Chapter 631, Why It Can Float on the Sea

The next day, Golden Sail Tavern.

"The second item displayed by the Island Lord's Mansion is called a watch, and its function is the same as the pocket watch in the latest issue of the Great Detective story."

"It can be worn on the wrist, does not hinder movement, and can provide accurate time..."

The bard stood on a high platform, narrating the Island Lord's Mansion exhibits alone.

"And the third item, which was not present on-site, is a type of alchemical potion called an enhancement potion. Its function is to improve a person's physical attributes without leveling up."

"Once these three items were displayed, they instantly outshone all other products."

"Whether it's a luxurious vase or finely carved silverware, they are all ordinary flashy items."

"Countless people were scrambling to meet the Island Lord, and every day, the outside of the Island Lord's Mansion was filled with visiting nobles."

The third day of the exhibition.

Inside the tavern, aside from the usual narration of the Great Detective story, there were intermissions to talk about the popular exhibition.

Especially the three items displayed by the Island Lord's Mansion at the exhibition.

Due to certain reasons, even those who didn't attend the exhibition learned some information this way!

Even though people knew Island Lord Wu Heng was impressive, they didn't expect it to this extent.

Writing tools, timekeeping, potions breaking bodily limitations.

Such wide coverage, yet realized by one person.

Too terrifying.

The Great Detective can be explained by saying Wu Heng is meticulous, naturally perceptive, able to observe details others miss.

But creating these items directly cannot be explained by talent alone.

Especially considering he's a necromancer.

Crossing disciplines, surpassing the work of technomancers and alchemists.

And this was just the third day of the exhibition.

As news spreads, more people will come to the island.

Gold-Silver Island will only become livelier.

...

Guild, Steward's study.

"You went to the Island Lord's Mansion yesterday!" Wu Heng entered the room and sat on the sofa to the side.

Shiyali brought over freshly brewed tea, then returned to her seat.

Sheila Grey said directly, "Skitt came to me yesterday and said that the Secret Cult member you killed had met him the day before."

Wu Heng cast a curious glance, surprised there was a follow-up to this story.

"Is it related to the guild?"

"Listen to me." Sheila Grey motioned for him to be patient and explained everything in detail.

"I had the Skeleton Prophet sense that gift, and I can confirm the two were just having a normal conversation, not accomplices of the Secret Cult."

There are two Deputy Stewards on Gold-Silver Island.

The human Deputy Steward is named Skitt, and the dwarf is called Gadyne.

Wu Heng hadn't interacted with them much; if they met, it was just a greeting.

What they knew about him was minimal too—only the public information.

"Good that it's been investigated. These kinds of things are inevitable." Wu Heng said with a smile.

"Mhm." Sheila Grey nodded, then asked, "Where did you go yesterday? The exhibition is open, and you ran off again."

"Went out to handle something." Wu Heng replied with a smile.

Shiyali also walked over and sat sideways on the armrest beside Sheila Grey, "Wu Heng, were the fountain pen and watch both your inventions?"

"You could say I introduced them here. They're basically unseen in this area." Wu Heng said.

"What about that potion? Was there a physical sample? When I saw it, there were only the guild's and consortium's certificates." Shiyali's fair arm rested on her sister's shoulder.

"There was a sample, but I put it away to avoid causing an incident."

"That was also your introduction?"

"Not that one."

Shiyali smiled, "Someone else brought it to exhibit? Even with the pen and watch, you've already done a lot."

Wu Heng smiled and said, "No, I organized the development of the potion."

The sisters' brows instantly raised in surprise as they looked at each other, shock mirrored in their eyes.

"Aren't you a mage?" Shiyali pressed.

"I discovered a material that boosts the body and gathered a team to start potion development." Wu Heng explained.

The potion had already been made public, so there was no need to keep it so secret anymore.

The two women were even more surprised, momentarily at a loss for words.

After a while.

Sheila Grey finally said, "Aren't you worried it'll cause trouble?"

"Don't worry. With the current defense level on the island, there's no problem." Wu Heng said.

Sheila Grey's eyes lit up again, suddenly realizing, "Was the shocking thing you mentioned in the bet last time this potion?"

Sheila Grey abruptly looked up at her with an expression that said, why are you bringing that up?

Noticing her sister's gaze, Shiyali quickly added, "That doesn't count. You said it'd be a technomancy device, not a potion."

Reminded of it, Wu Heng recalled that conversation.

Last time, the three of them were chatting and brought up the topic of the bet.

Sheila Grey had told him not to focus on developing technomancy, but to focus on magic.

Wu Heng had mentioned the bet—if he created something truly shocking, she'd have to agree to one of his requests.

Of course, Shiyali joined in too.

Wu Heng looked at the sisters with similar looks but different temperaments, questioning, "You're not going back on your word, are you?"

Sheila Grey said, "We agreed on technomancy. The watch is nice, but not as exaggerated as you claimed."

Wu Heng thought for a moment and said, "Then what if I bring out a technomancy item?"

"Then I've got nothing to say." Sheila Grey shrugged.

"Then I'll make you admit defeat wholeheartedly." Wu Heng stood up and said, "Let's go. Follow me to the port."

"Going out now?" Sheila Grey was curious.

"You'll see what a divine weapon looks like." Wu Heng tilted his head slightly.

Sheila Grey stared at him, "You really want to go out?"

"Let's go quickly. Put on your hoods, we'll sneak over." Wu Heng said.

Sheila Grey was skeptical, but still pulled out a hooded cloak from her space ring and left her desk.

Wu Heng looked toward the smiling Shiyali, resting her chin in her hand, "You joined the bet too, don't tell me you forgot."

Shiyali's smile stiffened. She wanted to argue.

But held back, put on her hood, and followed them out.

...

Dock No. 2.

Sheila Grey and Shiyali widened their eyes, staring up at the giant behemoth docked at the port, their eyes filled with shock and confusion.

Even the largest battleship wasn't this massive—it looked like a mountain planted in the sea.

Wu Heng looked at their expressions and smiled, "Well? This should count as technomancy, right!"

The two women were already full of shock.

Shiyali swallowed hard, "Is this also an exhibit?"

"What exhibit? This is our island's escort ship, protecting maritime safety." Wu Heng said.

"You're too much! Pulling out something like this." Shiyali added.

Sheila Grey followed up, "Just to win against us?"

Wu Heng rolled his eyes at the two women who had never seen the world and said, "By the way, to win against you."

"Is this made of iron?" Sheila Grey asked.

"Mm!"

"Why can it float on the sea?" Shiyali also asked.
