The player responsible for defending Roger from the Hornets is Morris Peterson, a 201 cm small forward and a diligent 3D wing.
His "3" is quite good in this era; until 2017, he was the Raptors' all-time three-point king. After transferring to the Hornets this summer, he has also become one of Paul's right-hand men.
But his "D" is relatively average, actively enough, but far from the level of a defensive lineup.
And for Roger, players like this aren't much different from ones who can't defend at all.
Roger speeds up on the non-pick-and-roll side after getting into position; the focused Morris Peterson doesn't fall for it and immediately shifts to block.
But Stoudemire doesn't open up; instead, he maintains the position of the screen, and Roger turns toward Stoudemire at the moment of imminent contact with Peterson, seemingly intending to use the screen.
