Chapter 432 - Brainiac (IV)

[TN: Hey guys, look who's back as a welcome this week chapters]

"Enemy attack!"

Full-spectrum jamming was a type of electronic assault that did not distinguish between friend and foe, blasting powerful signals across broad frequency bands to interfere with all communications.

In theory, this kind of interference possessed enough energy and advanced technological complexity to completely sever all wireless communications!

And now, one purpose of those micro-transmitters was revealed:they could turn all communications in the entire area into something from the Stone Age!

The Brainiac gang was profoundly confident in the assassins they had ambushed here. They even created a gladiatorial arena for those killers—one stripped of all network-assisted functions!

Wireless synchronization such as shared vision instantly collapsed, and the invisible figures already hidden in the walls revealed their weapons!

No.They had already made their move before Joestar's vision showed any warning signs!

The blades were already less than ten centimeters away from the four of them, and "Enemy attack" became the final signal Leo managed to send.

All four reacted at once. The very first to respond was the active defense system: the micro–explosive charge on the power armor's back deployed—but the quickest combination of reaction and motion belonged to V.

The octo-arms had barely activated, the micro-explosive had only begun to eject—yet her feet were already driving downward, her momentum synced with the mantis-blade launcher. Two piercing alloy-steel blades capable of cutting through anything carved arcs through the air!

Joestar was the slowest. His eyes stretched wide, his knee joints reversed direction, and he toppled backward—

Crack—

The active defense charge fired.

Jackie dipped slightly, the blade already kissing the armor's surface.

The octo-arm didn't strike a target, but its elongated mechanical reach completely compressed the attacker's movement space.

Most shocking of all—V's mantis-blades completely defied expectation. They caught an enemy unseen in the air, blade to blade!

Boom!

Fire and shockwaves erupted, shards of steel, severed limbs, and blood bursting outward!

Optic mimicry was a high-end, delicate technology. Shockwaves, flame, and close combat destabilized it just enough that eight blurry silhouettes flickered into view in the air—

Eight full-body cyborgs!

Screeeee—

Four of the enemies' blades were deflected, failing to pierce the power armor's weak points and instead scraping across the surface with a shrill scream that echoed through the passageway!

Their eyes filled with shock and disbelief: Why?Why had all of them reacted?!

And—in the drifting fragments of shattered alloy, two attackers who had targeted Leo and V found their blades broken!

In a world of high-speed motion, even a moment of hesitation became a fatal flaw.

Jackie leveled both gauntlets at the two nearest opponents, forcing them back.

But because of their shock at the broken blades, the two involved hesitated half a heartbeat.

The octo-arm latched to the wall and swung like a steel cable, sealing off their escape. V's lethal mantis-blade was already arcing back into a kill-spin!

Leo dipped his head; two octo-arms swung past, just enough to open a diagonal path for V.

That single opening left the two who hesitated with no way to dodge—they could only meet the attack head-on—

Boom!

Twenty-four caseless rounds blasted from two gauntlets at once, the sound like cannon-fire!

The lethal shells spread like a shotgun burst, carving two entire slabs of wall from both sides of the corridor!

Thud.

Two seconds passed. Joestar finished falling to the floor just as his shotgun entered charge mode.

He stared blankly at what had landed with him: two bodies, cut into four pieces… and two massive chunks of wall panel.

The accumulated heat from the single burst left the gauntlets faintly glowing red, shimmering in the dark.

V flicked the blood from her mantis-blades, the faint glow reflecting along their edges as Leo's octo-arms retracted from both sides.

Joestar sat there dumbfounded, not even noticing that his shotgun had finished charging.

Also—a small chunk of his jaw had been sliced off. A little slower and he'd be dead!

As for the assassins—after completing their strike, they had once again melted back into the shadows.

"…Holy shit."

Joestar was stunned.

The enemy wanted to create a gladiator arena—but who knew whether their gladiators were really as strong as they imagined?

So far, not that strong.

Bang.

Still dazed, Joestar watched the other three move forward while he casually put a round through the skull of one dying cyborg on the floor—

Leaving a charged weapon unfired shortens the barrel's lifespan.

"Holy shit," Joestar muttered as he reloaded. "That was insane."

"Get up."

Bang!

