In an instant, the world in front of him turned black-and-white. Everything looked unreal, almost transparent, like he could see straight through it all.
Thanks to that handy trick, he quickly scanned the area below and soon spotted several lava caverns that looked pretty similar.
After checking them out more carefully, it didn't take long for him to pick the one that (based on past experience) seemed perfect for the next stage of his training.
Of course, he'd only know for sure once he got there and felt it out himself.
With that in mind, Seimei locked onto the nearest Flying Thunder God mark he'd placed outside the volcano (back when he was training on a platform he'd carved into the outer wall) and teleported.
Whoosh—ice-cold seawater slammed into him from every side. In a single blink, he went from the scorching, crushing pressure inside the volcano to that open-air platform surrounded by the ocean.
"Whew…"
He let out a long breath, giving his body a second to adjust to the sudden change in temperature and pressure. Then, without wasting a beat, he dove off the ledge and started swimming deeper into the sea.
One meter… five… ten…
Before long, he was more than forty meters down, right near the spot closest to his target cavern.
He stopped, pressed himself flat against the volcanic rock wall, and formed the hand seals—Earth Style: Ground Vein Dragon Technique!
The very next moment, his body slid forward and melted straight into the rock like it wasn't even there.
After that, it was smooth sailing. Using the Byakugan's x-ray vision to map the route and Earth Release to burrow through the stone, he made a beeline for the cavern.
A few minutes later, he popped out on the other side.
Suddenly weightless, he felt himself start to fall, so he quickly used gravity control to hover in mid-air.
Once he was steady, he finally took a good look around.
The place was a lot like the hollow pockets he'd trained in before—rolling rivers of lava, super-heated air, insane pressure—but this cavern was way bigger. Rough guess? A couple thousand square meters, easy.
Lava wasn't just flowing underneath, either. There were pipes carved into the walls by centuries of molten rock, and right now bright-red magma was pouring out of them like fiery waterfalls.
Down below was a massive lava lake. Even through the glowing surface, he could see more lava channels at the bottom, constantly draining the lake so it never quite filled up.
The streams cascading from the walls couldn't fill the place either, but they definitely made the environment way harsher than the last four spots he'd used.
Even with his Constitution stat at 42 and Sage Mode chakra protecting him, the pressure here was no joke.
But that's exactly what he needed right now—more pressure.
Perfect.
No point in wasting time. Seimei immediately formed seals again, using Earth Release to grow four stone bridges out from the walls. They met in the center, forming a floating cross shape high above the lava.
He floated himself over with gravity control, landing right in the middle, then expanded the intersection into a circular platform about twenty meters across.
When he finally let go of the gravity jutsu and his feet touched solid ground again—thud—he felt instantly calmer.
He exhaled, shook out his arms, and got straight to work. No more delays.
Body Extremity, over and over and over.
He could feel it right away—the reinforcement speed wasn't falling short of his expectations anymore. On the contrary, this brutal environment was pushing him harder than ever.
The worse the conditions, the stronger the stimulus, the faster his body evolved.
Add in the huge boost his recovery and durability had gotten from the last transformation, and this time his strengthening speed was miles ahead of before.
Of course, he was burning through chakra way faster too… but that wasn't the priority right now.
All he cared about was how much faster he could push his body.
Time ticked by.
An hour later, the session ended.
Seimei stopped, locked onto the Flying Thunder God mark in the central clearing on Moon Island, and bam—Flying Thunder God Technique.
The scenery flipped in a heartbeat.
One second he was in that hellish volcano, the next he was back on the cool, breezy surface of Moon Island.
"Phew…"
A long, steamy breath rolled out of his mouth, fogging the air. His skin was bright red, and in a few spots there were even blisters (leftovers from forcing a venue change last time without giving his body time to adapt).
That just showed how insane the conditions down there really were.
Still, with his Constitution at 42, his recovery was ridiculous. Two minutes—tops—and every burn, every blister, gone. Skin good as new.
Feeling his body settle back into comfort, Seimei gave a satisfied nod.
Then, with a thought, he released the Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu.
Poof—every shadow clone, inside the island and out, vanished in a puff of smoke.
A flood of memories, chakra, and natural energy rushed back into him all at once.
Like always, he pushed the memories aside first, sorted and stored the returning chakra and natural energy, then finally started sifting through everything the clones had experienced.
Ten minutes later, he opened his eyes.
He stood there quietly for a bit, fully absorbing and digesting all the training insights packed into those memories. Then he formed the seals again, popped out a fresh batch of shadow clones—one group for gathering natural energy, another for working on his Blood Succession Snare—and jumped right back into training.
As for measuring exact gains in reinforcement speed? One round obviously wasn't enough.
Especially since he'd switched venues mid-session this time; the data was all messed up anyway.
So, back to the grind.
Time kept rolling.
From afternoon to night, he hammered through ten full cycles, only calling it quits in the dead of night.
By then, he had a crystal-clear picture of just how much faster his body was strengthening now… and exactly how much extra chakra it was costing him.
