Chapter 200 - Serena Prince: Love of Magic - chapter 197

Author's Notes: Chapter edited and corrected by Scott Fellman.

Serena POV.

"And we're back in Orario once again." I said as I closed the portal behind me. We were back in the office inside Twilight Manor.

"Ah! That was wonderful! Honestly, I didn't believe it when I heard it, but succubi are indeed on another level! Even for Goddesses! We have to repeat it! No! We need to organize regular trips! Riveria! Have your wife teach you how to travel to the Underworld so you can take me every week!" Loki ordered with a huge, bright smile on her face.

"First, she's not my wife yet. Second, I see you accepted everything pretty quickly for the 'benefits,' and third, I'm sure we can't go every week." Riveria sighed as she looked at me, and I shrugged amusedly.

"I mean, you can do whatever you want as long as you keep your identity as Loki a secret, but even though Marion didn't decide to charge me for the... Loki session, I don't intend to take advantage of her, and her rates are expensive." I said playfully.

I really didn't want to know what Marion and the other succubi had done with Loki, but Loki had left the room with a huge, satisfied smile. She was practically glowing and gleaming with joy and satisfaction that could only be a post-orgasmic glow.

"Guys! We have to earn more Valis!" Loki ordered, addressing her family.

"Don't even dream about it." Bete grumbled with a grimace of disgust.

"No," Ais said, looking away.

"I'll pass!" "Me too!" Tiona and Tione said in unison.

"I... don't want to do it either." Lefiya said timidly, while rhetorically looking away.

"Oh, come on! Are you going to abandon your goddess like that?!" Loki asked incredulously. "Finn, Riveria! You'll help me, right?!" Loki asked immediately, looking at the others. Riveria snorted.

"I'm sorry, Loki-sama," Finn said with an apologetic smile. "Our budget is really tight, especially with the new purchases we made from the Guild yesterday." I saw Bellatrix look away, smiling broadly. Oh, right, she had sold the storage bags and enchanted tents to the Guild.

"I'll be too busy training and learning new magic, and teaching it to the other elves. For a while, I'll only go down to the dungeon if absolutely necessary," Riveria said easily. Loki almost looked desperate and glanced at me.

"You! My daughter will be your wife. Can I get a family discount?" Loki asked in a pleading manner, and I burst out laughing.

"Very well, I don't mind paying for one session a month with whomever you want," I said, taking pity on her. Loki's eyes widened.

"Once a week!" he said immediately.

"Once a month."

"Come on! I'm not asking for much, once every two weeks? " Loki pleaded.

"Once a month," I repeated playfully. Loki groaned.

"That's not how you haggle!" Loki growled.

"I wasn't haggling, I was telling you, once a month, take it or leave it." I said, shrugging.

"Fine! Once a month! You can't take it away! " Loki said immediately before squealing with joy. "Very well! I'll go take a bath! You guys discuss whatever you need!" Loki said as she happily bounced out of the office.

"You know that wasn't necessary, right?" Riveria asked with a sigh, and I chuckled.

"I know, but if I didn't give her something, she was going to keep bothering you for weeks," I said playfully. "Besides, the Succubi like to help me, but well... the jobs they can do outside of sexual ones are really limited, especially Marion and the other leaders, so with this, they're happy doing their own thing while helping out," I said easily.

"If you're sure," Riveria said, nodding.

"Very well, I'm sure you have a lot to catch up on. I'll be showing Rebecca around the dungeon for the rest of the day, or we'll find somewhere to rest." I said gently to Rivera, and she nodded.

"Understood." Riveria said simply.

"Let's go." Rebecca and Lucy just nodded.

"I'm going to see Miach and Naaza," Bella said as she quickly disappeared with a small 'pop' without waiting for a response. I was about to create a portal when someone grabbed my clothes. I turned around and saw Ais staring at me.

"...I was good." Ais said simply, looking at me without any emotion. My eyes widened slightly, and I looked at her, confused. I looked at Finn, confused, who just sighed. "The sword... You promised," Ais said finally.

"Oh... Balmung." I said simply, nodding. It was true, I had promised Ais that. "I am the Root of all Mystery." I said firmly. While Balmung was beginning to project.