Before Leo could finish speaking, a massive isolation door suddenly dropped from above, smashing the other dying cyborg's head into paste.

"Uh—" Joestar panicked and hurriedly knocked on the door. "Hey! Friendly?!"

But the barrier was far too thick; no sound came through.

At that same moment, the wall to the side slowly lifted—a seamless hidden door.

Joestar swallowed. "When God closes a door, He opens… a secret one. Maelstrom boys ain't scared of Brainiac chickenshits!"

He chambered a round and stepped inside.

"What's happening?"

Jackie blocked the front, glancing back.

Leo's eyes flared with exaggerated blue light—scanning for any unjammed communication frequencies.

"No idea. Probably meant to split us up and force us forward separately. Let's just hope the kid's lucky enough."

In the end, Joestar hesitated just a fraction of a second—one or two centimeters—and only he ended up behind the isolation door.

That was the only explanation.

Shing—

V wiped her blade behind them. "Pretty sneaky. Not slow either—you nearly lost your head."

The spark off her blade briefly illuminated Leo's nape: untouched, though a neat slice of hair was gone.

These assassins used advanced mimicry—not simple skin-implants, but full-body systems tailored to their entire cybernetic frames.

When Leo sensed something wrong, six of them had already attacked. He hadn't actually detected them—by the time disturbed airflow reached him, the blades were already dangerously close.

Call it… bad luck for them? With the team on guard, they weren't nearly as formidable.

[Little Octopus: Boss, V's speed seems slightly beyond projected range—about a two-millisecond deviation.]

Hm?

Leo glanced at V; her face flickered in the sparks from her blade, faintly smiling…Anyone unfamiliar with her would be terrified.

[Leo: We'll deal with it later.]

"Jackie," Leo said, "move bigger."

"That's what I was thinking."

Jackie grinned and ripped the metal floor open—

The earlier ambush had been undetectable because the attackers' body temperatures, exhaust, and all other revealing indicators had been minimized to perfection for an ambush.

But high-end full-body cyborgs, once they move, inevitably generate heat.

The power armor came with military-grade thermal vision.

They might continue thermal suppression, but if Jackie plowed forward like a bulldozer—would they hide, or not?

This was a narrow underground arena—

A thick metal panel was effortlessly lifted by Jackie and crushed into a long, glowing-hot metal bar under the heated gauntlets.

Gripping two freshly forged bars, Jackie chuckled.

"This is gonna be therapeutic."

Boom!

The sweeping bars passed in front of them—heat signatures flared on the left wall!

To their credit, the enemy's cloaking tech was impressive. Even with such violent disruption, only a small area showed a temperature rise.

Clearly, their bodies were wrapped in thermal insulation—

Too bad no insulation could block heat completely.

Even a slight temperature shift was detectable.

As for why they couldn't fully insulate—doing so would prevent all heat dissipation, causing a combat cyborg to shut down mid-fight.

Boom!

Scorching knuckles fired another round, forcing the enemy to dodge again—revealing even more heat. Leo couldn't see clearly, but Octo instantly moved in to seal the path!

The space constricted. V surged forward last, her mantis-blades slicing rapidly through the tiny area, clashing steel against steel in the chaos.

V might not have clearly seen her target, but this contact was enough:if the enemy observed carefully, they would notice a thin cable linking V's arm to Leo's third octo-arm.

Full-spectrum jamming disabled all wireless communication—it was a massive, indiscriminate interference measure.

And moments ago, Leo confirmed that the jamming range was extremely broad.

Meaning: not only were they unable to use wireless communication—the enemy couldn't either.

But a data-knife hack? That could be switched to wired mode.

Without an external server trap, Leo could completely crush every assassin present.

The invisible cyborg bracing against V's mantis-blade tried to leverage his cloaked advantage to dissipate force—but just as he prepared to retreat and strike again, his cybernetics froze for a split second, and his mimicry flickered like a broken billboard into a full-body mosaic!

A giant mosaic appeared in midair!

Bang!

The bullet blew the mosaic's head apart.

Blood splattered. In the darkness, the remaining hunters saw Jackie and V suddenly grin.

And in that instant, they realized a terrifying—but likely true—fact:

It wasn't these three who had been thrown into a gladiator pit.

It was they who had been locked inside with these three.
