Head Captain Zero and the main assault force were in the thick of the battle. On his main assault force. There was Captain Ethan Dickson and Captain Scarlet Johnson. All three wore the Schools hunting uniform provided to all the people who work for the school. It was one of the best gear a hunter could have.
Thick and durable but weightless and flexible. To not hinder any movement and also defend against most attacks. While Zero held two daggers. The other two held staffs. There weapons had a red glow around them that also gave off an aura around them that made your skin crawl.
Fighting with them were three members from the Argent family wearing all red gear with 2 swords and one held a giant sledge hammer on his back. While the other wielded a ball in chain. There were other groups spread not too far from them all in battle.
"They just keep coming" Captain Ethan complained, as he slammed his staff. Crushing the skull of a wolf on impact.
"Perfect I need more practice anyway." Captain Scarlet laughed. Furiously spinning her staff cracking every wolf that crossed her path. "I never use a staff and this is fun."
"Don't let your guard down" Head Captain Zero warned them as he melodically maneuvered between wolves striking all vital points swiftly not giving the wolves a chance to attack. Everyone in their group was fast but, Zero was in a class of his own. Quickly cutting down the numbers in the area until a powerful aura could be felt threw the crowd making almost everyone freeze from fear.
"That feels like someone worth my time!" Scarlet boasted excitedly as her staff transformed into a long sword with deep red glow on the edge. Before she could fully sprint towards the immense pressure. She was pulled back by a great force.
"Don't be hasty now" Zero calmly said as he let go of her wrist. "I'll take the lead here"
All the wolves stopped attacking and made space for the giant wolf to walk threw. This wolf was easily 3 times the size of the rest of the wolves. A hunter fell from the trees trying to slash at the wolf but was snatched out the air and bite in half by the giant. He chomped down on the bones. The giant black wolf swallowed and began to talk. "You attack my home" his voice deep and menacing. He snarled and leapt to another hunter nearby and ripped him in half. He was now crashing threw the hunters killing them all one by one in a single gruesome attack. The other wolves didn't sit still while this was going on. As if to boost the moral. They were on the attack again and much more viscous than before.
"This is what I'm talking about" a wild man was slashing threw the frenzied wolves with ease. The scariest part about it was the man was smiling. "You wolves hungry. Some fresh meat right here for you." He said as he put his giant sword in its sheath on his back. He dove towards a wolf, with blinding speed, and punched it with his bare knuckles in its gut. "Let's go!" he screamed as the wolf flew spitting a spray of blood in the air flowing from its mouth.
The man seemed to vanish and appear next to another wolf. Grabbing its head and smashing it threw the ground. He then proceeded to stomp threw the scull.
A wolf appeared behind him ready to claw at his neck. At the last moment a woman with a giant scythe slashed the wolves arm clean off. The wolf noticed its hand was missing and coursed. "You bitc..." was all she got out before its head rolled off its shoulders.
"You're becoming reckless, Cam" She addressed the wild man.
"Well I assumed I would have some backup that wasn't useless." Cam retorted. " I see you're still scary with that thing in your hand, Sherry."
"What did you expect. I'm a harbinger of death." Sherry scowled menacingly as she plummeted in the the incoming wolves severing limps and ligaments effortlessly. She was like a dancer parrying and carving her way threw the wolves. It was beautiful and gross at the same time. She was graceful and elegant and she harvested the souls of her victims.
Together they where racking up a large count of wolves and also boasted the moral of the fighters around them also saving a few the battle wasn't a single sided onslaught as it had been when the giant wolf arrived. Three wolves flew in the path of the two crashing into the wolves they were about to engage with.
"What the hell" Cam looked to see where the wolves fell from and could see and familiar face. "Zero what… what you're doing" he snapped.
"Sorry old friend" he smiled sincerely as he approached. "Didn't mean to steal your kills."
The other Captains at his sides they all stood back to back and face off against the onslaught of wolves.
"Whatever." Cam scoffed. "I guess there's more than enough to go around."