A black sword appeared in front of me; it was a large, two-handed greatsword. It was something that Ais could not and would not know how to use if I took into account Ais's preferred weapon type, so I began to change it, to restructure Balmung's form.

Balmung began to writhe, shrink, and compress. I started to harden and strengthen her as I placed enchantments upon her. Finally, the creation was complete.

Balmung, now fully formed but with a new appearance, was closer to Ais' rapier Desperate, though the sword was still black, gray, and silver.

"This... is Balmung." I handed the weapon to Ais, which she took with reverence. "Its true power is unleashed when you speak its true name. Think of it as something as powerful as Riveria's Rea Lavaeteinn. You have to twist the hilt in the opposite direction while holding it tightly, and then—"

" The evil dragon shall fall,

And the world will reach its sunset.

I will bring you down—

--Balmung!

Ais trembled slightly at the Chant, her eyes wide open.

"The Evil Dragon shall fall …" Ais murmured as she gazed at the sword with reverence, almost as if the sword were resonating with her.

"Don't try to use it in Orario, or you'll destroy most of the city. Later, I'll accompany you and teach you how to use it properly. For now, just get used to its weight. It's much heavier than the swords you're used to. I was able to reduce its size, but the materials it's made of had to be held and compressed."

"Then I wanted to go to a trusted blacksmith of yours and see if he can add Durandal to make it more resistant. The swords I replicate aren't as resistant as the originals. It's not a problem for me since I can continue projecting them, but it would be a problem for you."

"Any questions?" I asked Ais gently. Ais just stared at the sword while shaking her head.

"Was it really a good idea to give her that sword?" Riveria asked in my mind. I could see her, carefully and almost shyly, reviewing my memories of Balmung. I welcomed her into my mind and shared all the information about Balmung with her.

"I mean, maybe? It's not like she knows where the One-Eyed Black Dragon is to go and confront it right now. And if you're worried about her getting hurt, I reduced Balmung's levels a couple of times. Ais's existence and general abilities may have given her a decent magic reserve, but it's definitely nowhere near the colossal drain of a full Balmung."

"She definitely won't come close to your Rae Laevateinn's strength anytime soon, and I don't think she's foolish enough to use Balmung in succession to end up unconscious," I mentally told Riveria.

"Wow... these Noble Phantasms are truly impressive. " Riveria murmured as she reviewed everything about Balmung, and I nodded mentally.

"The weight of a legend greatly increases the power of Noble Phantasms." I told Riveria, and she nodded.

"Alright, now we have to go. I'll give the others weapons another day," I said playfully while looking at the Loki Familia, who were jealously eyeing Balmung; they were startled and seemed surprised.

"Will you do it?" Finn asked, surprised. Even Riveria looked surprised. I shrugged.

"As I said, I have to fulfill my contract with Riveria. Besides, designing weapons is easy for me," I said playfully. "See you tomorrow. We still have several things to discuss, but it's best to take some time to rest and absorb all the information." I said softly, gesturing to Riveria. She nodded.

"I'll be waiting for you," Riveria said with a smile. I nodded and looked at Lucy and Rebecca, who were waiting as well, the latter more impatient than the former. I rolled my eyes, smiled, and opened a portal.

"Thank you," Ais said loudly as she clung to Balmung. I just looked over my shoulder at her and waved goodbye.

The Next Day – Serena POV.

I had planned to go to the dungeon with Rebecca and Lucy; the firearms, especially those in Cyberpunk, had a really high level of firepower, so we should be able to advance through a large number of floors before encountering anything that was bulletproof.

But I'm sure we'd have to dig into the deepest floors before we'd encounter something like that.

But to my surprise, when I had pitched a tent far from Orario under many defensive enchantments, they both fell deeply asleep from exhaustion.

After reviewing the last day, both of them had been awake for more than 20 hours, between everything that had happened with Tanaka in Night City, then telling the pair about The Company, the moon, then going to Orario, the long talks in the library, and everything else, it had been a long time.

I tend to forget about tiredness; I'm constantly using different metals on my body, so it is primarily mental for me most of the time. I use gold to keep my body in top condition, Bendalloy for energy, and Bronze for wakefulness.

I don't get sleepy or hungry unless I choose to, so I usually ignore it, especially when I'm swamped, usually when I'm researching magic, but I guess running around counts too.

