Jack gritted his teeth. His remaining bone knights formed a defensive wall around him, but he could see the futility in it.
'Erebus... any suggestions?!'
'Fight smarter, not harder. She's powerful, yes, but she's also arrogant. Use that.'
Jack's mind raced. The green flames around him flickered—his enhanced state was already draining. Maybe three more minutes at most.
He had to make them count.
"Layla, Vex, Morn—finish this quickly," Naya ordered. "I want to study his corpse while the energy is still fresh."
The three generals moved as one.
Layla summoned a massive soul construct—a towering specter with six arms, each one holding a different weapon made of condensed soul energy.
Vex split into seven copies using light refraction, each one equally real, all attacking from different angles.
Morn's body liquefied completely, spreading across the battlefield like an oil slick, ready to trap Jack from any direction.
And Naya simply watched, her expression one of mild curiosity.