"Cam!", Sherry shouted not missing a beat to attack the giant wolf. The wolf avoided the slashes of her scythe with ease. Then went to slash at her with his claws but was stoped by one of the members from the Argent family. The claws clashed with a sword and you could see the man straining to hold back the wolf and his strength.
"Malik!", another warrior yelled as they went to attack the wolf but was snatched out the air and slammed ferociously into the ground. Leaving a large crater in the ground. The body in the crater was left lifeless. The distraction was enough for Malik and Sherry to get away.
"That's the Alpha." Zero informed everyone. Everyone honed in and attacked the Alpha. It was all for nothing. The Alpha released a aura that blocked all their attacks with out him even moving.
"You hunters are getting more bold." The alpha snarled threw his fangs. "To come to my home. Slaughter my people. For hundreds of years no one had ever invaded my home. Hope you all are ready to die."
The atmosphere in the area changed it became hot. The alpha was growing even bigger. His fangs began to grow even larger and claws elongated really long and sharp almost as long as human arm. He was already a beast. Now he was a monster. Then he vanished. Reappearing next to a hunter that never saw him coming. He slashed the hunter right in half from his torso.
"Dynamic slash" a yell came from above. Quickly followed by a bright light slamming onto the alpha. The light was so bright it blinded everyone watching.. (Is that Apollo.) Zero thought. When everyone's vision came they could see a young boy fending the alpha off. Slash for slash the boy could keep up with the alpha.
Everyone stood stunned at the unimaginable feat that was happening in their faces. The first to move was Zero not allowing a child to face such dangers on their own. The boy was so agile slipping through the alpha's attacks with precise timing. He was so small to the giant wolf that he would jump to avoid an attack and land on the wolves massive shoulders. When the wolf would reach for him the boy would already gone attacking from another location.
The speed and attack from a child was honestly unbelievable. The wolf had to raise his hands using his claws to block a slash aimed at his neck. "Boy I like you! I'm Lyric." The alpha exclaimed. Before swiftly and unexpectedly grabbing the boy with his mouth biting down hard yanking side to side before releasing him tossing him aside like a rag doll. Before the boy could smack a tree Zero was there to catch him.
"Ahhhhgg" the boy screamed in agony twisting his body fiercely.
Zero reached in a flapping his belt and pulled out a vile. "This should stop the transformation. It's not one hundred percent effective but it should help and will help ease the pain if nothing else. Rest up I'll take it from here." Zero placed the boy down gently and was now full of unfiltered rage. The atmosphere in the area changed and the air became thinner and gravity seemed to be 100 times stronger as he glared at Lyric.
Not to far away from them, Cam saw everything unfold in utter astonishment. That boy was amazing. He will grow to be worthy to be my rival. Cam jumped into the battle releasing his sword yelling "Awaken my love! Serabi!" At the same time his sword began to glow a bright white glow and the world got heavier. All the wolves closest to Cam dropped to there knees on all fours fighting to not be smothered by the weight.
One wolf looked up to see Cam approaching but the closer Cam got the heavier the weight pressed his head down."As you should offer your necks to my blade." Cam said as he sliced the wolf's head off. In an instant every wolf in between Cam and Lyric head was rolling in the ground. When Cam's sword made contact with Lyrics claws the impact caused the whole surrounding area to be blown away. The dirt the trees and everyone nearby got blasted away.
Before impact Zero stabbed his swords into the ground and slabbed his hand in between them leaving his print at least 5 inches into the ground. When he did this a round red barrier shielded him and Eddie. When the debris cleared there was a giant creator and at the center Cam and Lyric still struggling to get the best of each other. Zero waisted no time and cleared the distance in a second slashing at Lyrics Achilles while he was distracted.
"Arggg" he growled as he lost balance and gave to Cams mysterious strength. "This isn't ove….." he began but was cut short when Zero sliced his head off.with both swords chopping it like scissors.
" You had to jump in and still my kill." Cam complained.
"Just like old times" Zero smirked relieved the main threat was gone
