Chapter 766, You Don't Have a Dad Either?

Lilith looked at the emerging ghost with curiosity.

Judging by the figure and vague features, she hadn't been very old when she died.

Dying young and becoming a ghost—that in itself showed some talent.

"Are the bad guys you mean those people from the Church?" Lilith climbed out of the coffin and sat to the side.

In this place called Gold-Silver Island, apparently necromancers and ghosts were considered the good guys, while the Church was the bad.

Xiaoxiao floated closer, then nervously retreated to a corner near the ceiling. "Yeah, they always cause trouble for Uncle, and Uncle doesn't dare hit them back."

Lilith raised a brow. "Uncle, as in Wu Heng? He wants to hit Church members?"

"Hmph! They're nothing special," Xiaoxiao said, floating with her arms crossed.

Lilith pulled out a bottle of wine from her space ring and poured herself a glass.

Xiaoxiao flew a bit closer. "Sister, aren't you afraid they'll come after you for hitting them?"

"Nope."

"Hmm..." Xiaoxiao pondered, glanced at her, then said, "Wanna live on the island? The scenery is really nice."

Lilith sipped the fruit wine. "You want me to help your uncle keep beating up Church members?"

"Can you?"

"And what do I get in return? You don't expect me to help for free, do you?" Lilith smiled.

"I'll get Uncle to give you a house and a game console! You can have whatever you want!" Xiaoxiao promised.

Lilith swirled her glass and asked, "I still don't know your name."

"You can call me Xiaoxiao. You're Lilith, right?"

"Xiaoxiao," Lilith repeated, then asked, "How many ghosts does your uncle have?"

"Uh..." Xiaoxiao became alert and backed up. "Uncle told me not to say."

"Oh? Then who does he like most?"

"Obviously me!" Xiaoxiao answered confidently.

Lilith took another sip and asked, "You promised houses and games. Would your uncle agree to that?"

Xiaoxiao paused, thought a moment, then said, "You ask him yourself. He doesn't let me run around."

"Strict, is he?"

"Sort of. He keeps making me learn to write. But I'm dead already!"

"You can't write at all?"

Xiaoxiao crossed her arms grumpily. "Everyone has different talents."

Lilith thought for a moment, then said, "I can check out the house tomorrow. I don't need him to give it to me..."

"Really?" Xiaoxiao beamed.

Lilith nodded. "Mm. Your uncle doesn't have a wife?"

Wife?

Xiaoxiao looked puzzled. "Sister, you don't have a dad either?"

......

The next day, at the opera house.

In the grand hall, dazzling light poured down from massive crystal chandeliers, bathing the room in brilliance and dreamlike hues.

Well-dressed guests, guided by staff, made their way to assigned seats.

They whispered among themselves, marveling at Gold-Silver Island's wealth and extravagance.

When everyone was seated—

A bronze bell rang, and a beautifully dressed wood elf auctioneer stepped onto the stage.

With a bow, the auctioneer greeted, "Honored guests, welcome to Gold-Silver Island's second potion auction."

Clack~!

As they spoke, the large screen behind them suddenly lit up.

The view on stage was now projected in real-time so everyone could see and hear clearly.

"What the hell? What kind of tech is this?"

"Gold-Silver Island always shows off new products during expos."

"This is insane!"

The audience buzzed with noise.

The auctioneer lightly clapped for quiet.

Then declared, "The auction officially begins."

Staff walked up with trays, revealing exquisite potion bottles beneath silk covers.

"Constitution Enhancement Potion, certified by the Guild and Consortium. Still five bottles. Starting bid is 500 gold coins. Minimum increment is 20 gold. Bidding starts now."

The auctioneer stepped back, leaving the potions on display.

After a brief silence, someone raised a number plate. "520 gold!"

"540 gold..."

"800."

"1000 gold."

After a few modest increases, prices shot up, breaking 1000 gold.

But the bidding didn't stop—it kept skyrocketing.

"1500 gold."

"2000 gold."

Bidders were now jumping by hundreds of gold at a time, ignoring the minimum increment.

The price climbed rapidly.

Listening to the numbers climb, many nobles in the crowd began to sweat.

This auction was beyond wild.

Throwing around gold like it was copper or silver.

If they'd known, they'd have jumped in early just to say they participated.

......

In the second-floor VIP room—

Lilith sat gracefully, watching the auction below with great interest.

After just a few rounds, prices were already over 2000 gold. Even she was a bit surprised.

Not that the potion wasn't worth it—but the price rose too fast.

Wu Heng had really made Gold-Silver Island live up to its name.

"Next door just placed a bid," Wu Heng said.

Lilith turned, "They from HQ too?"

"Yes. Deputy to the Hongwen Society leader, plus a few elders and level-18 Professionals from HQ," Wu Heng said quietly.

"So they all approve of your potions," Lilith said flatly.

"Just lucky to have their support!" Wu Heng smiled.

As they spoke, the first round of bidding concluded.

The final bid: 7260 gold coins.

"That really is wild," Lilith said, hearing the price.

......

In the room next door—

"Steward Sheila Grey, didn't you say it would close around 3000 gold? This is way off," grumbled an elder from the elf clan, face flushed.

He wasn't mad at Sheila, just frustrated by the heat of the bidding war.

Sheila Grey replied, "Last time, the first item went for just over 3000. I didn't expect today would be like this."

Since Wu Heng was with Lilith, Sheila was in charge of hosting the other Guild elders.

They'd asked her for pricing estimates beforehand.

But the gap had been bigger than anyone expected—the first item had already doubled.

The elder took a deep breath to calm himself, then asked, "Based on last time, will the prices keep going up, or go down?"

Everyone else looked over.

They'd come a long way for these potions—each one hoping to take at least one back.

With everyone watching her—

Sheila Grey awkwardly said, "They only go up."
