Chapter 762 - Chapter 762, Lilith Has Arrived

Chapter 762, Lilith Has Arrived

Seeing their target ahead, the two men secretly rejoiced.

They planned to grab something valuable—and maybe feel up that noble girl's slim waist while they were at it.

Using the crowd as cover, they approached the elderly man and the young girl.

One distracted while the other reached out amid the chaos.

But as soon as his hand extended, something felt wrong.

He looked down at his outstretched hand.

His eyes suddenly went wide.

His hand had turned a bluish-purple at some point, and he couldn't feel it at all.

Mmmph~!

Panic on his face, he tried to scream—but all that came out were muffled sounds.

He reached for his mouth with his other hand in a frenzy.

His eyes grew even more terrified.

His mouth was gone.

Through the skin, he could barely feel the outline of his teeth.

His heart trembled—he couldn't move his hands, and his mouth had vanished.

He fell to the ground, then scrambled up and stumbled away.

Behind him, his partner who'd been providing cover saw him running and quickly chased after, "What are you running for? Got something good?"

In the crowd, the young girl and the old man turned slightly to glance at the departing pair.

Then continued on into the expo with the crowd.

...…

Inside the bathroom.

"Wu Heng, a level 20 Hero has arrived on the island," Glenda said as she phased through the wall.

Wu Heng's hand paused mid-motion, and his brow furrowed immediately.

A level 20 Hero? On the island?

"Who came?"

Glenda sounded uncertain, "Looks like Lilith, but her appearance is different. Might be a disguise."

Lilith?

Wu Heng had once slain a Blood Clan exile, and when Glenda devoured the ghost, she saw fragmented memories.

Among them were images of Lilith—she'd seen what she looked like.

She'd shared those with Wu Heng afterward.

Now Glenda said she looked different—probably meant she didn't match those memories.

"Let me take a look," Wu Heng said.

Glenda merged into him, and shared the view from the expo.

In the plaza outside the expo, someone was running like mad, and Glenda's gaze shifted toward the direction he'd come from.

There, she spotted the towering level glow.

She quickly flew over—an elderly man and a young girl came into view.

The level 20 figure was the girl.

And judging by her looks—it was definitely Lilith.

A younger version of Lilith.

Unless she had a sister or a biological daughter, it had to be her.

Glenda followed them a bit longer. Seeing that they were just touring the expo, she returned and told Wu Heng.

"Is it really her?" Glenda asked after reemerging.

"Should be. I've never heard of her having sisters or daughters," Wu Heng said, wiping his face.

Glenda huffed, "You've been addled by those elf sisters. Where are you gonna find so many identical twins? And all Heroes?"

"Just saying," Wu Heng muttered, heading out. "Next time I'm in the bathroom, could you not phase through the wall? A little privacy, please."

"Tch~! I've seen everything on you anyway," Glenda pouted.

"Peeping ghost."

"Say that again, and don't come crying to me when you're in danger," Glenda grumbled.

Wu Heng chuckled, "Alright, alright—just messing with you. Love you~"

"Hmph~!"

Back in the bedroom, he dressed while thinking things over.

He hadn't expected Lilith to send any message—yet here she was, showing up the day before the auction.

Looks like among all the Heroes at headquarters, Lilith trusted him the most.

"So what now?" Glenda hovered nearby.

"Gonna bring her here. What if someone pisses her off out there? That'd be a mess," Wu Heng said, changing into something more formal and heading downstairs.

Lilith was still cold and domineering.

Back on that pirate-infested island, someone provoked her and got killed on the spot.

Things could get ugly.

...…

As he descended the stairs—

The maids were sorting the gifts delivered to the hall.

With the launch of a new product, it felt like the early days of the expo again—merchant reps dropping off gifts and fishing for release dates.

The earlier they got the product, the sooner they could make money.

Rarely did anyone come demanding formulas like those alchemists yesterday.