So, we were still inside a very comfortable magic tent, having breakfast. I had gone to find Riveria early in the morning; apparently, she had been just as tired and had slept through the night.

The only one missing was Bella, who I could see was with Miach and Naaza at this moment.

"Alright! It's time to choose powers!" I said happily, once we finished breakfast, while looking at Rebecca, who started bouncing with excitement.

"Finally! You choose something preem for me?!" Rebecca asked excitedly.

"I have several options for you and for Riveria." I said, looking at Riveria; she just shook her head.

"I don't mind you starting with her, I... I'm the one with the least information, and I'm not used to all this. I'd like to see how she chooses a template," Riveria said easily.

"Alright, let's begin then, Rebecca. You said armament, but do you only want firearms, or would regular weapons suffice? " I asked curiously.

"Firearms, the more impact the better!" Rebecca said with a deranged smile. I nodded slightly.

"Then something like Kratos is out of the question," I said easily.

"Kratos?" Lucy asked.

"God of War, brutal, aggressive, fights against gods and monsters, destroyed the Greek pantheon and helped to destroy a large part of the Norse one." I said easily.

"Wait, seriously, we can choose gods as a template?" Rebecca asked excitedly. I nodded.

"Don't get too excited, the gods... while they are powerful, that doesn't mean they are truly strong. There are many stronger entities that aren't gods," I said simply. I grabbed my phone, tapped the Zoom option, and soon I had a rather large tablet.

I signaled to both of them to come closer. Rebecca simply sat on my lap, while Lucy and Riveria positioned themselves on either side of me. Lucy practically pressed her body against mine without any concern, but I noticed that Riveria was more reserved despite the closeness.

I manipulate the tablet, play some videos of Kratos fighting various gods and monsters. We see the bloody and murderous way Kratos acted, and all the weapons he had at his disposal throughout his life and more.

"There really are people killing gods, and they are... they are gods I recognize, but... at the same time they are very different." Riveria said, surprised.

"They are, there may be an infinite number of versions of the most well-known gods, just... try not to group them together or treat them the same way, some are vastly different between versions of themselves, it's not fun." I said with a grimace.

"I can believe it, the Loki I know was definitely not that child of Kratos," Riveria said while nodding seriously.

"So, what did you think of that?" I asked. Rebecca was staring intently at the screen.

"Okay, that's a badass man, damn badass. I want something like that, fuck it, but with guns, lots of guns. There has to be something. If I can't kill gods and monsters, I don't want anything," Rebecca said, her voice thick with lust. I could feel her trying to rock back and forth on my leg to create friction. I just placed a hand on her waist and held her still.

"And luckily for you, there are several like that," I said with a smile. "But before we get to the most obvious ones, the ones I know you'd really like, let's look at a few others, just so you have an idea," I said while manipulating the tablet once more.

First, I showed her Master Chief from Halo, Shepard from Mass Effect, the Space Marines from Warhammer 40k, Borderlands, Dante and Nero from Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, even the Warframes, and more.

Video games were truly a damn weapons depot.

"I think I'm going to have an orgasm," Rebecca moaned as she clung to my arms. I chuckled.

"It was... truly amazing, to think that everything you just showed us actually exists in other worlds," Riveria said, surprised. "All that... technology and weapons, some of them can even surpass anything the Adventurers in Orario can do, and much of it without magic," Riveria said, amazed.

"Yes... technology is simply... absurd in some universes, not that magic isn't equally so." I said, shrugging.

"Even so, it's truly amazing. You only showed us the weapons, but it's more than obvious that there are many of them who have space travel. We only made it to the moon. It's... amazing to think about exploring an entire galaxy." Lucy said, her eyes slightly sparkling. I nodded.

"Oh yes, there are too many universes with space travel, yet… they all end in war where they destroy planets, so… we can't go to one of them anytime soon." I said with a crooked smile. "Besides, many of them aren't aware of magic, so we might have to hold back."

"I mean, if we were in real danger, I would use it, but I'd rather not reveal magic to an entire universe where it doesn't exist," I said dryly.

"Is that a problem?" Riveria asked, frowning.

