The journey back to Olympus gives Medusa far too much time to think, and she's beginning to regret every second of it. She keeps looking at Aleysia, then at her stomach, as though staring long enough might somehow provide an explanation.
Nothing about the pregnancy makes sense to her. She has been immortal for centuries, but suddenly she's discovering that her body apparently has rules even she doesn't know about.
"Was it Gaia removing my curse? Was it the soul bond? Did Zeus change something when he restored me? And why has nobody thought to tell me any of this before now?" Her thoughts are busy with too many questions. By the time the gates of Olympus come into view, Medusa has already prepared a long list of questions for Zeus, and she has a strong feeling that none of his answers are going to make her any less annoyed.