"Master, check out the new gifts—see anything you like?" Minnie asked.

Wu Heng came down, "You pick. Anything I don't like, send it to storage. We might have guests later."

"Yes, Master," Minnie replied.

The maids opened the gifts one by one like mystery boxes, cheeks turning red with excitement.

Wu Heng walked to the phone and dialed the steward's study.

"Hello?" came Shiyali's voice.

"Shiyali, it's Wu Heng."

"Wu Heng? What's up?" she asked with a smile.

"Where's Sheila Grey?"

"She's in the conference room, assigning tasks to the teams. Why?"

He thought for a second, then said, "Tell her to get ready. I'm heading to the Guild. We're going to pick someone up."

"Pick up who? Need anything prepared?"

"Two squads and a carriage. I'll explain when I get there," Wu Heng said directly.

"Alright. I'll tell her when she gets back."

Hanging up, Wu Heng turned to Minnie, "Minnie, I'm heading out. Stop looking through those—it's all yours. Tidy up the house and prepare some snacks."

"Is this for the guest you mentioned?"

"Yeah, they might come. If not, we'll eat it ourselves."

Minnie smiled, "Got it, Master."

...…

Wu Heng took two skeletons and left the island lord's mansion.

The ghosts with Glenda, Xiaoxiao, and Benny stayed behind in the study.

He arrived at the Guild.

From afar, he saw Sheila Grey, Shiyali, and two squads waiting by the entrance—two carriages parked nearby.

Spotting Wu Heng, Sheila Grey waved and got into one of the carriages.

Wu Heng followed her in.

"To the expo," Wu Heng said.

Sheila Grey tapped the wall, "To the expo."

The carriage began moving, slowly heading toward the expo.

"Who's coming?" Sheila Grey asked.

Shiyali looked over curiously too.

An 18th-level Professional from HQ wouldn't normally warrant such a welcome.

Wu Heng lowered his voice, "A leader from HQ."

"A leader? Lilith?" Sheila Grey exclaimed.

Shiyali trembled dramatically, "Lilith? Seriously?"

Sure, they always talked about Heroes and leaders—

But neither sister had ever seen a real level 20 in person.

Now she was on the island.

Sheila Grey glanced at her sister, calmed herself, and explained, "Wu Heng sent letters to three leaders. Lilith was the only one who didn't respond."

The External Envoy Leader replied, and the Hongwen Society leader sent a deputy.

Lilith had been the only one silent.

Now that someone mentioned a leader coming, it had to be her.

"Oh… Do you think we're late picking her up?" Shiyali asked nervously.

Sheila Grey's cheeks turned red too.

"It's fine. We helped her clean up banished ones more than once. We're on good terms," Wu Heng said, squeezing Sheila's hand.

Shiyali slid her hand into his other one.

"Mm." Sheila Grey nodded.

Soon, the carriage reached the expo.

The driver said, "Steward, it's crowded ahead. Still want to go through?"

Sheila Grey looked ahead.

Wu Heng said, "Let's wait here."

...…

Outside the expo.

Lilith and her attendant slowly exited the expo.

The elder opened the umbrella to shield the girl from the sun.

"What do you think of turning potions into pills?" the girl asked coolly.

The elder replied seriously, "It should have a solid effect—and those stubborn old alchemists unwilling to adapt will lose their edge."

"So you're optimistic about the new products?" she asked back.

The elder answered while walking, "The things Lord Wu Heng makes never disappoint."

The girl nodded without replying.

It was true. Everything from Gold-Silver Island had exceeded expectations in value.

Hard to comment on other aspects, but in terms of innovation—he was brilliant.

The elder added, "Everyone here is talking about the pills. With his reputation on the island, he could easily meet the level 18 prestige requirement."

"Most likely. That may be what he's preparing for," the girl said softly.

They walked through the crowd.

Both of them looked toward the street ahead.

Two Guild carriages and a few External Envoy members in armor stood waiting there.