"Not really? The Company couldn't care less about what we do with our part of the multiverse. There are countless universes for them, and the universes we alter are... simply minor to them, so we can do whatever we want."

"We can go to any world, reveal magic and all that, I just don't want to get involved in all the trouble that would entail. The first thing humans do when they find something unknown is try to kill it, or capture it, experiment on it, and try to replicate it."

"There are... many examples." I said with a grimace on my face.

"That sounds... pessimistic." Riveria said with a grimace.

"But she's not wrong," Lucy countered. "I've seen it many times. There are always people with no sense of morals who will do anything to gain more power, by any means necessary," Lucy said bitterly. We all remained silent.

"There are still two more, but I want you to play them; it'll be much more fun that way." I said, changing the subject. Lucy sighed in relief.

"Wait, you have virtual reality games?" Rebecca asked, surprised.

"Wait, Virtual Reality? Are there VR games in Night City?" I asked in surprise, Lucy nodded.

"Of course, they use the same technology as Braindance, only... it can't completely replicate reality in that way. The senses, emotions, and all that are very different from what a Braindance can replicate." Lucy explained. I blinked.

"Uh... interesting." I hummed softly. I could sense Riveria's confusion, so I sent her the information about all the casual terminology and technology in Cyberpunk.

"Oh, that's... interesting," Riveria said, surprised.

"It is, and let me see for a minute—" I said as I quickly began searching for the game I was waiting for. "Oh, yes, there's a tech-compatible VR version of Cyberpunk 2077, which… to be specific, even says it's perfectly calibrated to replicate the whole feel and… help with template training."

"Well, that's... incredible, I guess the cost of 1 credit should be worth it." I said, impressed, as I continued reading.

" 1 Credit, isn't that cheap? " Lucy asked simply, I shrugged.

"I mean, it's worth a civilian with no skills, so... take it however you want, but if it really helps develop the templates, it'll be worth it. Let's see how it goes; I'm sure Rebecca will enjoy the whole experience." I said as I bought the game.

"Can we play it here, or do we have to go back to Night City?" Lucy asked. I hummed softly and sent a message to GLaDOS as I opened a portal. GLaDOS stepped out of the portal, dragging several things.

"Riveria, meet GLaDOS, my pawn, GLaDOS, this is Riveria." Introduce them both.

"A pleasure to meet you," Riveria said immediately with a smile, and GLaDOS simply nodded.

"GLaDOS! Were you finally able to recover the prototype of Arasaka's cyber-skeleton? " Rebecca asked excitedly.

"Yes, I did," GLaDOS said with a small smile. "I was able to test the Dragoon body remote control I'd been preparing, and the... specifications left me more than satisfied," GLaDOS said cheerfully. I snorted in amusement.

"Nice way to say I completely wrecked Arasaka's lab." I said playfully, GLaDOS just shrugged.

"Like I said, more than satisfied," GLaDOS repeated with a smile. I shook my head while smiling back. I ignored her while GLaDOS finished preparing everything and bought the new version of the video game.

Once I bought it, I passed the data to GLaDOS, who downloaded it immediately.

"Very well, everything is ready," said GLaDOS. "Everything is connected. The screens will display what Rebecca is looking at. She should be able to hear them even while she's inside the game." GLaDOS said immediately as she finished setting everything up.

"Ready?" I asked Rebecca, who walked over to the chair, sat down, and placed what looked very much like a Braindance Crown on her head. Rebecca smiled broadly.

"I hope this is fun, Choom," Rebecca said with a wide smile. My eyes sparkled.

"Oh, you'll enjoy it. Get ready, Becca, because you're about to play Doom 2016 and Eternal." I said ominously as Rebecca entered the video game.

Doom 2016 & Doom Eternal (VR)(Cyberpunk 2077 mod)(Full Experience) [-1][381]

"Doom 2016? Why... does it sound so sinister? " Riveria asked worriedly.

"Because it is, get ready for what's coming." I told them both cheerfully as I took a seat. Lucy and Riveria took their seats and looked at the screen carefully.

Finally, the screen lit up, and a deep voice came through.

"They are rage, brutal, without mercy. But you. You will be worse. Rip and tear, until it is done."

I shuddered with excitement upon hearing the opening line as the Mark of the Beast appeared on screen. Rebecca finally opened her eyes, and the screen spun in panic as she saw she was chained up and began to hear and see the demons approaching.

