about Bai Luo's sudden departure.
In truth, Kaeya couldn't have been happier that Bai Luo had left.
A strange and unpredictable person like him would only add more uncertainty to the battle.
Who knew whether Ausbilder—who had once cooperated with the Abyss—might suddenly turn on them?
Judging from the earlier situation, Ausbilder seemed more interested in taking something from Dvalin.
If the Abyss tried to strike a deal with him using something from Dvalin's body, then based on what they knew of him, the chances of him attacking them were quite high.
"Save the chatter. Just don't hold me back."
Planting his sword into the ground, Diluc retied his loose red hair, which had come undone during his rush, and spoke.
It had been a long time since he and Kaeya had truly fought side by side.
Back then, they were like real brothers.
Now, because of the Ausbilder, they stood together once again.
"That's what I should be saying to you!"
Kaeya and Diluc moved at the same time.
Short sword as shield—his elegant ceremonial swordsmanship completely protected Diluc's vital points.
Greatsword as offense—Diluc's wide, powerful strikes abandoned defense entirely, mercilessly harvesting the Abyss's minions.
They didn't use elemental powers.
Because the last time they had fought together was so long ago that neither of them had yet received a Vision from the gods.
