Hello, my name is L.R. Flores. Becoming an author has been a long-standing dream and aspiration of mine. The thought of sharing the stories that I imagine daily with others fills my life with purpose. Yet, until now, I had never made an attempt to publish anything. My computer is overflowing with an abundance of half-finished stories and worlds that have never seen the light of day.
These stories—both my own and those written by others—have been a source of comfort through life's many challenges. They have given me the opportunity to escape to entirely different realms of existence. I believe that is why so many of us are drawn to reading and writing: it allows us to experience other lives when our own may feel overwhelming or routine.
I was held back by fear—doubtful that my writing skills were good enough, and worried that I could not do justice to the worlds I cherished so deeply. Recently, however, I began to write synopses for the stories I wanted to create and the worlds I hoped to shape with my words. Among these, one story stood out, and I decided it would be my introduction to the writing world. I fell in love with this story as soon as it came to me in the middle of last year while working a third shift job.
Since then, I have written fragments of this story whenever I found the time. I have spent hours imagining what the world looks like, how it feels, and how the characters live their lives. Now, I am genuinely excited to finally share this story—which I love wholeheartedly—with the world.
As I mentioned earlier, this is my first time publishing any of my work. However, that does not mean I expect you to treat it any differently than you would any other novel. In fact, I would appreciate it if you held me to an even higher standard, as this marks my official debut.
