"The Raptor Cavalry Regiment?" Brundar breathed, gripping the battlements. "Why are they here?"
"Is it an invasion? Are they here for..."
Godfrey never finished the sentence. A high, piercing roar erupted from the palace in the center of Soaring Bird City.
A massive Silver Dragon launched itself from the palace grounds, circling high above the city spires. It shrieked a warning, its aura flaring in an attempt to intimidate the approaching regiment.
ROAR!
The response from the horizon was immediate and unforgiving. This second roar didn't pierce the ears; it rattled the bones. It was low, guttural, and laced with ancient malice.
"Hear that? That deep, raspy undertone... that's an Abyssal Dragon!"
