After speaking, Chen Ergou turned around and left, leaving the security team leader standing there alone, pondering.
He then quickly called the other security guards.
"Everyone, withdraw the team!"
The security team leader had his men search all night, but they found no clues and no traces of Chen Ergou. Hearing the order to stand down, there was a hint of curiosity.
"Withdrawing now, have they given up on finding that person?"
"I don't know, maybe the captain is concerned about our safety!"
A few security guards discussed with a look of relief.
After their discussion, they began their return journey. After searching all night, they had only covered less than half the distance Chen Ergou had. Luckily, Chen Ergou's advance had increased their safety, allowing them to follow in his steps all the way up.
Soon after, they returned to the base of Changbai Mountain and saw their captain standing at the entrance, rubbing his head. A few security guards nervously approached him.