"Where the hell did you put me, Gonk!" Rebecca screamed, and her body shook.

"Free yourself and kill him before he kills you!" I shouted gleefully. Rebecca groaned; on screen, she finally broke free from her chain, just in time to grab the demon and smash his head against the altar.

She broke free from another restraint and fell to the ground, immediately grabbing the weapon.

"Doesn't this have a tutorial?" Rebecca asked as she began shooting.

"Doom doesn't need a tutorial! That's for cowards! You only have one mission: kill all the demons!" I replied with a sadistic smile.

"Those... are demons?" Riveria asked, surprised, next to me.

"Oh, they are, and the worst there is." I said cheerfully as I watched Rebecca kill the demons. After a few minutes of trying to control her new body, Rebecca finally found the Doom Slayer armor.

Rebecca adapted to the game really quickly. Combat in Doom only focused on three things: brutal demons, heavy artillery, and fast movement, all with the sole objective of killing demons.

And Rebecca began to excel at it. Once she understood the game, understood the limitations of Doom Slayer, the armor, the weapons, the real carnage began. The Finishers came one after another, one demon brutally and bloodily killed after another.

And Rebecca was euphoric, laughing out loud as she continued to destroy demon after demon after demon.

Rebecca definitely tested all the weapons to their limits, from the pistol to the chainsaw, as she cut down demons; the screen was just filled with blood and dead demons.

"Gods, this... this is truly gory. Even fighting in the dungeon is less messy than this," Riveria said, surprised. I chuckled. Because yes, Doom placed a lot of emphasis on the brutal and gory, and it did it brilliantly; it was a damn masterpiece in that regard.

Riveria, Lucy, and I started talking about various things while occasionally glancing at Rebecca's screen. I mean, the game is spectacular, but story-wise, there wasn't much to tell in Doom 2016, and it was very entertaining if you were the one killing demons.

Watching thousands of those creatures get killed didn't get boring, but it did get repetitive, especially after a couple of hours. I even threw a bubble around Rebecca and the whole team to make time pass faster for us.

While Doom was fairly short, it could still take at least 15-20 hours to complete each playthrough. It wasn't much, but it was still a really long time just to watch Rebecca play and kill demons.

On the other hand, Rebecca was having a wonderful time; it seemed as if she had entered her own paradise, the joyful, sadistic laughter rising every time she killed a horde of demons.

"That was so damn preem, Choom!" Rebecca squealed happily once she finished both games and was logged out. I could see she was still pumped with adrenaline, though she certainly looked tired after almost 30 hours of playing.

I approached her and placed a medallion on her head to help her recover from sleep deprivation. Rebecca blinked and gave me a grateful look. Then I took out several portions of food and offered them to her. Rebecca grabbed them without hesitation and took large, hungry bites.

"You said there were two more options. Doom was the first; I hope the second one is just as amazing." Rebecca said, bouncing on the spot. I smiled amusedly.

"Actually, I wanted to play this game with you. It'll be more fun, and I admit I also want to try some... things in this video game." I said with a small smile, Rebecca's eyes widening.

"That sounds even better!" Rebecca said excitedly.

"Do you want to try it?" I asked Lucy and Riveria.

"Is it the same as Doom?" Lucy asked curiously. I nodded.

"Similar, more history, less demonic genocide, more weapons, vast amounts of violated laws of physics, and incredible magical powers." I said simply, and Lucy nodded.

"And let's see what it has to offer. I mean, it would be a good way to see what it would be like to have some powers." Lucy agreed, glancing at Riveria. She seemed uncertain.

"Are you... Sure, you want me to go? I... have no idea what I'll be doing." Riveria said simply, and I shrugged.

"Everyone starts somewhere, and besides, I think you'll enjoy some aspects of the game. If you hate it at any point, you can always quit." I told Riveria, and she finally nodded.

"Then I have no objection to trying it," Riveria said with a nod.

"GLaDOS? Are you coming?" I asked as I transmitted the video game information to her; GLaDOS's eyes glowed slightly.

"I'll go." GLaDOS said immediately, sounding excited, and began preparing four more seats. I smiled slightly as I bought the next video game.
