Chapter 21
This made Reko assume that the presence of Sage Jutsu is very rare in the summon beasts. So he decided to ask the hamster king.
"Of course, we do! Who does not have a Senjutsu?" Hamster king asked in confusion as if talking about having a pet in the house.
Reko could not believe that the hamster instantly said yes. It felt like there was some foul play involved. He wanted to ask the hamster about the properties of Senjutsu to make sure they were talking about the same thing.
But with the confidence which the hamster king said, Reko felt that his question would make him look like a lowly creature, further embarrassing him.
"Are there still some backwater races that do not know how to achieve Senjutsu?" Once again, the hamster king looked at Reko in shock.
Hamster king's eyes showed human-like emotions, first shock, then realisation, and finally slight disgust at Reko.
"Haah!! I am really unlucky. First! I found a weak human, second! The human is illiterate, can't read or write, third! The human's friends are also very likely to be weak and illiterate."
The handsome hamster king sighed with a myriad of emotions, feeling bad for challenging his elders that he would find a random human, and then turn them into a big powerhouse.
It felt to him that he was very much going to lose the bet against his elder.
'This rat!!!' Reko heard the hamster king's words as he stood close to him, and it was not like that summon of his was trying to speak quietly.
"Okay!! I am signing this!! Be sure to teach me the Sage Jutsu!" Reko remarked before making a cut on his thumb and signing.
He looked at the hamster king's surprised expression after it saw Reko's signature, feeling smug.
"I knew it! I knew I could do it! I even made an illiterate human learn to write just as I accepted his contract request!!" The hamster king laughed out loud and shouted in pure joy.
The hope in its eyes rose again, the hope to win against the elder in the tribe.
'This mother fucker!!! Does he not have common sense?!!' Reko was really annoyed by the hamster's antics.
"Okay okay!!! I think you are quite suited to be my contract partner. Here! Take this scroll and learn Senjutsu from it. I will come back after some time." The hamster king handed Reko a scroll before quickly dissipating in a puff of cloud.
"Senjutsu?? He handed over Senjutsu just like that?!!" Reko appeared to be very surprised, looking at the scroll in his hands.
Just as Reko wanted to open the scroll and learn from it, he stopped. He decided to wait until he got back to the village, his home, before trying to practice this Senjutsu.
As far as he could remember, the Senjutsu taught by the toads was very interactive. The toads guided Naruto and even helped him exhaust the excess Nature chakra, stopping him from turning into a stone.
But this hamster of his, did not even bother to give Reko the basics of Senjutsu. The handsome hamster king handed him a scroll and went to who knows where.
Reko did not feel safe at this place, at least not safe enough to perform Senjutsu for the first time.
"Where am I right now??" He muttered looking around the forest, except for the tall trees, it was hard to find anything else from the area.
"Now that I think about it, this place looks very familiar..." Reko recalled, in the Konoha village, there was a similarly grand forest, called Forest of death.
"If it's this forest then I would not have any problem returning to the village. From the looks of it, there is nothing resembling a sacred place."
"No Hamster Sages around, no tribes, no aura of rich natural energy, this really appears to be the forest of death." Reko muttered as he looked around the place, there was nothing fancy or ancient in the surrounding, making him think that the Hamster duped him into signing a fraud contract.
"But he did say that he was keen on giving opportunities to normal people. That could explain his contract. And he must have been wandering around the forest of death causing him to be summoned from here."
Though Reko was very confused, he tried to make sense of things and decided that he could not be scammed by a hamster.
