This is a terribly terrifying scene.
It's ten thousand times more horrifying than scenes in horror movies.
The altar in the rainforest, nine eerie statues, vines seemingly possessing life and consciousness, and ninety-eight wax corpses—all of these together present a sight reminiscent of Hell.
Especially those vines.
They seem to be extracting energy from the female corpses and then feeding it back to the nine statues.
Whenever the energy from the female corpses is absorbed by the vines, a layer of frost covers their surface. Only when the power completely merges into the statues, does the frost disappear, before starting to draw the female corpses' energy again...
This scene repeats constantly, cycling endlessly.
Guardian Ma paused for a moment on the outskirts of the altar before slowly approaching the statues. As he stepped forward, the vines seemed to become aware, starting to entwine like venomous snakes, ready to strike.
