Chapter 68: Claiming the Dark Heart
Yana's body was restored as she stood with DD, Caleb, and Heli. They were high above the Endless Caves latest transformation, the rooms in the shape of a seven petal flower. Yana looked at the structure below her.
It was not made of the same material as the rest of the corridor and she could sense the combination of void and shadow magics within it. To her the air smelled of magic spinning out of control. There was a scent of ash, burning metal, and the tang of an electrical fire. Her nose twitched. They could not have made it to the center of the caves but her nose told her that they had.
"The Caves must have folded in on themselves. We are closer than I expected."
Caleb looked to the wall where the black leaf had disappeared. "Perhaps your tree gave us a short cut."
