A whirlwind of thoughts swirled through Seimei's mind. After a long moment of contemplation, he made up his mind and shifted his focus to the rest of the status panel.
It hadn't been long since his last "Constitution" attribute boost, so his chakra ceiling hadn't grown much. It went from 1,851,450 points to 1,923,450 points—just over 70,000 points shy of his temporary goal of 2,000,000.
As for his bloodline traits, aside from the Byakugan, progress was minimal. Storm Release, being the least evolved, saw the most improvement, but it only gained 45 points.
Unlike the body transformation that boosted his "Constitution" attribute, the mental leap from evolving his Sharingan didn't give his other bloodline traits an extra push. Their growth was generally modest.
That was fine, though. His body wasn't ready to handle the strain of further bloodline evolution anyway.
Snapping out of his thoughts, Seimei turned his attention back to the Byakugan.
In just nine days, its evolution progress had jumped 315 points, going from (3236/10000) to (3551/10000). That averaged out to about 35 points per day.
This was noticeably faster than the 30 points per day he'd measured before.
The reason was simple. After his last body transformation, his physical strength had increased, allowing him to handle more intense chakra stimulation. This not only boosted the daily proficiency gains for his "Body of the Extreme" technique but also, thanks to the extra million chakra points, slightly accelerated his Byakugan's evolution.
The result? His daily evolution rate went from 30 points to 35.
And that wasn't the end of it.
He could expect this rate to climb even higher as his "Body of the Extreme" advanced further or his body underwent another transformation.
Even at the current pace, it would take roughly 180 days—about six months—for his Byakugan to evolve again. At that point, even if it didn't immediately reach the level of the Tenseigan, equivalent to the Rinnegan, it would far surpass a standard Byakugan, matching the power of a Mangekyō Sharingan.
When that happened, his Byakugan might manifest some unique changes.
Seimei was quietly looking forward to it.
But that was a matter for later.
For now, he needed to focus on the present.
Shifting his attention to the skills section, Seimei reviewed his progress over the past ten days. As expected, his "Chakra Refinement Technique" had gained 240 proficiency points, moving from lv7 (3444/20000) to lv7 (3684/20000), inching closer to lv8.
His "Chakra Control" had also improved, thanks to his ongoing work with Dust Release. It gained 250 proficiency points, going from lv8 (8100/50000) to lv8 (8350/50000), nearly a fifth of the way to the next level.
Then there were "Wood Clone Technique" and "Body of the Extreme."
The former had reached lv8 (25500/50000), just halfway from the perfect mastery of lv9 (0/0). At his current pace, it would take about three weeks to max it out.
As for the latter, it was at lv8 (13000/50000). With a daily gain of 1200 proficiency points, he'd need about a month to level it up.
"A month, huh," Seimei murmured, then let the thought go.
With the changes from his recent Sharingan breakthrough mostly accounted for, all that was left was to test how much his theoretical chakra ceiling had increased and how much faster his chakra recovery rate had become.
Last time, when his "Mental" attribute rose from 28 to 29, his theoretical chakra ceiling had increased by 1,600,000 points, and his chakra recovery rate had gone up by 800,000 points.
This time, with his "Mental" attribute undergoing a qualitative leap, Seimei was confident the gains would be even greater.
With that in mind, he took a deep breath, exhaled slowly, and calmed his mind. Then, he fully activated his "Chakra Refinement Technique" to tap into his potential.
Time ticked by, second by second.
About half an hour later, Seimei opened his eyes.
He carefully sensed the changes in his body from before and after the session.
Soon, he reached a conclusion: this "Mental" attribute boost had increased his potential—his theoretical chakra ceiling—by about 2,000,000 points.
No question, this was a huge leap compared to the 1,600,000-point increase when his "Mental" stat went from 28 to 29, and even more than the 1,450,000-point boost from 27 to 28.
And this was still suppressed by the imbalance between his mental and physical attributes.
Without that limitation, the increase would've been even higher.
This just went to show how powerful the qualitative change from hitting 30 in his "Mental" attribute was.
Inhale… exhale…
Seimei took another deep breath to steady himself, then moved on to test his chakra recovery rate.
As usual, he didn't need to test chakra recovery through the "Chakra Refinement Technique" since that was a given. He only needed to measure his body's natural chakra recovery rate.
With that in mind, he paused the "Chakra Refinement Technique," opened his status panel, and quietly observed the changes in his "Chakra" value.
Time passed slowly.
This time, he stopped the test after just ten minutes.
Unlike the potential test, measuring chakra recovery was straightforward with the panel's data, so it didn't take long.
Over the past ten minutes, his "Chakra" had increased by 63,194 points.
That meant 379,164 points per hour, and over 24 hours, roughly 9,100,000 points of chakra per day.
This was a million points more than his previous 8,100,000 points.
In other words, this "Mental" attribute boost had increased his natural chakra recovery rate by 1,000,000 points.
While this was only 200,000 points more than the 800,000-point increase from his last "Mental" stat boost, Seimei was satisfied. Chakra synthesis relied heavily on the balance between mind and body, and his were far from balanced right now.
Still, starting today, he'd have an extra million chakra points to work with each day.
If he didn't use them, his daily chakra savings would jump from 2,920,000 points to 3,920,000 points.
And when it came to chakra, Seimei could never have too much.
Closing the panel, he turned his focus to the next task: addressing the issues with his body.
With that thought, he activated "Wind Release: Wings of Wind" and took to the sky. He activated his Byakugan and circled the island a few times, scanning everything within a ten-kilometer radius to ensure there were no problems.
Satisfied, he returned to Moon Island.
Without hesitation, he performed the "Spiritualization Technique."
A faint shadow emerged from the top of his head as his soul separated from his body.
Hovering in the air, Seimei carefully sensed his chakra-wrapped soul. Drawing on his experience using the "Sealing Heart, Locking Soul: Instant Contract Mark" on others, he made slight adjustments and applied it to his own soul.
Instantly, intricate sealing patterns appeared on the surface of his soul, wrapping it like a tight net.
In that moment, Seimei clearly felt his mental strength weaken slightly.
He dispelled the "Spiritualization Technique," and his soul returned to his body.
Opening his eyes, he assessed himself again.
While he could still feel the pressure of his mental strength on his body, it no longer felt like the balance was on the verge of breaking.
"Not bad," Seimei nodded, pleased.
At this rate, if he didn't undo the seal, he could hold out for months without issue.
But that wasn't an option.
In its sealed state, his mental strength wasn't enough to sense the faint natural energy in the environment.
To use natural energy, he'd have to periodically undo the seal.
That would naturally shorten the time he could maintain this state.
But it didn't matter. He was confident his body would undergo another transformation before he reached his limit.
With that settled, Seimei closed the panel and resumed his daily training.
